Women's Day every-day----

We have mild temperatures---no day program---which means --no trip to town--- which also means--BOTH BOYS (as in dogs)  have been out-- but--little Lopez needs to go out again---No snow is falling---which is the best ever----The cupboards are full of groceries---and--I THINK----  I THINK--I can stay home all day---- Holy Cow!

You know, I never thought about  being not replaceable at home-----  Did you ever give that much thought?--Of course no-one can do what we have to do in our own homes----so, we must take care of "US"------

I am used to being alone---Himself doesn't hear me---so it's sorta like living alone--at least in my thoughts---The 2 dogs and the cat hear me, but do not reply to what I tell them--so----there is all of you----and that's why I chat away to you---and try to respond to all your comments, at the end of every day-----I truly appreciate what you have to say---
-seems like it's Women's Day everyday here ------

-To change the subject, Son#2 , the Pilot, is finally back in Toronto-- said it was a smooth flight all the way--- saw some lightning around Tobermory, Ontario---He sent some food pictures from Las Vegas---Kailua pork---- with 2 scoops of rice and a mac Salad---

                                                                                 and
-- He ate at an "L and L", restaurant--totally an Hawaiian place----He tells me that a            great many Hawaiians have moved to Las Vegas due to the high cost of living in Hawaii----

Time to get  this house  into some kinda shape---I haven't heard from Sadie, that cleaning Lady , who, as you know, is really me---
Have you ever jumped in the car and forgotten where you were going?--- Now , that would really be the pits---Do you make lists ?------where you are off to, and what to do there----I do not believe I could survive without my list---even tho, I try to remember that I am stronger than I believe---

We have to be tough----, tender, and laugh as much as possible--

Sending you all hugs -----so, until to-morrow-----

  1. Ahhhh…. My Mom used to say that saying, A bushel and a peck…. That brightened my day!
Yesterday we had rain, sleet, snow, hail, and even an earthquake. Didn’t feel it because it wad so small. We usually don’t have any, but once in awhile we do! Last weekend it was in the 60’s and I did yard work. So funny.
I used to go to Las Vegas at least twice a year for a girls trip. We didn’t gamble but loved the shopping! I liked leaving with something new in my suitcase. And the outlets were always so much fun. Good memories! The food was amazing and the people were so much fun to talk with. Loved the many cultures.
Today I’m meeting some friends for lunch. Looking forward to many giggles.
    Have a great week!!!!

  2. That last meme? My mama used to tell me that! Or was it grandma? Anyway, that's a phrase from my childhood. Thanks for reminding me.
It was nice this morning, but it's getting cold now. The wind is cold and gusty. We are due for snow this afternoon. By Friday it's to be almost 30 degrees above freezing again! Weird winter we're having!
The food photos are great I really enjoyed the food when my son brought me to Hawai'i with them. He is vegan...they have lots of great vegan restaurants.
I don't care about the cost of living...I want to live there! We were in Kona Kailua. Marvelous. That was 2 years ago this month.
It's great to be able to stay in the home you love for a day. I'm staying in, too. I placed an order for groceries on line. It's due to be here in about an hour.
I plan to investigate my new vacuum. It'll be challenging. Turn this dial one direction for floors, the other direction for carpet...one dial one way for the brush roll and the other way for something else. I'll have to have in instruction book with me.
I did end up taking a nap yesterday. Laid down with Lucky intending to get up soon as he was sleeping. I fell asleep, too!
Isn't it great to have our cupboards and refrigerators filled with our family's favorite foods? Love it.
Did your son come help with the snow?
Did Sushi investigate her new cat tree yet? She will, I promise.
    Maybe, staying home and no snow falling, you will be able to get some of your leisure activities...reading, piano, nap... in today. Whatever you do, sis, enjoy! {{{HUGS}}}

"I love you--- a bushel and a peck---
a bushel and a peck and a hug around your neck
s hug around your neck---a hug around your neck--I Do!"
Funny what you remember as a kid eh?
Kailua beach in Hawaii was so beautiful-- WE loved it there--Sushi was on the cat tree last nite but as soon as she saw me, she jumped off--- --And no---- the snow turned into ice because it was raining on the snow-- very treacherous out there--Snow and freezing rain to-morrow--AND---- Himself has Day Care--dunno what will happen there----We will just have to wait and see-- very mild outside right now---So--I must help Himself with dinner--Oh and yes. I am always happy- to see the text from Son#2 the pilot-saying--"LANDED"----- I always heave a sigh of relief-- LOLOL---= He said it was a smooth flight all the way--They are good--all the Pilots-- Hugs to yu dear girl-Lynda

  3. I love being able to read your daily notes! Thanks for sharing with us.
My life is so similar ( minus all that snow thank goodness) but today is quiet and sometimes that’s a blessing. Our son took hubby to doctor and he is physically fine even though he has refused to take his meds for this entire month.
Go figure, are we paying for what he doesn’t even need?
It’s just such an up and down toppsy turvy life isn’t it?

