Do whatever---on Family Day-

-This is a holiday--  which means, one can get to sleep in--and I did--sorta--- I stayed in bed till 6am--I also checked this week out--I have no obligations--'cept my hair--- all this week---  Of course there is  no Day Program at the Lodge for Himself----and I am hoping that Sadie might  come--

                                                          La-Di-Da--La-Di Da----

What are your plans for to-day?--President's Day--or--Family Day--- It's kinda nice to not have any plans---just  "wing it"----We have minus 23 C  weather--VERY COLD -- It will probably warm up later- --Beau Has been out------but not little Lopez -yet---  He is so close to the ground---  I'm hoping it might warm up a bit before he goes out--

Son #2  flew to L.A. last night-- The other Pilot who flew with him, was his buddy from High School--First time they have ever flown together--  These 2 boys used to sit on our sofa and watch TOP GUN--over and over and over--They knew the whole movie, word for word, by heart-They even wore "Top Gun" uniforms---while watching that movie--and,  now working for the same Airline-----  Isn't that a hoot??---I wish I could post the picture he sent me, of the 2 of them in the cockpit-- It is precious----

- I thought the above picture  so cute---  It's okay to be "weird"---In fact, it's actually better than OK--It's pretty awesome--To-day  you can be generous, be Kind, and,  always choose LOVE----

It feels great to not "HAVE TO" do anything---  I feel like dancing----acting crazy silly--  This does not happen very much-- The only thing I really HAVE  to do is-----  BUY MILK----and that can wait till this afternoon---  Woo Woo!--

OK--- Maybe  you  need a laugh?--  I saw the following meme--and I broke down laughing up a storm------  see if you do---????--------your smile for to-day----you gotta love John Wayne---

And, remember all those cowboy shows we used to watch?--" Gene Autry"--"Dale Evans"--"Hop-along Cassidy-"---The "Love Ranger" and then there was "Tonto"--?????---  and---- They all rode horses---  The good guys had white horses--the bad guys had black ones----Cowboys and Indians-

I see snow falling outside--It must've warmed up somewhat, so out I go AGAIN--with the 2 boys--Just think----- What could be better than a whole day to do whatever------
Here are a few serious ideas--to think about---Well, we all need ideas---LOLOL

  2. Lynda, I loved those cowboy shows. Dale Evans was with Roy Rodgers. Remember them singing "Happy Trails to You". How about Zorro, Annie Oakley and, later, The Rifleman...I remember those and the family comedies like Lucy, Make Room for Daddy, The Brady Bunch, Ozzie and Harriet...and the medical dramas like Ben Casey and Doctor Kildare...
I'm not doing much today. Maybe lugging the garbage and recyclables down and out. Out dumpster is usually emptied on Monday. I didn't hear them today, though. If it's full, I'll need to wait 'til tomorrow. Sadie needs to was some dishes. That's about all.
Of course there will be no mail today. I one needs to do banking, it will need to be on line as banks are closed. Those who still work full time are happy to have the day off. All except necessary workers like first responders, etc.
'Speaking' of that, my grandson 45 minutes away plays basketball. They won the championship. There were a couple police officers that loved to come see them play. Early yesterday morning they were called to a home where violence was ensuing. With them was a paramedic. There was a crazy guy holding a family and 7 children hostage. The 3 first responders spent quite a while trying to calm him and get him in custody. He ended up shooting and killing all three of them and then himself...in front of all those little kids. Their ages were something like 2-15. I am praying for all of them and even the perpetrator's family.
It's due to be almost 10 degrees over freezing for a minute later this afternoon, the sky is mostly blue. Hope you don't get any more snow and that ice melts quickly.
Are you doing anything with your close by sons and theirs today? Or maybe just a quiet dinner with the two of you?
Whatever you do, do it with love...as always...and enjoy your day.
    BTW Loved John Wayne! {{{HUGS}}}

    1. Yes I remember Zorro--with the mask-- and Anne Oakley--forgot her--I took 4 bags of garbage to the Garbage site to-day--Some are quite heavy--Does your Grandson play basketball? My daughter's son in Medina plays basketball-I wonder if they play each other?--That is a sad story about the shootings that you spoke about--so many shootings aren't there?---- Himself very grouchy this evening--makes me wonder how long I can put up with all this?-- --- He sure does not appreciate me telling him what to do-----Anyway-- Life goes on-- I left commenting on your remarks till to-nite as I have more time-- Hugs to yu--Lynda

  3. Love the John Wayne saying. I actually knew him, and lived in the same town as he did. One of my friends used to babysit his kids and he also frequented my parents restaurant. He was quite a man, bigger than life. Always willing to shake someone’s hand and chat when approached while shopping at the local grocery store or shopping mall.

  5. Great memories watching John Wayne with my parents!
Yesterday I planted seeds in several trays. Now friends and family have to walk around my little greenhouse in my guest bathroom. It was fun planting the seeds while it was snowing outside. Ha ha
The seeds are all flowers. I’m ready for that sunshine! I even have grow lights ready to turn on when they start to sprout!
How fun that the two best friends are flying together!
    Enjoy your day! Jacquie

  6. So many memories of old TV shows and movies here! I grew up on Roy Rogers and Wild Bill Hickock and all that... only when I got a little older did I get the real history that involved Wild Bill and a post office in the town I was born in... he wasn't a hero-sheriff like on the TV show at all.

And I love the pilot son and his friend growing up to fly together, at long last! The dreams of youth can come true with a lot of hard work along the way, huh?

Have a good day and I hope Sadie and Himself get along well today!

  7. Happy Family Day! Just talked w/the kids today. Both doing well. Sun is out, temperatures not bad, so will get Miss Lilly on a good walk to celebrate. Haven’t told her yet, though!

How awesome that DS and his HS friend flew together. What are the odds!

    LOVE the memes today.

OMG! That John Wayne meme is sooooooo appropriate to these days and times. Sad but true. BUT it did make me laugh.

Watched those shows for sure. Love Roy Rogers and Dale Evans the most.

HUGS and enjoy the day. BE SILLY!

  8. Hi Lynda: Happy Family Day. I watched those shows when I was young too. Life sure was less complicated back then! Hope those pilots enjoyed flying together. And hope your snow stops soon and the boys can get out. You sure are getting lots this year. Is the Lodge closed all week or just today. Hope himself gets to go ack on Wednesday. Have a good night and play the piano for the holiday. Hugs Brenda

  9. It's Kathy. Love the John Wayne quote and yes, it did make me laugh! I also loved watching all those cowboy shows. We had the best TV back in the day, didn't we! My daughter called me last night - apparently they had a relatively good day yesterday. She is really having such a time and I feel so helpless! Of course, if she would just listen to me.... Mom's still know best, in my opinion! I'm glad himself wore his hearing aids. That must make such a difference, even to him. I can't imagine not being able to hear that well! Our snow is melting. They're telling us we'll be back to mostly bare grass by the weekend. Daisy will be glad! Have a good day.

  10. Hi Lynda. Loved all the inserts but John Wayne made me roll. Thanks for your humor and positivity.
I'm happy for pilot son and friend. That's so neat.
Any plans to see near by boys today?
The sun is out and Fridays snow and ice crud is melting. It's actually around 50F this afternoon.
You have permission from all of us to act weird, be weird and do whatever makes YOU happy.
Hoping himself is in a good mood today although no Lodge until Wednesday. It's nice to not have a bunch of appointments. Breathing room.
Enjoy your day. Stay weird, spunky, positive and strong.
    Hugs and Blessings
