I see you---- and--I'm SO so happy that you take time to read about Canada's North Land----and "ME"!--I have to hoof it to the highway very soon----and it's 6C outside which is very cold!--Well, it is going to get worse, with winter coming, so I best walk to-day, before winter hits with a vengeance!
CBC T.V was on as I was changing dog water, feeding Beau, getting Lopez outside , and putting in the wash-- They spoke of a new variant--the "Delta Plus" which they are watching--They talked about how this Covid flourishes , indoors---and that's where we must be careful now that winter is approaching--They talked about how costly everything is now--and I know about all of that!-- Gasoline, groceries-- winter tires are not "to be had"-- (Good thing I have ours sitting in our garage waiting to be put on)--- AND--Isn't it amazing that with so much worrisome news like all of that, that I am still able to cope with--all, and, with life --- No wonder we have so much stress!
On a better note, little Lopez Fernandez Sanchez, the wee little Chihuahua, now has another name. Son#2, added "Chico"---so, it seems the smaller the dog, the longer the name--- Lopez Fernando Sanchez Chico, was taken outside every hour yesterday, to do his business and he did not have even one accident! ---Poor little fella runs for the door, as soon as he is done--He has that figured out--"Get inside quick" he thinks--and he knows where the door is!------I put the timer on the stove on, to remind me to get him out. (I suppose that means that "I" am the one trained!--)
I shall hoof it to the highway and back--- a wee walk on the wild side here-- I know a Lady who comes to the hairdresser after me, who is 97 and walks everyday--(so she says)- I believe it pays off--- !-Lord love a Duck----- I think I want to be her age one day---so--Here I go!
Hehehe, if I owned that wee cutie I might be tempted to add even another name after Chico. It would be Perrito, little dog. Very melodic or poetic.Lol.
ReplyDeleteI am glad LFZ aka Chico is doing well. He will answer to many nicknames as he ages. He has a sweet little face. Give Beau a hug too. I know you all miss Tess. I don't miss SP as much. I love that you are still enjoy your blogs. ((Hugs))
ReplyDeleteIt is getting cold here too, not as cold as you get but cold to me. It isn't cold enough for us to turn our heat on, that will come soon enough.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Wednesday
I think I'll stick with Little Lopez... or Chico Lopez... LOL!
ReplyDeleteAh, and the once an hour thing is good for this week, next week you can probably extend to an hour and 15 minutes, and if he stays good with that... extend again the following week, until eventually he's only going out about four times a day.
There's a new puppy around here, in the neighborhood... this one is a rough-coated collie, named Barnaby. He's still pretty tiny, but he'll grow up big! His human is old-er, like you and me, but he and his wife are game to take on this puppy!
It was chilly here when I went out for my morning walk with Luna (the Newf) Headed to the Dr soon for my annual physical ...hoping she'll be pleased that I am losing weight . . .albeit slowly but losing never the less.
ReplyDeleteLove the "Chico!" and I'll bet he'll respond to that faster! Good pup!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like we are in for a cold snowy winter this year. I hope you are thinking of getting your snow tires on soon. You are doing a great job training Lopez (Chico), keep up the good work. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI would just call your wee pup Chico. Sounds like a first name rather than a surname ;-). He may know the name of Lopez now, though.
ReplyDeleteWalking is great exercise. I am going with my BFF today to the Minneapolis VA. We will get lots of walking in there.
I have my hats, boots, gloves and scarves ready, but I need a long coat. The only winter one that fits now is just a short jacket.
Sigh. We just need to really see the beauty of the snow and look forward to the new life in the springtime. {{{HUGS}}}
Walk walk walk
ReplyDeleteYes cold weather snow and sleet are coming..
Hugs to you
I would just call that sweet puppy Chico. Exercising in the cold actually can help your body to burn more calories. So keep on walking.
ReplyDeleteOh my. Hadn’t heard of the Delta Plus variant. **SIGH** Yes indeed, everything is VERY expensive. We are very conservative in our food buying right now. Gasoline, well, we have to get that, though we don’t travel far. Medicines, same with that . . . have to have that. UGH.
