Feb. 29th--- then.....MARCH....

Good  "Leap Year" Day-- Feb. 29th--- the extra day to February-- Minus 22 C here outside--VERY cold!  The good news is, yesterday we did NOT lose power--Isn't that amazing? We had a multitude of  weather situations--- freezing rain--ice pellets--- snow--high winds---  and still, our "power" stayed on-- which meant--HEAT-----  I did NOT venture out onto the roads---- but--to-day---is------
HAIR DAY----so-- I shall go to town---

Son #2, the Pilot, is flying off to Mexico to-day--He says there will be 4 Pilots so he will get a bit of a rest----I told him that you all appreciate his photos of food---so--of course there will be more Mexican dishes appearing to-morrow--and maybe  even a MacDonald's  something--

Are you excited , because --to-morrow-----is--------MARCH-------Why do I always think of March as "windy"  ?---  We usually do get a "Bobby Duzer" of a snow storm, (the last one)--- in March---  just before April appears--We can handle that however--because, we know by then, that Spring is around the corner----

Yes, I believe to-day we shall have a good day--
-The 2 boys (as in dogs ) have been out --  Lopez will have to go again--he was not too happy with the minus 22 temperature this AM. He is so tiny --so close to the cold ice-y ground. My heart went out to him--he wears his parka, but has his bare toes on the ice.

Hopefully Sadie , that cleaning lady (who , of course , is me!)- will appear again to-day to dust the living room and give it a good "once over" , as Mom used to say---  (Where do all these expressions originate--?----  Do you ever wonder about that?)-----  "TO GIVE IT A GOOD ONCE OVER"---  Did your Mom ever say that?  Lord love a Duck!

I see the sun is out here-----Himself will be home to-day--His Day Program is to-morrow- and by "Hook or by Crook" (another of Mom's sayings)-- he will be going in the morning--"--
I  pretend that I am right a lot of the time--but-- I really do not know what I am talking about--LOL
Make your day special in some small way--- or--smile at someone , and make their day special--
ALWAYS BE STRONGER THAN YOU THOUGHT YOU  COULD BE___

  1. Lynda, even in hard times you find smiles in your memes.
Promise all of us that you will take great care on your trip for your hair. You do not want to fall on the ice and break your pelvis...trust me on that.
It's not as cold here as it is there. It's about 20 degrees warmer. It is due to be 52F (11.11C) later this afternoon! Our snow will soon be gone.
March winds bring April showers. I always add April Showers bring May flowers and June brides.
Love the memes, as always. Guess which I saved and will post?
Sadie did figure out that vac yesterday. Works great, but is heavy and kinda hard to maneuver. Today Sadie will wash the floors and dust.
Was able to connect with the bank and get things settled. Had a great conversation with the representative.
I will probably nap later as I got out of bed much earlier than usual. Did you get your leisure activities done? I need to read more on my Kindle instead of just playing solitaire.
    Lucky needs me, dear, and I haven't even eaten breakfast yet. I'll check later. Make yourself a safe and happy day. {{{HUGS}}}

  2. Hi Lynda, it's Kathy. Thank you for your support and prayers. Court did not go real well. Bryan is asking for things - he wants the kitchen table back. Says Lauriellen "cleaned him out". We made a list of what she took and what she left - what she left is much, much longer. Honestly, this man is so petty! So she's upset and responded to her lawyer, which I have to review. But yes, we do what we have to do!!! Yes, I'm so happy that tomorrow is March! We also can get a doozy of a snow storm in March but maybe not this year. This February has been the warmest February since they've kept records. The snow we got on Tuesday is nearly gone and it will be in the 60's this weekend. I love the memes today, put a smile on my face for sure. My mom also used the phrase Once Over! That's what I need to do today as well. Enjoy your hair day!

Well, hope Sadie just doesn’t wear herself out!

    OMG!!! BWAHAHAHAHA on the memes.

And yes, do take good care of yourself getting to your hair appointment.

  4. I was wondering, Lynda, what activities does Himself do at the day program? Or is it just being around people that brings him joy?

  5. Hi Lynda, happy hair day. Please be careful out there. My gosh it's cold there. 40F today with sun in St.Louis.
Yep, give it a once over is something my mom said too.
Could not help but laugh at that one insert...you know the one. Thanks for sharing.
By hook or by crook himself IS GOING tomorrow. Time for him to get out. Dont work Sadie too hard...especially with her fresh hairdo.
Mexico sounds warm about now. March brings winds and storms plus a chance of a big snow. The time is going by fast now and soon we'll have more daylight. Plants are confused here with the recent warm temps. Pollen is WAY up as things try to bud.
Keep smiling. Never loose your humor. Your the best!
    Hugs and blessings

  7. Hi Lynda: Poor Lopez, He wasn't made for winter! You asked about what happened to my dog. I took some meatballs out of the micro and some just rolled off the plate and she saw them before I could get them and "no" means nothing to her! So she burnt her entire esophagus and has lots of scar tissue which means she can't eat. Anyway, hope himself gets to go to the Lodge tomorrow as he hasn't been there all week. And glad the weather is a bit better today and hope the power stays on. Enjoy your hair day. Brenda

  8. Hi Lynda! Your random memes crack me up! LOL I hope you enjoyed your hair day and the roads were good. It was sunny and 38 here in Ohio. A lot of cloudy days next week. I really love sunny days! How was your day? Tommy, that little yorkie brat puppy, got a paper towel today and I didn't know it. Shredded it to pieces, uhhh! I think I will send him to hang out with Lola and Apollo when they come. You won't notice one more, will you? LOL Have a great night!
