Some days you need a Big bowl of M&Ms-

"Happy New Year-"-- -On the Lunar Calendar , this is the year of the Dragon-
-Apparently there is a Lunar Calendar, based on monthly cycles  of the moon, in contrast to the solar Calendar, based on the monthly cycles. The Dragon symbolizes power and success--One is not supposed to clean your house or  you will sweep out your good luck--  not even shower, or you  will wash away  your good luck--

I must inform Sadie , the cleaning Lady, (who is really me!)-that she is definitely not supposed to show her face around here to-day---

Anyway, I am trying  very hard to be productive-
-So far, the 2 boys (as in dogs) have co-operated--done their business----plus I took the freezing rain (which had turned to ice) away from the bricks in front  of the garage----and now it is snowing outside--lightly--

Himself came down this morning--WITH HIS ONE HEARING AID IN---and--he hears what I say--Whatta difference!--I wonder why he had quit wearing them?--I am hoping to take them in, next week to the Hearing Place to see if they need cleaning-

It is the weekend---What are your plans for the weekend?--Hopefully I can get to play the piano---get a wee rest in, (with my book)--get to town to pick up the Chinese Food for supper-  walk the dogs, again and again and again---and  the best part, I  think Himself will even hear me  whisper sweet nothings to him!------

Enjoy the day---and--above all---  do not sweep away  any good luck!--- AND____
I must remember to be silent--close my mouth-- if anyone talks back to me--(not mentioning any names here!--but----  he does live in this house---

  1. It's Kathy. I did not know that I might sweep away my good luck - good thing I read your blog before I thought about cleaning today. No sweeping for me! My husband is on his way to watch his grandson in an Archery tournament - it's an hour away and really doesn't interest me. Apparently the gym is packed with kiddos! Who knew Archery was such a popular sport these days - never once heard about it when my children were in school. We are expecting my two little grandsons for dinner tonight. My daughter is going to spend some time with a few friends she grew up with. She really needs the break! We'll see how that goes. They've been having a hard time lately. The house is so quiet now - I think I'll read for awhile! Enjoy your day.

  2. Love the strong woman meme at the end of today's entry! "not to waste energy on foolishness" is wise, indeed.

Happy New Year. We have overcast skies here, and it's warm for February. I'm a water dragon, I discovered. Google is amazing, isn't it? I read up and it says those of us born in the water dragon year need to be careful in 2024! It warns not to interfere in our children's lives! OK, wise advice in just about any year!

Hope that ice clears up around your place.

  3. I had wondered if Himself was wearing his ears. I asked, but you never said. At least he has one an is willing to wear it.
Didn't like the fact that you still had ice. Luckily, we do not. It is colder, though. The sky is blue and the wind isn't as heavy.
Did a couple errands already. Just had a good lunch, and will snooze soon with Lucky in preparation for karaoke tonight. With the Super Bowl tomorrow and a tribute to Toby Keith tonight, it will be a fun time.
Thanks for the info about the lunar new year. Maybe it's the same as the Chinese new year? I've heard of that, too. It has animal years, also.
Your pets are good furbies. The just follow their instincts, and try to do what you want them to do. Except maybe Sushi. Kitties tend to do what they want to do first.
We have a cat shelter here for ferals and those owners have turned in. It's called Furball Farms. Wednesday they are having a fund raiser. The kitties run free, people get to interact (and hopefully adopt) them. They ask for at least a $5 donation, but you also get a large piece of pizza and a soda. Several of us are thinking of going.
All for now, sis, Lucky is crying for play or a nap. Gotta figure out which.
    Oh! I will not sweep the floor! {{{HUGS}}}

  6. Hi Lynda! I told Sadie not to come today! lol She did make a pie and go to the meat market and made dinner. No Sadie tomorrow. It is Sunday. Our favorite day! We must rest. It is cooler in Ohio than it had been but still it is 44 right now. So happy Himself had his ears on for you today. It makes a big difference for you and him. I hope you had a great day and even better tomorrow.
