Sprinkle some Fancy Schmancy every now and then--

And why on earth am I so late blogging??--Someone said, "It's better late than never"-----but............

But---  I must tell you all what happened-- Very early this morning, Son #1, Son#3 , and Son#4 ,  descended upon us---  cleaned out the garage--and the shed--  and partially in the rec. room-- took trailer loads of "stuff"  away in their trailers--to parts unknown-- to give away--or to store in "their" sheds-----The garage certainly looks better-- also the basement---  We have lived here so long and accumulated   so much! ----   It is so good that they did that for us!  Maybe people should move every few years as it forces one to de-junk----

They have gone now---  and I sent  each one home with 4-5 large chocolate bars for Halloween for their children--- Gramma's treat--

Son#2 is in Brazil-- Pictures will probably begin to arrive in a few hours. I tracked his flight most of the night off and on--

So, you might say, that we are getting right into the move--  Lord Love a Duck! --Dec. the 5th, the mover arrives---  and so much to do in the meantime.--

l'll say it again--We should have done this 10 years ago--We would never have accumulated so much stuff--Maybe there should be a law---  like--every 10 years, we all downsize--like--after the age of 50--

AND--You all in the U.S. have an election in a couple of days---I pray that it works out--- I have never heard so much name calling and awful things said, about other people--never in my life! Anyway, enough said ----kinda had to believe --

Anyway, enough said--We are good people---We do not have to put up with craziness do we?  -I believe  being "fancy Schmancy", kind and caring  to other people, is a good way to be ---

  1. Happy Saturday, Lynda! Oh such great news you had awesome help today! Makes me so happy for you! Yes, election is right around the corner. Let’s hope it goes well. We need some new change! 2. It's Kathy. How wonderful that your 3 sons came to help you this morning. And hauled away so much stuff! Several years ago one of my sons came to help us clean out one of our sheds and that was so appreciated! Yes, I believe one should do that kind of clearing out every so often. I have no room in my kitchen so I believe it's time to give away some of the appliances that I never use anymore! Thanks for your kind words yesterday - I do believe that the not great shopping experience was what started the back pain and when I got home I was too tired to do my stretches and exercises. I did them yesterday and feel so much better today. But I also forget that it was a really major surgery! I see the surgeon in 18 days and I hope he will allow me to at least get down on the floor again! Hope the rest of your day goes well!

  3. How wonderful of the sons to come at the same time and help clean stuff out. This way there can be no claiming that someone took advantage of the other two. Seems that they are finally realizing that you are serious about this move! Also came before the weather gets prohibitive. Probably just as well you don't know exactly what they are doing with everything. At least it isn't your problem anymore. Maybe you can start putting packed boxes you definitely want to move in the garage to get things out of the house. Or a section of more stuff you don't want and it can be cleared away in time. Lots of luck. I swear this is why I don't want to move after 50 years in this house. Good luck to my kids who don't live close by. Won't be my problem! Dot

  4. HOW AWESOME sons #1, #3 and #4 helped out! Wonderful.

OHhhhhh man, so many prayers being said for a sane and rational election outcome. And no VIOLENCE!

I AGREE! Every now and then have to sprinkle in the fancy schmancy! It lifts the spirits!

  5. Oh Lynda, I am so very happy for your that sons #1, #3 and #4, came and did things that would have been too much for you to handle. It really doesn't matter anymore what they took or where it goes. You have no need for any of it in your new place. Now you can concentrate on making a list of what you know you'll want and need in your new apartment.

I hope the rest of your day goes well and that you find time to play the piano. I guess you and Lopex hoofed it up the road and it was successful.

  7. Hi Lynda
Wahoo that your boys all came and removed stuff. I hope they come again, and soon.
Wherever the stuff went....its out of your way.
Are the movers going to pack and move on the 5th or will they come earlier in the week to pack? Seems like a lot to accomplish in one day.
Yes, moving every few years IS a good way to get rid of stuff. With a big house plus sheds it easy to stick stuff away and forget about it. Happy purging. You've got lots to decide on. Unless you rent a storage unit at new house...lots of things won't fit in your new house. I hope you got a floor plan to help you figure out where your furniture will fit. Very exciting time.
    Stay positive and strong.
    Hugs...big hugs

  8. I'm sure you are relieved about the garage. I know that I was in my house for 39 years. I left the gardening tools and workshop behind for the new buyer. Glad everything is going along smoothly. Amen about this coming election. We'll all be glad when it's over!! I don't like all the name calling either. Does it really work? Is your new apartment far away? I know you told us and included pictures, but I lost track of where it is online. Donna_cps2 Lansing, IL

  9. Hi Lynda: How awesome that your 3 sons up there finally helped to get rid of some stuff for you. Who cares what they did with it as you will have no room for al this extra stuff. And this is starting to make it more real for the near future! Glad there is a seniors place so close to the new place. Seems like things are starting to come together! It will take a few days for packing what's going and for the trip. Hope all keeps going well. Good luck. Hugs Brenda

  10. Nice that sons #1,3 and 4 pitched in. If you’re like me, at least 50% of the “stuff” is theirs anyway, they just chose to store it in our garages! This election really scares me. No matter who wins, there are going to be problems. Never thought we’d have something like this in the modern U.S.! So tired of the childish name calling. We must truly be the laughing stock of the world right now. How on earth did we allow it to stoop to such a useless and childish way of campaigning???

  11. The weight of indecision has been lifted and now you and your kids are in "make it happen" action mode! Feels good, even while it might be exhausting! So glad the sons are pitching in!

  12. So good to hear that the sons arrived and took care of so much for you today! Hopefully they will return again to take care of more. December 5! I would imagine that date brings both relief and some stress ... but to have a date is wonderful! Sending you giant hugs!!

  13. Good morning Lynda,
So happy to hear that things are progressing well. I am one of those people who should have moved years ago to get rid of stuff. Hubby and I have been in this house since 1976. Glad your kids are helping you move. That has to be a huge weight off your shoulders. How did you decide on what you wanted to keep for your move. I know you can't be moving all your clocks! Maybe this will be the last time you will have to change them heh! I hope you have my e-mail adress it not I will give it to you again. pastrickb@yahoo.com
Please let me know if you received it.
    Your friend.

  14. So glad to hear that #1, #3 and #4 stepped up! That has to be a relief to you to have so much "stuff" gone. I'll bet Son #2 told them to get their butts in gear or else! / Leslie
