I now have a Mouse, but no mouse pad for under the mouse, so the typing flies everywhere--I went to 3 stores in town--no mouse pads available, so--- I just ordered one from Amazon-- They say it will be here to-morrow-- which is amazing service.
My 95 year old husband put this cat tree up last evening--all by himself--When I see that, there cannot be much wrong with him--It came n a large box---all in pieces--- considerably less money than if I bought one all assembled from the pet store---- It seems quite nice! I want to place it where Sushi can look down at us all in the living room--so she will not be so alone--I had asked Son#3 if he could assemble it--but he said, "Did you see all the screws and bolts that came with it?---No Way!"---
--(I didn't blame him!)-- but-- I saw Himself begin to undo the huge box, and before long, I went up here to the study, and there it was all together--- Son #3 said, "Holy Crap---- How on earth did a 95 yr old do that?"--(That made the 95 year old VERY proud!)
Get that smile on---- and be the best you can be to-day----and--I'll see you all to-morrow--------
All I can say is WOW!!! I am so impressed with Himself putting the Sushi tree together! I cannot do things like that. I get too confused! Lol Sushi will love it! I bet he has a great time at the Lodge. Makes it great for you! It is sunny and 56 here in Ohio. Rainy tomorrow. You will get used to your mouse and pad. It will all be fine. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteI really liked that track pad--but-- it just quit working--after about 2 yrs(which really might've been like 5 yrs)--Yu know how time passes--LOL Lynda
DeleteHoly Cow - that was a great job putting it together. Shows the frustrations and challenges with dementia - all is not equal in the brain. Big question - does Sushi like it ? Tell the people at the Lodge and they can brag on him and perhaps give them ideas of what he can do.
ReplyDeleteWeather has been strange everywhere I think. We are supposed to be 70 today and were in single digits last weekend. The buds are out on my daffodils and I'm in Illinois. Not normal for us.
Love the meme about old age isn't really so old. That's how I feel and plan to keep thinking it! Have a great day and take time to relax and enjoy yourself. Dot
I put Sushi on the new cat tree and she immediately jumped off--Crazy cat--but-in time eh??--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm so glad himself is happy going to the Center. It'salways good to get out of the house for awhile! And good for him putting together that cat tree! I'm sure Sushi will enjoy it. It looks like it was very complicated! I think today will melt the rest of the snow - going to be in the 50's by this afternoon. Daisy and I will take a longer walk today! I hope today is a good day for you!
ReplyDeleteKathy -- he gets ready to go to the Day Program and they meet him at the door and welcome him-plus he enjoys lunch there -plus he is away from me--- LOL---- Lynda-
DeleteHi Lynda
ReplyDeleteYOU are amazing and special every day.
HOLY COW, I can't believe hubs assembled THAT!! Wow, that's impressive. Good on him! Sure hope Sushi likes it.
I'm happy the people at day program are so nice. Show them what he put together. He might get side jobs lol.
You'll like the mouse and mouse pad. It is amazing how fast Amazon can deliver.
Hang in. Stay well, safe, happy and positive.
Hugs and blessings
Marge in sunny for today, St.Louis
Hi Marge--Your wether sounds good--It is like Spring here to-day but--I hear to-morrow will be snowy--nice winter tho--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda….Love your inserts and how true about now that we are ???, it just doesn’t seem so old! I am as active as ever BUT definitely a bit slower….I really hope to be able to maintain my activity level AND independence for another couple decades (or forever)!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cat tree……Sushi should love it. You’ll need to show us a picture when she decides to use it! That’s awesome that Himself put it together so easily! ❤️ Eissa7
It's amazing that Himself put that together--and yes, we re all active because we have to be-- hopefully forever----Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: Himself did a great job with the cat tree. Guess he has a lot of patience when he wants to! More than me. It's warmer here today too. I heard them say today that no snow for the next couple of weeks works for me! Sounds like himself really likes his program at the lodge. That is good. I use a portable mouse and have for a long time. What is a track pad? If that is the one on laptops, I hate it and never had luck with it. Have a good night. Brenda
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Track Pad--but not when it broke--but--I am getting used to the mouse etc-Mild here outside--strange winter for sure--Lynda
DeleteLove the new cat tree, glad Himself was able to handle it. Good for his self-esteem. I remember how much he hated the idea of the Day Program - glad it turned out to be a winner for him. You are such a strong and caring person, Lynda. Love being a small part of 'your story'.
ReplyDeleteDeb-- always good to hear from yu- Yes. Himself vey happy to-day that his kids were impressed with the cat tree he built--and that Day Program gets him out to see the outside world and to talk to people other than me! Lynda
DeleteYou can use a magazine, note pad, etc as a temporary mouse pad. I've done it. - Straitlover/Lisa
ReplyDeleteThank yu so much--I shall try the note pad--Lynda
DeleteWow! The doc has not lost his touch! I really think we CAN do a lot even when we're "old-er"!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am so glad you got hooked up with that day program... it's a huge help to you AND to Himself! Hope the mouse pad shows up on schedule, too.
Barb--Amazing eh--at 95 he put all tht together-- aND--tht Dy Program is a blessing--$150/month--- includes a hot lunch- and he returns home happy--just to be out in the world--Lynda
DeleteI give yu hope??---YU give me hope--and joy-- Hugs, Lynda
ReplyDeleteThat dementia is so strange, isnt it? It has not affected that part of the brain for figuring out how to put things together, follow through, etc. Some people can remember things way back, as if it happened yesterday, while others can memorize poems where before they could not. Fascinating!
ReplyDeleteHimself did an excellent job on the kitty climber doodad...
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing yourself Lynda.
Cuz my original comment didn't make it, I messaged you on FB Messenger. {{{HUGS}}}
ReplyDeleteSo impressed that Himself assembled that cat condo! And very funny that Son #3 felt it was beyond his skill level. My two kitties would LOVE those fuzzy bucket seats, I'm pretty sure. Very nice! You'll have to let us know how Sushi likes it and which "seat" becomes a favorite.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job by your dear husband on the cat tree💫 Carol
ReplyDeleteGreat job Himself! I hope Sushi enjoys the cat tree! Hugs and have a great day ALICIA363
ReplyDeleteWow! That is an awesome cat tree! I think my kitties would like one like that. I have 2 cat trees/climbers that sit side by side in my front window and my cats like to sit in them and watch the birds at my feeders out there....and they like to sleep in the sunshine up there! Fred did an awesome job putting yours together!!!! Mine are not as fancy as yours! Here I am vacationing in Florida and I find out the weather back at home is warmer than here! hahaha! Oh well - at least I can enjoy the gulf waves hitting the sand and the sun feels good - but not wearing a swim suit!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that Himself likes going to the daycare and they take good care of him!
ReplyDeleteUmmm . . . yup . . . what son #3 said! That’s amazing that Himself put that together himself! Amazing.
We’re supposed to have snow showers tomorrow, too. BUT will stay in the moment and enjoy TODAY!
Yup . . . dusting off the attitude. LOL Sometimes you just need it to make it through the day!
hugs and blessings
