Be silly -- It feeds the soul!

                                                    Good morning "STRONG PEOPLE"!

We have rain falling--  It is Daylight --and a whole new day is beginning--AND--WE ARE A PART OF IT! Yesterday was a crazy mixed up day -for me---All these "moving" preparations , well, they take up SO MUCH time--mostly because I really do not know what I am doing, but, slowly, slowly, it seems to be coming together. I  try to look at it all, as a challenge, and  tell myself, how lucky I am to be able to follow all the instructions from Son#2, the Pilot.  I mean, how many people at 96 yrs and almost 83 years, get to do all this?-- And, this morning,  Himself was asking about a Costco----Seems he wants to go there--Holy cow eh??--And there will be a Costco nearby in Peterborough---AND, if I take his wheel chair, I can probably take him in there-- Our nearest Costco here is 2 hrs away--too far  to get him there after a long car trip----

One thing I have learned with all this banking stuff is----  the importance of a cell phone-- Some of our neighbours  (Seniors) do not own a cell phone----  All the security codes come to one's cell phone--I'd advise everyone to have a cell phone these days--

Anyway--some food for thought-- (Mom's expression!--Of course she just shoved that into my brain--You know how she is !)--  You know, even my Mom and Dad carried a bag phone with them--They used it to travel up here to visit us---  We did not own cell phones then, so thought their bag phone quite interesting--

The Oldies and Goldies---Here they come-- Below is "ME"--a graduate from the Hospital For Sick Kids-

and here are Son#1 and Son#2 (the blond little boy)-and our daughter--
and here I am with Son#4 with bis wife, many yrs later
Its time to get Himself to his Day Program--=and get Lopez out--
"Remember that you are stronger than yu believe---"
Be a tad silly----  It will help yu to enjoy the day--

  1. Sis, that meme of the lady getting older...those are words from a song called "Landslide." I believe the singers were a group called the Dixie Chicks.
Those codes that go to your cell phone? I have seen it that you have a choice...text to your phone or to your email.
Love the photos! Who is the little girl with your 2 sons?
Doing laundry today. Got the whole room to myself so far.
My check will post this afternoon so I will probably do some shopping.
I am very pleased with the way you are handling all that you have on your plate. Thank heaven for your son!
Just checked google/maps again. Yup, we will be over 15 hours apart, but that won't deter me! Checking back later, I am offering {{{HUGS}}}, Love, Maggie

  3. Two factor authentication... codes to the cell phone. Grateful for it, as it makes our financial transactions more secure, for sure!

Glad that things are coming together for you and Himself, and that you're finding little things to look forward to... like a CostCo nearby!

    2. Fear not, it doesn't always seem like the right thing at certain moments, but it is, and it will "all come out in the wash" as mom used to say.

  4. It's Kathy. My husband and I were at Costco last night. The last few times we've gone during the day it was so busy that the line went all the way to the back. I didn't have the energy to stay. Going after dinner was a good idea, not so busy! It's nice that you will have a Costco near you after you move - ours is just about 3 miles away! I think you're doing so well in organizing everything - I know it's a lot to think about! One day at a time and it will all come together! Have a great day!

  5. Lynda, you are an absolute WONDER! You are handling everything so well and with such a great attitude. I believe you are up for any challenge that life throws at you. I always enjoys the thoughts that "pop into your head" from your Mom, Dad and Grandpa. Bless your son Matt. So thoughtful for him to make a list for you that you can tick off as they're accomplished. Have a wonderful day.

  6. Hi Lynda: Yes, cell phones are a necessity nowadays. Remember when we were growing up, there was no such thing! I have a friend in her late seventies who refuses to use the one her daughter brought her - as she drives a lot in rural Ontario where you really need one if your car breaks down! Glad you use yours. Good that the pilot is helping you with necessary things you need to do before moving. Now that Canada Post is on strike some things are more necessary now. Glad himself is looking forward to going to Costco. Something positive for him with the move. Have a good night. Brenda

    2. What's a bag phone? I'm not sure we had them in the states, but I convinced my mom to get a cell phone in the 90s for her safety. Donna_cps2

  7. Hi Lynda, please take time to be SILLY. We all need that as life can seem very serious. Laughter is good for the soul.
I remember the bag phones. The first cell phones were big!
I like the codes texted for authentication, especially for financial and credit cards.
I find it interesting that Doc wants to go to Costco. When things settle down you can make that a reality. Be sure to pick up a rotisserie chicken that can be turned into multiple meals. Oh and cheap hotdogs at the Costco food court. Good produce too.
Going to Costco beats shoveling, raking, mowing and weed wacking.
Great inserts today. Enjoyed them. Cute pictures too. You were a "hot" nurse lol.
    Enjoy your evening.
Hugs and more hugs. Keep plugging away. IT WILL ALL WORK OUT FOR THE BEST!!!
    Hugs

  9. Oh, Costco! It's easy to spend too much there. But, the prices are good; the meat and produce simply come in larger amounts so are good for 'stocking up' and not having to go so often. The quality of most things is really good as well. I use their store brand for my antihistimine and it costs less for an entire year's supply than one month's worth of the name brand.

Your graduation picture is lovely. Beautiful inside and out, you are.
