Make Positivity A Priority...

Good day to you all---It is overcast here outside right now---  but--there is always good news--NO SNOW FALLING!----and it's not  really cold.  Lopez and I have been "hoofing" it up the back road--but-----  Lopez did nothing--and the bad news is--I will have to take him out again!

Apollo and Lola are still here--It is a challenge to feed all 3 dogs without every dog trying to eat the other dog's breakfast---I had to put the dog who was eating , in the sunroom--

I tried to get rid of a lot of shoes yesterday-also--That was interesting---  Why on earth did I ever own about 80 pair of shoes, which I hardly ever wore----?---Then I asked Himself to  try to get rid of his shoes which are now too large for him, but all he did was put them on the floor and walk away-- Maybe he didn't hear me---
So, either to-day --or to-morrow . Son#3 should pick up his 2 dogs-----I am hoping it will be to-day--

So, between the banking---informing people that we are moving, and trying to de-clutter, life is certainly interesting--then there is the necessary groceries to pick up-- like milk and bread and fruit--and then there is the "worrying"  that  what do I do with all the stuff in this house -and, you know  that I am a huge "worrywart""--  which is stupid, but once a worrywart-- seems to be always a worrywart--and  some---grown kids -- seem a tad cross also--don't like to see the family home sold-- makes me worry more--- Lord love a Duck eh!!!!

I figure , if I am ever going to "crack up"--- this is the time! So far, so good, however! I think ignoring stuff is the best thing to do--right now--like--"Just--Carry on--"

--and I best carry on for sure---"This too shall pass!" ----Right??
Well, time for the "oldies and goldies"pictures-

Himself and Son#2 the Pilot--out in Nova Scotia

Himself with the"Bluenose"  in Lunnenburg, on one of our trips to Nova Scotia, long ago--

Remember  YOU  ARE  strong ----You do have Toughness, Heart, Guts--- You are Woman!

  1. It's Kathy. Lynda, you have so much going on and it seems you have to handle most of it yourself. But you are strong and capable! One day at a time and you will be ready to move when moving day comes! It's dreary here too, with rain. But at least it's not snow! We're off to church in a little bit and maybe we'll clean the house this afternoon! Have a good day! Good luck with all the decluttering.

  2. Lynda - keep on keeping on. Those grown kids that are unhappy the family home is sold have not been there to help
Make your life easier in the past.So they don’t get a vote in the move. Your life will be so much more streamlined after the move and you will enjoy the company of son #2 family often!! Charge on!!!

  3. Great blog, Lynda! Good day to you and yours (including the extras).
It's overcast here, too, but we're supposed to have sun this afternoon. It's 15 degrees over freezing. That's good.
I have recently had to get rid of 2 pair of shoes. They were worn out favorites. It was still hard.
If the kids were that upset about losing their childhood home, I wonder if they tried to get together and buy it themselves?
The photos are great. You never said the relationship of the cute kids. Grandkids, I assume.
Karaoke was fun last night. Mike and I sang out song. Did you look at/listen to the link? He hadn't practiced. We will do it better next time.
Did you ever see my late night repost of the comment that didn't post the first time?
Your extra doggies probably love it at your house, but they'll be happy to go home, too.
I need to get garbage/recycles out. Carpet needs vacuuming again. Because it's Sunday, I gave Sadie the day off.
Remember, sis, if you worry...you just get more to worry about. When a worrying thought comes...switch it. Think of something you love, something to appreciate, the positive aspect of that thought. Trust me, there is one. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  4. Hi Lynda: Kids that aren't happy about your move should have come around and helped more with all the work and if they wanted the house, they should have made arrangements to do so. Don't feel guilty as that is their problem not yours. Nice pictures and memes today. Happy decluttering. Hugs Brenda

  5. Hi Lynda, you're making progress in your decluttering, and I hope you feel a sense of accomplishment. Well, if sons #1, #3 and #4 aren't happy about the house being sold, any one of them could have sold their house and bought the "family home". Perhaps, if they had been of more help over these past few years, you wouldn't be selling. Enjoy your Sunday and squeeze in a little time to play your piano because Lopez, Apollo and Lola will surely appreciate it.

  6. Just think, Lynda, you will not be at the beck & call of the children near you, they did not have to participate in the constant yard care that is required there, you deserve to do as you wish, for heaven’s sakes. Beautiful yards take lots of constant upkeep and expense. They were lucky you both did not leave long ago! They knew how much upkeep the house was, so were smart not to buy it. Isn’t it amazing about shoes, the shoe companies know how to entice ladies, lol. I’ve been buying shoes lately, Texas heat keeps many in flip flops, but time comes where shoes are necessary, lol! Good luck getting rid of yours.

  7. Lynda, of course some of the kids are unhappy. No one likes change, and unfortunately aging parents have to make changes in order to continue to handle what life throws at them. The other part of the issue as that the move makes them realize that both of you won't be around forever and that your husband is failing. So let that go, and know that you have made the best decision you can for you and himself.
Continue to be strong and competent and get rid of stuff. You are doing a great job! And the new place will be very different, but embrace it the simplicity of less stuff and less upkeep!

  9. Hi Lynda, your positivity is ONE of the many qualities I admire about you.
Hoping the pups go home today!!!
As far as sons not happy...any one of them or all of them could have bought the BIG family home. My guess is that they realize Fred is failing and Fred wanted to stay there. The decision has been made so onward. You also didn't get a lot of help from them. Let it go Lynda. Theyll get over it.
Lynda, 80 pair of shoes?? You must keep everything. I have 6 pr. and 3 of those are athletic shoes. As I said before, I purge often. You'll end up purging Fred's shoes. At least that's how it goes here.
Don't worry about all your stuff. Do be selective about what is going. No point paying to move stuff you have no room for. You'll figure it out.
    Lovely pictures.
Tomorrow is the 11th already. December is fast approaching. It's exciting to have a fresh start all on one floor, all new. We're all happy for you. If pilot son could pick us up we'd get your house purged and packed quickly. It's an awful lot for one person.
    Stay strong and positive.
    Great inserts

  11. Hi Lynda! It has rained all day in Ohio! It’s been nice and quiet. Making chili for dinner. Don’t crack up. We need you! LOL Hope the dogs get picked up soon so you can carry on with your to do list. As for the adult kids, my grandma always said, “they will get OVER it or UNDER it!” How funny and true is that? It will all work out! Hugs!
