The life of a dog can be complicated!

It's almost Halloween---- I have the "village people" out by the road--Of course we never get "trick or treaters" as we are out in the bush, but--- I always get ready --just in case---
Big Beau , again, has had diarrhea--again, early in the morning--and again, on the carpets--- which we have cleaned and cleaned--I called our old vet to ask what shots he had before we changed to the vet here in town--and he is protected for just about everything-So,--I will change his diet to rice and chicken, and not much of that!--  Maybe the new puppy has upset him with all the changes in the house here--Who knows??--I am searching here for pictures of our daughter's family on Halloween-They dress up and always look great-
Well, it is't Halloween yet---  but---  this family shops at the GoodWill store and creates costumes-
I best get this puppy out--with big Beau---  maybe he just misses Tess eh?---  Lord love a Duck!--The life of a dog is complicated sometimes!

  1. The changes in the household of adding the puppy, and of course, of losing Tess could well lead to stress reactions in Beau. I had some issues with The Prisoner and indoor incontinence earlier in the year when I did something different: I moved "his" chair to the other side of the room. Thankfully the vet got him squared away, and the carpet involved is about due to be replaced anyway.

  5. Great pictures of your daughter's family. There have been too many changes for Beau to deal with especially with the loss of Tess sand a small puppy. My dog has issues sometimes and I give her cooked canned pumpkin - preferably pure instead of pie filling if you can get it (E D Smith). It helps binds. Have heard this from breeders and a vet. I put it in ice cube trays and freeze and give one a day after thawed in microwave. Beau is bigger so might require a bit more for a few days. Good luck.❤

  6. Love the pics...we also never have any trick or treaters here in the sticks. I was going to suggest canned pumpkin or fresh cooked pumpkin with the chicken and rice. Be sure it isn't the pie filling with the spices and such. Our daughter the vet says to try that first and maybe some extra Bea love since Senor Lopez has been getting all the attention. Good Luck.

  8. For sure, animals react in behavioral ways to stress. Good idea to change Beau's diet to chicken and rice til things settle down! Poor boy, poor YOU!

    LOVE LOVE LOVE your pictures.

  9. Love your outdoor pictures and your daughters family costumes. Thanks for sharing. We don't get trick or treaters but I do enjoy seeing the kids dressed up and having fun.
So sorry Beau is having issues....ugh. a bland diet for a bit will likely help. He's had a lot of changes losing Tess and being invaded by Lopez. Poor Beau.
Hang in there. It will all be ok. Have a great day.
    Hugs dear Lynda.

  10. Does not surprise me. Animals do not always take well to change.

  11. Great pictures of the family in costumes! Poor Beau, you dealt with your grief by buying Lopez, but Beau can’t go elsewhere. The comfort food might help, plus your attention, hard to know. Good luck. The canned pure pumpkin seems to work.

  14. My grandson had the same "purple dragon" Halloween costume in 2005. I'm looking forward to see what character my 4 year-old grand-daughter will be dressed up as this year. I hope poor Beau is okay. It is wonderful to see your wonderful grand-children with their 93-year-old grandpa! Happy Halloween!

  17. Great pics!

Cayenne doesn’t handle changes to her routine very well. Pretty much any extra or unusual excitement can lead to “accidents”

We got her from the pound and it took months and months of crate training at first, to work out the house training. And it only takes a little distraction for her to revert. She’s a really great dog in every other aspect. But very much a creature of habit ❤️

  20. Lynda, our lives are complicated, too, if we allow them to be!

I shop at GoodWill, too. I got a marvelous goose down hooded long coat made by Cabela's (a huge sporting goods chain here. Don't know if you have them). It looks brand new and was only $29.99.

We will be allowed to pass out candy outside to trick or treaters, but they cannot come into our building as they have in past years. Last year we couldn't even do that.

    Love your decorations! {{{HUGS}}}
