Yesterday too, I hired my "grass man" to come out and and, "de-junk" the garage-- It looks fabulous --not like our garage anymore at all--
So, how are you all, post election?--kinda a shocker ---and also, kinda scare- y for the whole world!---My Grandfather would never believe all that was going on--- the language---the name calling--- In his day, there were 2 parties--The TORIES and THE WIGS---and no fighting---How things have changed! That is Grampa on the rt in the picture below--with the braces holding up his trousers.
I have to get to No Frills either to-day or to-morrow--It means a large grocery order, so it may be to-morrow--Don't you just hate lugging home a large order?-- -carrying it from the car--to the house-putting it all away------- some downstairs--some in the main kitchen--- a good reason to be strong--It will be nice when we move, to not have stairs-- but then---- will I be able to buy less??--(when 50 years I had to but enough for 1005 kids----well it seemed like that)---Take time to enjoy to-day--- hug someone you love--It is SUNDAY --and we are alive!
an old picture from the past-- The 2 little girls are now in University--Time flies !
Ditto here on having several closets and drawers full of clothes. I retired as an administrator 14 years ago and still am hanging on to some beautiful suits, dresses and pant suits that I haven't worn in years! And shoes! Lots of heels! (I love shoes!) I try to dress up for church, but now comfort is more important than "dressy". I wish I could find someone who needs these outfits - but the places I've called wants bigger sizes....crazy huh? PS - I got 6 evergreen trees planted yesterday! Sore from all that hole digging today!
ReplyDeleteSandra Yu planted 6 trees!--Good for yu-Lynda
DeleteGood morning Lynda.....its Saturday in the US lol
ReplyDeleteElection is over. I hope and pray for all our elected leaders local, state and national
I pray our leaders have the citizens needs and wants in their decisions going forward. Peace and cooperation please
Onward we go.
My goodness you've kept a lot of clothing from the past. I absolutely relate to lots of sizes lol. I purged the don't fit years ago and have happily maintained the current size 8 and 10 for several years. Happy purging and think how happy you'll make other women with your donations.
Hopefully, you won't have to make huge grocery runs in the future. Remember, you'll have to pack those pantry staples...no longer feeding 1003 kids.
Have a great day. Be safe, strong and positive.
Hugs and sending love
Marge/St.Louis
LOLOL-- Yes--so happy yu all clued me in as to what day it is--and now we still have a "SUNDAY"--LOL--Lynda
DeleteIt’s Saturday, not Sunday, so you have another day in your schedule to get rid of things. It will be so nice for you to get rid of the clothing you don’t wear. Why do we hang on to things?
ReplyDeleteThe election is scary. The people have spoken and apparently they want an ignorant hateful fascist man, and we all have to sit by and let him ruin the country. So sad that we have come to this.
You are doing great on the house moving. It will all work out in the end, even if it is chaotic at times!
Yes, I find the election in the US scarey--and I do;'t even live there--Lynda
DeleteYou are getting stuff out, and clearing the garage is a big step! You did good hiring the lawn guy! The grocery stuff will cut back, with no visitors coming. The clothing, seems like I wear the same type of things, just different colors, lol! Thus election is unbelievable to me! I never realized how many STUPID PEOPLE THE US HAS IN IT! Trump apparently did, he kept asking for them, and they agreed that they are stupid! My relatives in East Berlin were not laughing when we had a chance to visit them! Nothing funny about leaders having access to anything they wanted, but regular folks could not get it!
ReplyDeleteYes I wear the same 2 outfits everyday in the house-- track pants and a t-shirt--The garage looks great!!! Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda! It is SUN day in Ohio and Sunday tomorrow. You will make it all happen and be moved in no time. You can look for a bigger place when the pilot moves out if you don’t have enough room. It will all work out. It always does. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteh I hope it works out--kinda getting scared about the whole thing-- but---too late to do that--Lynda
DeleteI understand. I worry about the unknown things but Matt will help you be ok.
DeleteIt's Marti. I am lucky in that I don't like clothes at all. Especially as I've gotten older, and heat intolerant. I can't wear anything long sleeved, so I don't own anything long sleeved but one baggy sweatshirt I kept in case of extreme cold. I'm a size large and well, I did keep about 6 or so sentimental (band and concert) tshirts that are size medium in hopes that maybe someday I can wear them, but basically my closet is empty. I wear tshirts and sweats most days. I don't really go anywhere, and at work we wear grungy clothes because what we deal with at Goodwill is dirty, grungy stuff that we clean up and sell (NOT) clothes.
ReplyDeleteIt's sunny here, and the Ohio State University football is on!
