You know, there is something to be said for big dogs-- They don't need clothing! ----And you are not so apt to step on them--BUT----- our big Beau does not enjoy the car--This little fella just falls asleep in the car--in the cat crate.
I am off soon to pick up bananas, tomatoes and lettuce, plus whatever! I will take Himself and Lopez as Himself can sit with Lopez in the car--Yesterday Himself and I had a traumatic ride home from getting the wee parka -
-You see, Himself figures he is a "Driver Instructor" and tells me how to drive the car--every move! --It's "turn here"--"oh not so close to the curb"--"put the car in gear-"--"Did you shut it off?"--Lord love a Duck! --I finally pulled over and turned off the engine and asked him if he would like to take the wheel, knowing that he does not have a licence anymore. --So--that went over like a lead balloon!----I imagine it will be the same to-day--- so--I will be a Warrior---- I may have to "Lay down the Law"--once again! --Sometimes, it's tough being married--and sometimes---it can be wonderful--I think!
My little Chihuahuas always got so excited when they knew they were going for a car ride then they'd promptly fall asleep on my lap as soon as the car engine started up, LOL. You need an Off button for your ear when Fred is a passenger. It must be hard for him not to be able to drive.
ReplyDeleteBe that warrior! Hugs to you all.
My hubby does the same thing when he is passenger although he has lessened over time as I asked him if he would like me to make these comments when he is driving because I would gladly do so. He stopped as he realized that he is letting his license go before me and will have to be passenger soon all the time.
ReplyDeleteBecky does the same as "himself" to me when I am driving!yes be a warrior! Himself will not change at this late date just turn a deaf ear to his driving instructions! (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteI certainly understand how you feel about the driving instructions. Bryan likes to do all of the driving when we go anywhere together. He needs his aortic valve replaced and we are just waiting for a date from the surgeon. It’s going to be in Kitchener rather than in Guelph and he won’t be allowed to drive for about 3 months. I can just imagine how my life is going to be for those 3 months. Oh well it needs to be done so I’ll just have to suck it up! Your parka for Lopez sounds so cute. You will have to post a picture of him in it. I’m sure he will get used to it especially when it gets really cold outside. Have a great weekend! 👍
ReplyDeleteOh I am o happy that yu will be going thru the same--driving with a driving hubby--- Lynda
DeleteThanks Lynda! I am soooo looking forward to it. I’ll have to find a gag for him.
DeleteI usually do most of the driving too. Its not that my husband doesn't drive it is just that he makes me nervous now.
ReplyDeleteHave a great Saturday
It's a beautiful fall morning, cool but sunny. I am so happy my DH spends most of the day downstairs in the shop with the kitties building onto his train set. Since I no longer drive we don't have that problem. Keep on being a warrior Lynda.
ReplyDeleteIsn't there a song about being a warrior?
DeleteWill you find booties for little Lopez’s tiny toes, out on the ice and snow? How does he do with those pee pads? Hope he gets used to those, soon. That talking while you drive would drive anyone nuts. Did he do that when he was younger, too? You must have ears of steel!
ReplyDeleteLynda, You are so brave with all the dogs, and outdoor activity. We'll ask for patience in driving with your husband coaching you all along. Being single I do not know what that is, but often get extra coaching on a number of subjects from my children and others.
ReplyDeleteMy children like to tell me what to do-- kinda drives me crazy--I know they mean well-Lynda
DeleteFred does need bonding time with the wee baby pup...excellent idea to take the two of them along on your outing! Just remember, you are the one driving, the one with the license...that must be really hard for Fred but I’m glad you were stern about all of the unhelpful feedback!! Enjoy your Saturday! Eissa7
ReplyDeleteI love that last cartoon... it really does tell the tale, doesn't it? Hope the trip is a smooth one!
ReplyDeleteI learned a long time ago not to drive with my husband in the car but 2 years ago he was too sick so I had to do the driving everywhere. Luckily he felt too lousy to pay any attention! You are a warrior!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs.
ReplyDeleteYour Himself is so used to being in charge and giving directions. HE FORGETS that you raised FIVE KIDS! Lord. BUT you ARE a warrior and you will survive. And wee Lopez will enjoy his car ride!
ReplyDeleteHUGS
I bet Himself got the message yesterday when you stopped the car! Hopefully, your trip was a little smoother today. Husbands can be so bossy...mine included. He even thinks I don't load the dishwasher right.. after 50 years of ME doing the dishes 😂🤣
ReplyDeleteLittle Lopez is SO cute!! They are little snuggle buddies...
You ARE a warrior. Good luck on your grocery trip with Fred and Lopez. I hope the parka does the trick for Lopez this winter. He's not gonna like going out.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Hugs dear one.
Love your last 'poster!' That's right! Remember Mr. Rodgers on kids' tv? He said it best: just because you love someone doesn't mean you can't be mad at them.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Lopez in his parka!
I needed a long coat for MN winters. I went to Goodwill yesterday and purchased a chocolate brown Cabela's 100% goose down parka with a hood, a 2 way zip, deep pockets and higher velcro ones. It was brand new looking and only $29.99!
Now I am out to buy a piece of fleece to line a hat I am crocheting to match the new coat. Don't believe I can do gloves, though.
Enjoy your Sunday! {{{HUGS}}}
👋🏻😀♥️
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are being bombarded with opportunities to practice patience without stressing about 'stuff.' Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. The part about driving and asking hubby if he wants to drive sounds like me. For me, it does get the point across.
ReplyDeleteHave a good evening.
Beth Mosko
Yikes can himself sit in the back seat?
ReplyDeleteBe a true backseat driver..
Lynda, I think it is a man thing.....David no longer drives either and he nearly drives me crazy back seat driving....slow down-turn left/right, too close/too far............I told him I don't know how I ever was able to drive thru major cities in this country without him to tell me how to do it.........LOL
ReplyDeleteMy husband usually does the driving and I have to admit I am a backseat driver. I think he drives way to fast but he says he's keeping up with traffic. Now Susie is a slow driver and that too drives me crazy. I like to drive but I don't get to do it too much. I guess you just have to turn a deaf ear.
ReplyDeleteI think this is an informative post and it is very useful and knowledgeable. therefore, I would like to thank you for the efforts you have made in writing this article. How do I get a real ID drivers license
