a new day--Make it a good day---Big Beau returned home here to-day--Well, his ashes are now here in his home--
Happy tears full of good memories flowed from my eyes--I called Son#2, the Pilot, and he said, "Welcome home Beau--"---and more happiness dripped down my face-
-Beau was only 9 yrs--- came to us with a heart that used to skip a beat --They called it A Fib--I called the breeder, who told us that she would replace him--"No Problem", she said--- We discovered his heart problem at about 2-3 yrs of age--when he was being neutered----They told us it was a bit of a problem in Shepherds----_ So, a Canine Heart specialist was contacted and Beau was put on heart medication--
We restricted his activity somewhat---as well as his diet, and decided that he was our dog, no matter what, and decided to accept that fact that we might only have him 2 yrs---- and, 2 yrs went by quickly and, he was taken off the heart medication---so----we decided we may only have Beau 4 yrs----or ---whatever--- and then I even forgot that he had a heart problem--and, we had Beau for 9 yrs---and he passed suddenly not too long ago, as you all remember--but--Big Beau ,was my good friend, and a great treasure, and, is now home where he belongs--So, it has been an eventful day--
Himself is at his Day Program--Of course he did not want to go, but with a little friendly persuasion--well, you know--It's a change for him--gets him out of the house, they call him "DR YOUNG"--so respectful---which he likes-and he has lunch there---which he likes--and it is good for me-- I get to text you all--Yesterday I spread the fertilizer all around the grass going to the lake-AND--- 2 very nice men are coming Friday to take apart 2-3 docks which Himself built maybe 30 yrs ago--They are donating the wooden planks on the surface of each dock to a neighbour who has great plans for the wood-
Queen-agers ----senior women--- great name I'd say--We have become "Queen-agers"----I like it! Whatever we are called, we are good people--doing what is necessary to make each day better---
and being a woman, in to-day's world is not easy--but-------
It's Kathy. I like Queen-agers! Thanks for the support - yes, now at least I know what's wrong and someone will be able to fix it. At least I hope so! I got out yesterday and did some yard work and it looks like we will have several nice days with little rain so I should be able to get a lot of it cleaned up! I can do the work outside because I can sit down. Too much standing bothers my back and my leg. Not able to walk with Daisy every day but trying to get out every other day! I'm glad you convinced himself to go to his day center, I'm sure it's good for him to be around other people! Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteKathy--When will yu get that hip/leg fixed?---- It must be painful--- I got a garden weeded to-day--but we do have black flies now--ahd to wear a bug suit--Lynda
DeleteFrom henceforth I will consider myself a Queen-ager !!
ReplyDeletePHOENIX1949
Yes, we are Queen-agers--LOL--Lynda
DeleteLove the Queen-Ager for senior ladies! I has a nice ring to it hahaha! And I am glad you have such wonderful memories of Beau. You were so good to him and he lived as long as he did because you were wonderful parents to him.....may he rest in peace now that he is back home with you for his final resting spot. I am getting weepy-eyed thinking about this. We love our furbabies so much and it is so hard to lose them.....
ReplyDeleteAwww Sandra--- Our pets keep us going don't the--Yes Beau sits in the dining room , near the piano--He loved music-- Lynda--
DeleteWe had a shepherd that was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at about year old, breeder told us the same thing, they they would happily replace her to,honor the guarantee. At that point we were already attached and kept her. She passed at 6 years old. These breeders and their guarantees know darn well, most people will not give up their dogs once attached. I always felt guarantee should be $x.xx returned to help cover medical expenses incurred.
ReplyDeleteI bet yu are happy yu gave your precious dog a loving home--Lynda
DeleteAwwwwww, wonderful that you now have Beau, albeit not in his physical body. Lots of good memories. He’s over the rainbow with the rest of his friends. He’ll be there for you. And have to agree . . . these breeders make the offer to "replace" the pup w/the problem, knowing full well that YOU GET ATTACHED and won't do that! *SIGH*
ReplyDeleteGlad you got Himself to the Day program. Definitely good for both of you!
OH DEFINITELY I think Sr. women are Queen-agers!
YOU are amazing, beautiful and STRONG!
Here’s to a wonderful Wednesday.
Hugs

Hi Barb--- Life is tough isn't it?--- But we are doing it!--Thank yu for helping me , everyday=-Lynda
DeleteGlad Beau is back home. Now you know he is resting peacefully. Breeders make these promises knowing you won't give the pup up. Glad himself went to the day program. Even he doesn't want to go he always enjoys himself. And you get things done. Play the piano tonight for Beau and Lopez. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteYes --He sits across from the piano--He used to enjoy me playing--I think he told me to put him there--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda! Yes, we are Queenagers. Lol Ahh! So happy Beau is home. It is comforting! We have our little yorkie ashes in our family room with a little porcelain yorkie sitting on the box on a built in book shelf. It’s where we hang out. It feels good having him with us. Nice day in Ohio. Hope your day was nice, too. Friends and ice cream, that is US! Lol
ReplyDeleteYes---friends and ice cream--That 's what life is all about--Lynda
DeleteWelcome home to Beau. It is so hard.
ReplyDeleteWhen our Emma passed we also had the ashes brought back. I made a memory garden for her ashes. You can even get a little garden flag from Amazon with her picture and dates on it. Well, that was last year. Her ashes are still in their container under the desk where she loved to lay. One of these days she will go out to the yard, but I’m just not ready yet. So silly, but it is what it is.
Beau was a very lucky dog. Hugs to you.
Jacquie
Emma was a great girl-- Too bad they can't talk--but--they do in a way--They teach us to love--and to be kind--I understand--We have a pet cemetery , but for now , Beau will sit in out dining room watching us--oh--He told me that it is good to be home here--lynda--
DeleteI totally identify with your thoughts about Beau: "He's our dog no matter what!" I feel the same way about Ember... if it were to turn out she had some "defect", it would not matter to me a single bit! She's my canine baby!
ReplyDeleteBeau was indeed lucky to have you!
Yu are amazing--yu are a woman after my own heart-- Ember is one lucky girl!-- Hugs, Lynda
DeleteSis, I'm being sure to comment right away today. Did you see my very late comment (sorry) last night?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the neighbor is reusing the wood. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Remember that phrase?
Big Beau may be at his old home, but you know he is really in Spirit, no longer in the physical. Has he appeared to you yet...out of 'the corner or your eye,' in a dream, have you heard him, etc?
I have accomplished a lot today and LILACS ARE IN BLOOM! I will pick lots tomorrow. I get a bouquet for several other ladies in my building, too.
Whatever you do, (like you said) make it a good...no great...day! {{{HUGS}}}Love, Maggie
So glad Big Beau is home where he belongs🧡 Carol in FL
ReplyDeleteGlad Beau is home. Today is my birthday....merciful heavens, we dodged tornadoes, high winds and so forth all day and til 1AM Thursday morning. What a day.
DeleteMy grandson & granddaughter from Massachusetts sent me flowers, Barbara got me flowers for my birthday and a 2nd
bouquet for Mothers Day.
Hope thing s go smooth and perhaps the wood is gone before Himself notices..lol