Sunny here also-- I had my head in closets all day-- shoes and boots also--- plus Fred has shrunk, so his clothes do not fit--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. How great to be able to spend some time cleaning out your closets. After my mother passed away I found she had FULL closets of her clothes in her bedroom, in the room she sold her Mary Kay products, in the hall closet and in the closet in the living room (for coats and things). She also had a very large closet in the finished basement with mostly her clothes - a few of dad's winter things. She also had several drawers full of clothes - some things dating back to the 40's! I don't want to leave that kind of project for my children but with all the surgeries lately it's difficult to clear things out! I'm hoping by Spring I will be healed enough to get to work! A dreary day here today with rain on the way - but at least it's not snow! I'm happy to have all the election commercials off the air - horrible things! Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteOh Kathy--- Yes the clothes are leaving this house--=plus shoes--- long dresses--coats---Why did ever keep so much?--LOL--Lynda
DeleteSis, I am copying this comment and sending it to my email so I can repost it if it doesn't post here. Didn't do it yesterday, and blogspot failed me again. Did you see my comment very late last night after I found out that the original one didn't post?
ReplyDeleteI just picked up a large order from Walmart. If I order on line, I just park when I get there and they load it all in the car. There is still putting it all away, though.
I know how hard it must be when you go to No Frills.
Love the old photos. The one has you with a crown. It must've been your birthday or Mothers' Day.
Karaoke tonight. I can hardly wait. A friend, Mike, and I are going to do a duet of a slightly naughty song. You can look it up on youtube. It's by Ella Langley. Here's the link if you want to copy and paste it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdrJgASZQdM
All for now. Lucky just woke up and wants attention. Almost lunch time for us. Happy your little Lopez is cooperating.
Have a fun time going through all your clothes. I recommend donating them. You must have something that sells used stuff like our Good Will stores.
Hope you get some rest, reading, music in, too. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie
Ohhhhh so happy to hear Karaoke tonite for yu-- Yu enjoy that so much!--Yes Ive been moving clothes all day--Why on earth did I keep so many clothes--LOl--Lynda
DeleteI normally make no political comments but I feel I must now. Whether you agree with the outcome or not, remember this is how our country is run and the people make the decision. All the name calling and nasty remarks against the winning party do nothing but drive the hatred even further. Accept what it is and move on to something else. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes foraure--just move on-Lynda
DeleteThe elections have made our world an even scarier place than it as before. We mustn’t keep quiet though, we need to continue to fight the fight and hopefully in 4 years some portion of the 50+% that voted for him will come to their senses! Damage control is all we can do in the time being.
ReplyDeleteGood luck cleaning out those closets. Why is it we tend to think that “one day I’ll wear that again?” Lol
It is crazy isn't it--keeping all the outfits--"just in case"----- Lynda
DeleteLynda, I understand! My clothes are slowly being purged, too, except the ones that are the right size. Granted, I haven’t changed clothing size in a while, but . . . there are some clothing that hasn’t touched my body in several years. Time to let it go.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found your ‘grass man’ to declutter your garage. Awesome.
OH, post-election is not . . . so . . . good. Worried about the future, honestly, but . . . trying to take it day by day. As it should be done anyhow! That and lots of prayers. I don't agree w/the outcome, but . . . we do have to become united in this country for the right things!
I know. The disrespect, mud slinging, name calling . . . just ridiculous. My parents and grandparents would not believe it, either. *SIGH*
OH FOR SURE . . . a woman’s work is NEVER, EVER done! But, I guess I wouldn’t have it any other way.
What a lovely picture of you and your granddaughters. And they’re in University now. How time flies by! Have to enjoy every second.
Well, onto SATURDAY. May it be a good one.
HUGS and blessings
Barb

Onto Saturday for sure--- Yes I guess we all worry over what will happen with the new leadership----and I don't even live there--LOL--Lynda-
DeleteLisa/Straitlover here. Don't post much but I do read every day. Remember you are moving in less than a month, so don't buy anything you don't absolutely need at the supermarket before the move. Don't move groceries, not worth the mover's cost. Way cheaper to just start from scratch at the new place.
ReplyDeleteClothes - now's the perfect time to get rid of anything that doesn't fit and donate the rest. Don't spend too much time trying everything on, most stuff you will know right off if it fits or not. Only keep what you really need, maybe just enough to get you through a couple of weeks if necessary before needing to do laundry (for both winter and spring/summer of course!). Hopefully you can donate that bug suit! :)
Will you have room for all those clocks in your new place? If not, don't bother resetting them all, just pick your favorites and get rid of the rest.
Good luck on the move!
cannot take all my clocks--- for sure! The place would be wild!--LOL and hopefully NOT the bug suit--LOL--Lynda
DeleteYep, same here. Whenever I start making progress, it gets interrupted by one form of "urgency" or another, and then I slide backwards in the process. Celebrating one change at a time!
ReplyDeleteone thing at a time I guess Barb--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: I kept tons of clothes too. When I moved up north after retiring, I took all my suits I wore to work and when I finally moved back here 4 years ago, I left them all up there since I hadn't wore in years! And I moved to a very small 1st floor apartment of a 1950's style bungalow and had to get rid of tons of stuff besides the clothes. So just close your mind to what you're getting rid of and do it! Don't envy you. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteWow--I need that==to get rid of more-=-Thank yu--Lynda