  4. A bit of trivia: Hawaiians love Las Vegas so much they call it "The 9th Island." And a bit more trivia: Gambling is illegal in Hawaii, and there are enough Hawaiians flying to Las Vegas that a Hawaiian lawmaker proposed a "Las Vegas Tax" for anyone flying from Hawaii to Las Vegas. / Leslie

  6. Stay home, take your time to breathe. Weather is crazy. We were 93 yesterday, 86 today, muggy heat in north Texas. By tomorrow, back down to the 40’s plus winds of 40+, so too chilled. Nuts! Glad you shopped!

  7. It's Kathy. I'm so glad himself had a good day yesterday and was able to keep up with you. It does seem that him getting out more often is making him feel more settled. Sometimes I feel like I'm living alone. My husband spends most of his day downstairs in his studio and Daisy and I live upstairs. Although we do eat most meals together. I do make lists too - every day. I have to put important things on them, like a reminder to call a grandchild for their birthday! Otherwise the day comes and goes and half the things I meant to do, don't get done! We are getting colder weather coming in with snow possible this afternoon and evening. And we'll wake up to 6 degrees tomorrow - but it's going back into the 60's this weekend. A lot of people are complaining about not having a real winter - not me, I think this has been the best winter ever!

  8. Hi Kathy--I sorta live alone also--no deep conversations here anymore--LOL--and I agree--a great winter--the less snow--the better with me! -- I talk to the cat and little feisty Lopez--and big Beau--but-I do miss the man I married--LOL--Oh well--=It could always be worse I guess--Hugs -Lynda

    1. It's Marti. I don't have many friends either (and I've lived alone almost 11 years now since losing hubby), so I'm used to my own company, other than the dog. Three back in Columbus (OHIO), where I used to live, only one that texts me, the other two I have lunch with once or twice a year. the one that DOES text me is always all about her, never asks how I am. A boyfriend who also (still) lives in Columbus, until he gets around to moving in, but really, no one to REALLY listen to me, as in "what are your thoughts, how was your day?" Oh, I email the boyfriend every day, I guess I do tell him, and what I've been up to.

Anyway, I'm so used to me and MY life, that I enjoy reading yours. If you enjoy us, well, we also enjoy you too! :)

So, today I went to work (9:30 to 2:30), then a few errands, and now home. It has been 64 degrees today and overcast. We are supposed to get severe t-storms later on. It's started to rain now, just after I got in the house, yay.

You know, I DO miss Sparkpeople. Maybe they don't even realize how much many of us miss it. It was perfect! Free, and so many groups and challenges to join. I remember most a team I was on called the Yellow Team, it was called "The Biggest Loser Challenge." We had so many really nice members on there who are my Facebook friends TO THIS DAY, from all over. Some, most of them, comment the most on my posts on Facebook over my own friends and family. I feel really close to them that way. Weird, huh?

    2. Yu live alone also Marti??--I did not know that.--Amazing that you can keep in touch even now with Spark friends--nice to have Facebook tho, isn't it?---- ---- i hear from my kids--but not a lot--mainly the Pilot--- the Policeman son does not agree that I blog-- Anyway, it is great for me that I keep the blog going and I'd miss all the friends on there if I ever stopped-- I believe women carry so much on their shoulders--with very little recognition-- and they just accept that as part of their life--=and if it wasn't for the women of the world, the world would never be the same--Anyway----- Thank yu for sharing a bit of "YOU"---nice!-- Hugs, Lynda

  9. Hi Lynda: Weather sounds not nice. This afternoon we got a lot of rain and some thunder and Lightning. But it has been mild. Tomorrow starts warm then gets very cold and rain may turn to snow and maybe ice. Hope your weather is ok tomorrow if you have to take himself to the Lodge. Glad the pilot got home ok. I am used to be alone too as I live alone with my dog. I had a couple of aunts and uncles that also retired to Vegas as it was cheaper to live there than L.A. Have a good night. Brenda

  10. Hi Lynda! I hope you enjoyed a day at home. No snow falling and groceries in the house is comforting. We are supposed to get severe weather in Ohio tonight. There are about 12 states in the path. The pilot found some yummy food as always. You must tell him that I appreciate him sharing it with us. He is very nice to take the time to do that. Yes, get in car and forget where you are going and then when you get there you forget where you parked the car. lol They call it popcorn brain when our minds just pop all over the place. I think we have too much going on sometimes but we stay strong and make the best of it. Even if we do kinda lose our minds at times. lol Have a great evening!

  11. Hi Lynda, another great update. I so enjoy hearing from you each day.
Hoping himself can go to center tomorrow but we have to wait and see what weather does.
I, too, am pretty much alone as my himself doesn't hear nor talk much. He's content sitting in his recliner other than when I go to the gym for classes and he walks the indoor track. I get lonely. At least you have the pets.
Glad pilot is back. I had no idea many Hawaiians are in Vegas. Interesting food pics.
Loved all your inserts. So very true that we are replaceable on a job but not at home. It's all ours to handle...at least at my house.
Oh gosh YES I make lists...to do, to call, to handle plus items needed from store.
    Hope your day went well.
    Hugs and blessings