ReplyDeleteOh Chico – perfect added name for the wee little Lopez! Wahoo for him not having any accidents in the house. That’s what we did with our Miss Lilly. Every hour, after meals and right when she’d wake from a nap. Worked. There are training pads but . . . . she never got the idea of those. She chewed ‘em up, so that was a no go. Ummmm, yes. That’s how it works. WE are trained!
Good for you getting your walk in. Feels better when I do my walk, too.
HUGS and have a wonderful Wednesday.
Good for you for getting out and walking as often as you can. I skipped to day because my knee is bothering me more than usual - instead I sat on the heating pad (for my back) while I iced my knee. And now it is raining and thundering and as dark as night! When I was training Daisy I also set the timer to remind me that an hour had passed. I'm glad little Lopez had a good day yesterday. Good for him!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for Chico (Lopez). He's getting the idea. Maybe try stretching it a bit like by 10 or 15 minutes and see how it goes. He's gonna hate winter!! Hope himself is doing ok with the pacemaker on. Yes keep up with your walks. They are good for you and the weight!
ReplyDeleteYou are trained...thus Lopez is trained....nice job, Lynda!! I knew you’d get that little cutie under control! Keep walking! I walk every day, too....❤️ Eissa7
ReplyDeleteI’m late reading this today. It does sound like you are getting trained but it’s what Lopez needs right now. Getting my snow tires on tomorrow as it’s getting colder here and I think winter is right around the corner. Yes things are getting expensive but we still need to eat! Have a good night. 👍
ReplyDeleteI like Chico. Several years ago I read a blog that proclaimed small dogs respond easily to two-syllable names with a long 'e' sound in them. At the time we had a long succession of three American Eskimo Spitz dogs named Trixie, Prissy and Misty.
ReplyDeleteLynda I just got caught up on the last 5 blogs. You are doing good! Keep up the good work!

DeleteKeep up the walking as often as possible. I walk 3 to 4 miles every day.
ReplyDeleteIt was warm in St. Louis today..high 80s but...yes that big BUTT...temps going to drop to 40s tonight.
Lopez is doing well with potty training. Yes every hour but soon you can stretch it out a bit longer. I hope you have a plan for the snow and the puppy.
I like the name Chico. Its short and seems to fit the little guy.
Hoping Fred is less grouchy.
Haven't heard of that Covid variant.
Yes. Prices up and rising on food and gasoline here in St.Louis too. Not enjoying it at all sigh.
Hope your day was good.
Hugs
Good for you for setting a timer to get Lopez outside for his duties. He is catching on fast. I agree about increasing the time but also if it doesn't go well there is nothing wrong with going back to one hour for another week and trying again the next week to stretch it to one hour 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the walking. It really is good for a person. I know for me it helps keep the knees from freezing up, and that to me is a blessing.
Enjoy the rest of your evening,
Beth Mosko
Oh Lynda, I somehow didn't see this blog yesterday. I'm glad I saw it this morning while replying to this morning (Thursday's) blog.
ReplyDeleteGood read as always, I enjoy it that you share your days with us. Your ups & downs are so like many of ours and it's good to know we're not alone.
I don't watch the news on TV anymore, too mind boggling!
Chihuahuas do not like the cold and they are so tiny, their bodies cannot adjust to it. It's great how Lopez runs right back to the door when he's done his business, now he needs to learn to go TO the door when he needs to GO, lol.
Hugs to all of you from me.
Great that the house breaking is working, soon you'll be able to go longer in between. He'll catch on quick.
ReplyDeleteHope you get Lopez trained to go to the door soon...
ReplyDeleteNews on tv is made up a lot for drama, we don't watch it either.
Prices here are crazy as well Lynda.........BTW, congratulations on the
ReplyDeleteweight.........told you you could do this, just had to set your mind to it.
David nor I eat like we used to...cook a small batch of spagetti and it lasts too long........sigh...........good thing I have a set of neighbors who like my cooking...lol
What Susiemt said!
