If you're happy and you know it, stay in bed.

So--if you are still in bed, yu might not read this 'till  afternoon--and it might be warmer then outside-- It is minus 15 C outside here--C__O_L___D-
-Little Lopez- wore his parka and waddled outside with big Beau and I-------AND-----then did nothing---  It was just too cold---

I have run out of outside salt-and , --Himself, who never walks outside--on the ice--- (which is everywhere) --had a total " ceniption" (I just made up that word!)----which means,---  HE FREAKED OUT!---
I came back in from the ice everywhere, and announced  I was going to buy a couple bags of "ice melt" whenever I get to town--

"No---No-----NO--O-oooo", he shouted back at me, "because all that ice will melt soon"-------

"Well, before it ever does, I will be in hospital with a broken hip," I replied--,

Some people never listen to a woman (who tries her best, by the way)---  and they never listen, in particular, to the person who takes good care of them?--

"If I end up in hospital, you-will have to go to.???....AND..THAT'S HOW IT WENT!--  Lord Love A Duck!-
Now , if I had've just stayed in bed eh?
Life on a Sunday morning---wth a older Gentleman-----sometimes its best just to keep the mouth shut and do whatever needs to be done--  no discussion-

Remember the above?--- Did any of you have these when the children were growing up?--I think they were Tupperware--  I used to fill each cup with juice, or cool aid, put the whole think in the freezer , and if it didn't tip  , spreading juice all over the freezer, the kids could grab one  on a hot day--I have never seen these anymore--I always thought I was saving  $$$  by making them. ----dunno if  I saved money --????

I shall paste the above in front of my face--Sadie, that cleaning Lady, (who is really me) never comes on a Sunday---She always told me that Sunday is her day to relax--do whatever the Spirit moves one, to do---play the piano---dance----music can be very calming---
I do hope that your day will be special---and, now, I must get off of here and---BE POSITIVE__a great way to be on a Sunday--(before I get out to buy the salt)------

  1. Enjoy your Sunday! A good day to relax, Sadie (a.k.a. Lynda)! We've had a warm spell down here, and yesterday's precipitation came in the form of rain, which drenched my friend and I on the way from the parking to the arena and back, for a women's basketball game.

((( hugs ))) and hang in there!

  2. OH wow! Definitely weather that makes you want to stay in the warm bed! At least now we’re getting a hint of sun after a gray start!

You are right to buy salt melt! You do not want to slip taking the boys out (or doing anything else you need to be outside for!) Yup . . . is you fell and injured yourself, what would Himself do?? Good you stopped to let him think about that!

Oh yes! We had those Tupperware popsicle/frozen treat molds. LOVED them. Wish I still had them. I DO have goldenrod Tupperware cannisters, though. LOVE them. Got them when I was . . . 18. LORD!

Sunday is definitely a day to relax just a little! Just talking about that w/Jason. We always felt guilty relaxing in our younger days. NO MORE! LOL

HUGS and a sweet Sunday to you

  3. You definitely need salt melt because it would be terrible if either one of you fell. Our bones aren't as strong as they once were and they could break so easily. I hope you take the time to relax today and play the piano, read your book and have a little nap. Today is your day! Enjoy! Hugs!

  4. Lynda, you are so funny! Humor mixed with frustration should have its own word.
Saved a couple memes again...the little hippie is adorable.
I loved he purr on, too.
Did you remind Himself how much walking, shoveling, doggie dooing, etc. that you need to do on the ice?
It's colder here, too. The cars were icy. I guess we just need to believe in the groundhog's early spring.
Karaoke was fun. My 'adopted daughters' came, I took Joanne with the bariatric walker (someone else loaded it for me), and just took my cane.
I just climbed up on stage with one of my adopted daughters once to do the duet we always do together when she comes. Are you familiar with, "When You Say Nothing at All" by Keith Whitley or Alison Krauss?
Sadie doesn't come here on Sunday, either. Neither does her twin. Sunday IS a day of rest, especially after karaoke. I didn't get to bed 'til almost 2 AM.
We will both have a busy week. Does Himself have the day program tomorrow? If so, you will probably have an errand or two in town. Hope it goes well for you.
    If today is (and it is) for rest, you should squeeze in some time with your kindle, a nap, or music. What the heck...how about all three?! {{{HUGS}}}

  5. It's Kathy. We had those ice things too. My kids loved them. I still have some of my old Tupperware but most has gone now. I love the 'stay in bed' song and I agree! Some days it's just not worth getting up. Sorry it's so cold and icy where you are and I agree with you - you need salt, or sand, or something so you don't fall. A few dollars spent on that is certainly worth not going to the hospital for a break. We've been so lucky to not have much ice this year but awhile back it rained and then froze. I put a bunch of sand on the step out of the garage so Daisy wouldn't slip going out or coming in. I hope you can relax today - that's my plan!

  6. I can't get the Happy and you Know It song out of my head now but I sure do love this version! That's my new motto!

Our weather has been beautiful - in 50's and 60's last few days with sun. Wonderful for Illinois! I can't wait for spring to be here and stay! The Tupperware frozen pops brought back lots of memories. Mine never seemed to work as well as they should have but that was OK - I tried!

Have a relaxing day and be careful on the ice - we didn't have any this year so far and only a trace of snow so we lucked out for sure.

  7. Hi Lynda Marge in St.Louis. I loved the stay in bed song. Not that I'd do that but loved it. My mom didn't have the Tupperware pops but I've seen them. I no longer have any Tupperware and im not sure what happened to it.
Im not sure how to spell canipshun fit but its a word that got used at our house pretty often lol. Just ignore himself and his comments...life will be easier. Can't take chances falling with all the trips outside with the boys.
Relax today. Play your piano, read and have a nap or even better all 3.
    Enjoy your day dear lady.
    Hugs

  8. Hi Lynda: We're having great weather right now. It's going to be good all week. And sunny too - the best part! You need some warmer weather to to melt some of that ice. Ignore himself if you can. He doesn't realize that if you fell, there would be no one to look after him - but of course he doesn't think he needs looking after!! Hope he goes to the Lodge tomorrow - will put him in a better mood. Relax tonight and play the piano and read your book. And remember you are strong! Hugs Brenda

  9. Oh Lordy, just consider talking to Himself as talking to a toddler at this point, no questions that are impossible or require answers. No reasoning ability left, not his fault, but causes tension and arguements, which wear you out. And where would Himself go if you got very ill? Is that written down in legal papers? I hope you can get some of that sand soon.. careful now…..

  10. I hope your cold spell leaves soonly and that ice too! I would get that salt down because you can't fall! Everyone would be in trouble if you could not care for them. Lopez is adorable in his little parka. I love it! Yes, I remember those from Tupperware. I think we had them growing up. I am the same way on Sundays but today Sadie was here all day and I walked Tommy. It was sunny and 48 here in Ohio. He gets neutered tomorrow so I wanted to get him out for a good walk. I will be glad when he gets through this. I know he will be fine but it always makes me feel so bad for them having this done. I am a wimp! lol I hope your day was wonderful!

    3. Buy the salt and don't mention it...you cannot fall and get hurt.
Safety first....yes dear and go on and do what you need to for safety sake.
lol.....We feel for you Lynda...play that piano and just relax and let him blow off steam.
