It's MAY DAY!

We have rain---clouds--coolish----outside of course--but--inside---all is great!--

And if the rain upsets you, remember these days?--And ---that was ME!

So, I hope that your day is going  well--already, the above picture must make your day absolutely fabulous-- Here, Himself is at his Day Program--He went willingly----which made my day so much easier--

This is MAY DAY---May the 1st---When my young sister , was young, like maybe-7 or 8 yrs, -she and her classmates, wore white dresses, and held the end of the ribbons, which were attached to a tall pole, and as they danced around the pole, holding the ribbons, they would sing, "We'll dance around the May Pole"-I always thought that was so unique--  When I was about that age, we chanted., "Hurrah, Hurrah, the first of May, outdoor necking starts to-day!"--  May Day marks the first of Spring, in the Northern Hemisphere.---the end of a long cold winter.

Well, no matter how your day is going, remember ---you are Braver, than you believe--stronger than you seem,  and smarter than you think----  But you know that-----

Some days being a woman is not easy--like---  when I try to declutter the garage--- and I have no idea what all the tools are for, which are in piles all over the place--no rhyme or reason as to where they are placed or what they are for-- Do I give them away?-------  Are they tools which are necessary?--It seems like leaving my baking  tins all over the house---"-Just figure out a way and declutter the garage---and do not complain-- "---- it says below--

Sadie , the cleaning Lady is here--who , as yu know, is really me--I best give her a hand---  then I may Dance around the May Pole a bit-----well, I may as well dream ?---eh????

  1. I had to laugh about your garage. I have been trying to declutter the garage since my husband died 7 years ago and it is slow going. I ignored it for 4 years and then got a relative to come and take some of the stuff like bikes, a huge table saw, and a bunch of other tools. However, the tools that were left seem to have multiplied (who needs 28 screwdrivers?) and I have no clue what they are used for or what to do with them. I do occasionally have to use a hammer, or pliers, or a screwdriver, but the rest of it could probably go. I have instead focussed on all the other stuff that was stored out there and have managed to get rid of a lot, but like I said, everything just seems to multiply overnight. So, I wish you luck, and maybe one of your sons could come and deal with the tools.

    1. Well yu made me laugh---because that seems to be happening here--I get the garage kinda looking better and then , I go out and tools are once again strewn all over--I carted so many full cans of motor oil over to the garbage bins-- and boxes of nails etc etc etc--but--- there is still a lot to do--and it seems to get worse some days---Lynda

  3. Ohhhhh yes, would rather rain than . . . SNOW. Definitely.

Good day today. Got Miss Lilly to the groomer and she was good as gold. Wish she’d let me groom her, but . . . nope. Not having any of that. Has to be the groomer.

While she was being groomed stopped for a few groceries. Have to shop so carefully!

LOL! Hurrah, hurray, the first of May, outdoor necking starts today. Cute!

Ohhhhhh, my Himself has a big worktable in the basement. Has a nice vice grip on it, too. But tools all over! I finally got a peg board where the tools are hung. But . . . can you guess where the tools are left? ON THE TABLE, ALL OVER. So I just put them in their spot and say nothing. I guess I am my Father's Daughter. He had a peg board where he hung his tools. He even labeled the spaces! Ok, I didn't go that far. LOL, but it's a fun memory. At least my Himself uses them.

Definitely have to do a May dance or two.

