I thought growing old would take longer!

Good morning---  --and the above is me--with the "new Hair"--lighter--not as grey-- and--below is how I used to look--at least I felt like I used to resemble that picture--
We all need a good laugh---

Himself is at his Day Program---and he  could hardly wait to go this morning--- It is VERY cold outside--going down to minus 24C to-night--  and then-----right back up again right after the cold night-This is a very different winter for sure---

When I pick him up. I will circle round to "The Source"--where Amazon sent that mouse pad yesterday--It arrived into town to-day-- Right now I am using a magazine as a mouse pad and it is working quite well--one of you suggested that---
I hope that you are having a good day---That is important that you decide to make to-day a good day--Do you ever wish a day was longer than 24 hours?---Think of so much we could get done---but-----then--think of how tired we would get.

The above is so true isn't it?---  When I think back.,  I never realized that getting married would be so much work---there were the schools we all went to----then--the challenge of meeting "-Mr Right"-  Was he "Mr Right?-- then the children----the diapers--- decisions to use cloth or paper diapers-----finding a place to live--   helping hubby find work---taking on minor work to keep the home fires working---Mom used to always say, "A Woman's work is never done"----

I never ever thought of EVER being older than old----It just never crossed my mind----   And I still, at times, feel  like --no way-----  How did all this happen so quickly?---- Right now, I am probably older than my Grandmother was as I remember her--- Below was me in 1964-----

But----- Women , I believe carry a huge load---and, we never really stop to think about it-- We just do it and before we know it---  our families look like this----

I THOUGHT  GROWING  OLD WOULD TAKE LONGER!
Good thing we are strong--

  1. I think that every day! Where did the years go? I’ve been retired 12 years and I can’t recall what I did with those years!

  2. It's Kathy. Yes, I also thought growing old would take longer! In my mind I'm still that 20 year old, but my body simply doesn't agree! But we're still here and that's a plus. I'm so happy that himself was excited to go to the center, it gives you both some peace! Your hair looks wonderful! I need to get mine cut pretty soon! Things are quiet here today, my husband is off teaching his class. I don't usually see him much when he's home because he spends most of his time downstairs in his studio. But it's a whole different feeling when he's not home. Hopefully I'll finally get my bathroom cleaned!

  3. Lynda, always on track with your memes! I'm gonna share that I thought growing old would take longer one!
It's good Himself is at the day program. Hope he has a good lunch, too.
Your mouse pad will be useful. I don't use one. I just have my wireless mouse on my desk (well, it's really a big, long folding table). It works fine, but I have to clean the cat hair from the table quite often.
It's going to be almost 20 degrees warmer than freezing today. The sky is cloudy, but there is no precipitation.
Sadie helped me get some chores done already. Next I'm taking my vehicle and cast deprived friend to give blood. They pay her and give her cookies, too.
When we return, it will be lunch and then a lay down to satisfy Lucky. Hopefully, I can crawl out of bed and he won't know.
Has sweet Sushi used the new cat tree yet? If you don't push it, I bet she will. It might just take a few days.
Your hair is lovely! That photo of the family...how long ago was it taken.
It the photo of you, you look like a beach babe! ;-)
Will check later, sis. I love that you (and I) will make ourselves a good day. My kids' principal used to tell them that at the end of the morning announcements. I doubt many understood what he meant.

    1. I found that a magazine works as well as a mouse pad-but--Now I have the mouse pad--and no--Miss Sushi is not a fan of the new Cat Tree--I'm not giving up on her tho-- in time she will come to like it--I hope--Oh that picture was taken 2yrs ago--in the summer--Lynda

  4. Love the picture, your hair looks great. The last few years my hair is much thinner than it had been. Age really does take a toll on everything. I am happy that Himself looks forward to going to the Day Program. This is a real benefit for both of you. As usual your memes are great and I especially like the last one. Enjoy your day.

  6. And to think that our parents and our parent’s parents had those same thoughts…..and going back years, people said the same things…..women had to step back, always….defer to males……at least there is some progress. Your hair looks nice, take care.

  7. Hi Lynda: Your hair looks real nice. I never thought I'd get this old and how fast it happens! Unreal! Really like the last picture of aging gracefully. Now I know what you meant by a track pad. I've used them forever. Glad you got a new one. It's good that himself is looking forward to the Lodge now. The temperature was 11 here today and tonight it's supposed to go down to -14 or something like that tonight! Strange swings up and down. Have a good night. Brenda

  8. Lynda, your hair looks gorgeous.
I'm with you on how did I get this old so quickly? And, yes definitely, women carry the load. Likely, they always have. Great inserts today.
Happy himself wants to go to Lodge. It's good for his mood and gives you a wee break.
Hoping you don't get that predicted snow. I really don't want you to mess up your great hairstyle.
Stay strong and positive. You're the best!
Enjoy your mousepad. You'll learn to like it.
    Hugs and Blessings
