Always be a Unicorn!

It might be fun to try being a Unicorn---Anyway, Guess what?--This AM., I weigh---- 190.5-----Lord love a Duck! That is simply amazing!--  I hadn't been on the scales for a few days so it really was a shocker to look down and see those numbers.-- I suppose that sounds pretty high still-- My goal now is to get to the 180's----  then to 165 some day--where I used to be , many years ago! -

-Son#2 this morning was asking how I was doing it?---the weight thing---- I think it's a lot of mind over matter---I  look at something that I kinda want to eat, and ask myself, "Do I really want that?"-----plus, the portions at dinner I notice are smaller--I just can't eat why I used to---AND-----there is always Lopez---taking him out every hour---

Lopez Chico has figured out where the door is. After he has done his business outside, he races back to the front steps and hops up them---

He is pretty smart--but----  Lordy Be, he sure can get snarly when he is tired--- and he tries to chew on my hand with his tiny spike teeth.
This morning I must return Himself's Holter Monitor--and it is "hair Day", if I can trust Himself to dog sit Lopez Chico----I didn't go last week and I look like the "wreck of the Hesprus" as Mom used to say! And, we have rain-------which I hear may be snow showers on the weekend.

Life certainly is busy---Oh--One more thing--  I hear that Queen Elizabeth has been told to slow down--  I wonder if she needs that Holter Monitor?

  1. Lynda, I'm so happy to see how your weight is coming down and you are an encouragement for me. I need to push myself to get losing regularly instead of 'off & on' as I'm doing.

Yes, Chihuahuas can be fierce, but let Lopez know he's not to chew on YOU. Mine never did that and they would allow others to pet them. You don't want him to be a snarling adult dog.

Wishing you luck, leaving Lopez's care to Fred but you do have to leave him at times.

It's about time Queen Elizabeth takes it easy. She's had a terrifically busy life!

    Hugs to you & yours.

  5. Great to see that weight coming down. Little Lopez knows where the door is to come in so he will soon figure out when he needs to go out. Takes patience.

  6. hurray on the weight loss!! I started out at 206 in 2015. It has taken me till this morning to get down to 157. Still have about 20 lbs. to go
but will get there sooner or later. (Sooner, I hope). Saw a "kitchen hack" on FB a last week about keeping bananas and it seems to help. Just take a piece of foil and wrap it around the stem ends. They lasted a few days longer than usual. Have a great rest of the week.

  8. Enjoy getting your hair washed and done. At least you are not afraid to go out, where you live. Texas is still bad, due to dumb folks. Good luck today.

  9. That’s great news about the weight loss Lynda! Must be due to all the trips letting
Lopez in and out. I’m sure Fred will be ok with Lopez for a while so you can get your hair done. Got my snow tires on today so I’m prepared but still don’t want the snow. Will miss Florida again this year due to hubby’s health issues. πŸ‘ ❄️

  15. Add to the last 'poster'...an ounce of kindness!

I have seen a shirt on tv I want to get: Addicted to caffeine and kindness. It's not available in a sweatshirt, though, so it will wait for spring.

I hope the holter monitor's output is good!

    It's been rainy on and off here for a couple days, too. We are not that far away from each other. You may one day have me knocking at your door dressed up like the Queen! {{{HUGS}}}

Awwwwww, that is a most adorable picture of Lopez Chico in his little bed.

Good luck w/the hair appt. and returning the Holter monitor. HOPE hope Himself does a good job babysitting little Lopez Chico.

Yes, I wondered if the resting mandate for the Queen was due to heart problems. Prayers for her.

Enjoy hair apt. And time away from home.
Hoping Freds monitor results are good.
Looez Chico seems to be catching on nicely. I sure hope Lopez Chico stops using those razor teeth on you.
Thank you for your daily updates, sense of humor and your upbeat positive attitude. You help brighten my day.
    Be well and safe!

  18. Good for you Lynda! I hope the Holter monitor found out how healthy "himself" really is! I guess Lopez Chico is just being a puppy! In the teething stage! Good luck with that! Lol (((HUGS)))

  20. You are doing great with the weight loss. I need to get back with the program and start working on the 15 pounds I have put on during the pandemic.
I purchased a T shirt with the unicorn saying on it a few hears back. I have a few unicorns around and a few that I have put away (got tired of dusting them.)
A little trick I was taught many years ago with a biting puppy is at the corners of his mouth, where the upper and lower lips meet, push that skin in when he tries biting and he will feel the pain like he is inflicting on you. It might take a couple of times but he will soon learn to have a gentle mouth. You are not causing his pain, he is and his lesson learned is when he tries to bite you he hurts himself. I had only one out of five dogs that took more than a couple of times to learn to be gentle.
Have a great rest of your evening. Beth Mosko

  22. Lynda, it is a lot of mind over matter. We can get all the support we want but it still is up to us. That little Lopez is such a sweet little thing and I think you are very courageous for taking on a pup. It's almost like taking care of an infant.