    Hugs

  4. Lynda, happy Himself is at his program. It makes it easier for you.
Sadie is really a big help. She won't be needed here 'til tomorrow.
There's an app for your phone. You can take a photo of an object, upload it and the app will tell you the name and description. It's on Reddit. I was gonna do it, but they want all your info. That means lots of emails, texts and ads from them. No thanks.
Could one of your sons help you sort the garage...especially the tools?
Then you could donate the rest to that thrift shop.
I got a new smaller pair of jeans at mine today. And went to Walmart for cat food and my favorite grocery store for salad makings.
I woke before 5 AM and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm almost ready for a snooze with Lucky.
Hope you accomplish more of what you want today, sis. And get some rest with Himself later, too. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

    1. oh---- What is this app called??--I need that--REDDIT--You are so smart!-- Isn't that awful when you get up earlier than you wanted to?? Fred has this clock that reflects on the ceiling--but on my side of the bed, its upside down and some mornings I look at my phone and it says 4am--then climb back into bed--raining here everyday-- Nice to get new jeans-- Lynda

  5. It's Kathy. I'm with you about the garage! I have no idea what all that stuff is inside ours. Tom has rows and rows and rows of boxes of nails and screws that haven't been used in over 20 years! They just sit there like decorations. And drawers of all kinds of things. If I need a simple hammer I have no idea where to look - so years ago I bought my own! Couldn't your sons help you with that. Maybe they'd even want some of the treasures found in your garage? Happy May Day to you! I feel like I remember going around a May Pole many many years ago! We have a sunny day today, no rain expected. But more rain coming in a day or two. I know we need it but couldn't it just rain at night!!! Have a good day.

    1. Kathy--same here--drawers and drawers of screws and nails etc etc etc----every shelf full of stuff-- I carry a lot over to the bins of garbage, every garbage day-- I just set it beside the bins and it disappears-- Lynda

  6. Danced around a May Pole 70 years ago, and then it was not allowed here in the states anymore, some group panicked. Those Hard Truths About Life are even harder because some old fools in the Universe did not plan ahead properly, so we are left in an unhappy mess. Low wattage humans.

  7. My thoughts on tools in the garage - I would tell the sons that you are cleaning them out and if there are any they wish to have, come get them. Otherwise they will be going out to ??? and they will be gone by some date. Maybe 3 or 4 weeks. First separate what you might think you need.

My kids used to dance the May Pole in grade school but don't know if they do it anymore. As teachers retire, so do customs. Dot

  8. Hi Lynda: Like the 8 hard truths! Re your garage: I had a double garage totally full of stuff we had and then my brother moved out of his industrial unit and brought everything to my garage. He then died a few years ago and because I had moved away from the city, I had no way to connect with anyone to take the stuff so I just got a local to clean everything out including machine etc. and take it, give it away, etc. I suggest you give your sons a chance to take what they want and say if they don't you will give away. Maybe that will make them help out. Glad himself was happy to go to the Lodge today as he didn't want to last Wednesday as he said it was all women! Have a good night. Hugs Brenda

  9. Hi Lynda....at first I thought the snow picture was today and I was like NO WAY, it's May 1st. Glad it's only rain your way.
Hooray you got himself to the Lodge on a Wednesday. Good for both of you.
RE tools...get the boys over there...might be some things they want. You'll use basic stuff but if you don't know what it's for...you likely don't need it.
Nice day in St.Louis but more rain on the way.
Have a wonderful nap and enjoy your evening.
    Hugs and blessings

  10. Hi Lynda! Happy May! Happy that Himself wanted to go to the program today. It was hot in Ohio but I sat out about 20 minutes. I see rain on Friday for 6 days. Not looking forward to that. Hope you get your garage in order. I am sure the boys could assist with the tools. I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday! Hugs!

  11. I do hope that Sadie had a good day! My own Sadie is overwhelmed by puppy-clutter these days. But this was a good day. All poos and pees (by the puppy) were delivered outside. We did have another bout of car-sickness, though. I think I have figured out what her limit is... she can do the mile or two to puppy class, the vet, the drive-thru pharmacy... but when you get to the ten-mile range (my son's house one-way, or to the election commission and back), she loses her last meal.

But she recovers quickly. I fed her extra lunch today because of the losing the breakfast thing. Sigh. Poor little tyke. She loves people and attention and living with an old lady that lives alone, I have to work at making sure she gets enough of that "socialization" they are always talking about!

    Have a great Thursday tomorrow!
