"Keep Your Chin Up!"

I have been trying to hang pictures  in this house--They were taken down when the paint Lady came--and--never went back up, as I really thought we might be moving-- Funny how things turn out isn't it?--If you remember, I thought we would move to a smaller home--As it turned out, all the smaller houses need work-mega $$$ spent  on the interior of them---  most needed a garage--and a Landscape artist to make the yard useable--Most had stairs either going up or going down-----

I kinda gave up looking--decided it might even save us  $$$  if we just stayed where we are--but---  because we never really knew for sure if we were coming--or going----  the pictures never were placed back on our walls--to-day I decided , that we are here---to stay--for now--so--- get the pictures back up where they belong--  fix things that we should have done years ago--like the water pecs down stairs--add a water softener and clean out the garage---The problem with the garage is, that I do not recognize what tool we need or what to give way-- --and--- during all this---himself does not seem aware that  this is even going on--weird  isn't it?

This morning, I took all our Halloween decorations to the Lodge--and this AM I carted a lovely outside Christmas tree to the Lodge--They seemed very happy to receive all of this----  It sorta feel like  I am preparing to die---  LOL--HOPEFULLY NOT---- but--I have never had to get rid of so much stuff--good stuff too! ----I guess they call it "DE-CLUTTERING--"--something my Mom and Dad never thought of doing--- but-----me and my children eventually were doing it after they went to the great beyond--

Funny----  yesterday, I went for the mail, and low and behold, there was a cheque for Himself--for a substantial amount--I couldn't believe my eyes---something we were not counting on, but very happy to receive after doling out quite an enormous amount to the Plumber--odd that it came now--like a gift from Heaven--- Weird isn't it?--like someone was looking down on us--Maybe someone  was --??????
It is a crazy life isn't it?--  Not much use worrying too much, because, usually everything does turn out , in the end--- don't you find??
It's time to get that "man of the house"----I'll probably take Lopez with me in the car--Oh, I did stop at the car wash this morning also--
Are there times n your day that you wish a Prince might stop in and carry you to his castle and wait on you, hand and foot?---Would you go?---  I dunno if I'd trust  a Prince--- but it does sound tempting---love you all----  and, as Dad always said, ------------------

  1. Busy lives! I totally understand not putting pictures up until decisions about moving versus staying were made, but made they have been. I had been fence-sitting about downsizing / moving / etc. and it always sounds like SO MUCH WORK! In the end, I got a puppy... and that is making my life much more grounded. It's stopping a lot of my indecision based procrastination! I don't drag my feet as much and decide a chore can wait until tomorrow because the puppy is sleeping now... move and get the chore done while the puppy is sleeping!

Hope you have a good Friday and a wonderful weekend!

  2. Lynda, that meme about growing old made me laugh! Saved it to share, of course.
Yes, I know about decluttering. We have a give-away table in our community room. I have been putting lots of stuff on it, and have more to take down...clothes that are too big, food stuff I got that I'd thought I'd use. Now it's just taking up space. I'm out of room for knick knacks and thought of getting rid of some of those, too. Or just packing some away and switching out with those on display in a few months.
Dreary weather here today. Rainy, cool...it will go on all day, night and the first half of tomorrow.
Himself is probably better not knowing what's going on. He'd be ranting all over.
You will live where you are led. If you are to move, the perfect location will show itself.
Already have a couple errands done today. Now Sadie is here. I'd better get offa this computer and help her.
Enjoy the rest of your day, dear sis. And of course, my favorite quote from the Law of Attraction, "Everything always works out for me." It's like you said...except in the switch from 'usually' to 'always.' {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  3. It's Kathy. I haven't seen any hummingbirds this year. In fact, I have rarely seen any in my neighborhood - only once or twice. What we do have are lots of squirrels and bunnies. Yesterday two of the bunnies were either fighting or playing with each other. I need to have my husband help me fence in the garden so I can start planting soon - but for the next few days we're getting rain! I also love the meme with the lady - so true! We need to do a lot of de-cluttering. I was the one left to take care of ALL the things my mother left behind and she was somewhat of a pack rat! Every closet was full of her clothes, even a big closet in the basement. I found things stashed all over the house and there were several boxes in her bedroom. It took me forever! I don't want that for my children. Hope the rest of your day goes well!

  4. Hi Lynda: Decluttering is the worst chore. I've had to do it every time I've had to move in the last 10 years. It is good to do but hurts to get rid of stuff when you do it. You're not preparing to die - but working at getting more organized for the future. The kids will appreciate it. And the Lodge appreciates all the gifts. Hopefully the cheque is from someone you know it could be from. There's so many scammers these days. Love the memes. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda

  5. Hi Lynda,
Nice himself got an unexpected cheque Wahoo.
May as well hang wall decorations since you're planning to stay. None of us know what the future holds so go ahead and decorate your freshly painted walls.
Decluttering/purging is a GOOD THING. Think of it as helping your kids. Some day IF you downsize you'll have less stuff to pack. I'm glad the lodge will enjoy the decorations.
Raining in St.Louis...supposed to rain most of the weekend. That's OK as it's NOT snow.
    Hugs and Blessings

  6. Yay for unexpected money just when you need it to pay the pipe bill! And, I agree, if you're not for sure going to move you may as well enjoy your pictures on the wall. It may be easier to stay where you're at in terms of kerfuffle with fixing up a new place as well as possible confusion issues with Himself due to a big move and adjusting.

I will say that while decluttering is not always that fun, it eventually makes life easier as there's less stuff to move when cleaning or getting to what you need. I spend fifteen minutes most days looking for things I don't really need so it's not overwhelming, then when I'm out doing other things I drop off the items at the charity shop. I like having more room in my home and am happy knowing my children won't have as much to deal with when I go home. Win-win.

    Happy Friday!

  7. Hi Lynda! I hope you got your pictures back on the wall. Always something to do. You must feel good about the new water pipes and softener. Happy you got a check to help out with all of that! It was sunny and 70 here in Ohio today. It had been pretty chilly in the 40's so it was nice. It will be 80 on Sunday and Monday. It will be great! Hope you are doing well and keeping your chin up! Hugs!
