Why do Doctors think they know everything?

It's a good day when I decide it will be a good day---and---I HAVE DECIDED!---"Take the Bull by the Horns and make it a good day"--Moms words of course!------  The scales told me this AM that I now weigh 191 lbs---Lord love a Duck! I can see the 180's , just over the hill------ Now if I don't buy pop---even diet pop---no more deserts--well, maybe watermelon--and try to get some exercise in, even if it's only 10 minutes.

Himself is back to a normal heart rate this morning---  I opened my wallet  to see what was in there , this morning, and I found 2 small pieces of paper about the flu shots-- They must've been handed to me after we had our shots at the Pharmacy. There was a section on reactions---  There was the usual, sore arm, scratchy throat etc, and then, it said it can "lower yer blood pressure and cause one to feel dizzy and confused"--

"Holy Cow ", I said to Himself, "listen to this", and I read it to him. --AND ----HIM, BEING A DR.,--said , back to me, "Well, lots of things can affect your heart rate, so why do you think it could be the Flu Vaccine"------ ?????-------(And why do Drs think they know everything , went thru my mind)----We never ever had Covid Vaccines before- and Himself had a Double  Flu vaccine, after 2 covid vaccines---Could this  cause a reaction-?---  Hmmmm------It's possible---- maybe---

Little Lopez we figure must've been potty trained with these huge pads because he came with one ---and when we spread one out in a corner on the kitchen/nursery----  he uses it every time -----too bad the Breeder never told me this---

And little Lopez Martinez Sanchez, had a photo shoot this AM--so I will send a couple pictures-- One more thing--The rain has stopped -At least for to-day--

  2. Aw, sweet Lopez. Yep, I potty trained my Chihuahuas with those puppy pads. Far better than accidents on the floor or rugs.

I see your point about that shot perhaps accounted for Fred's blood pressure change but tell a doctor? Uh uh, docs do know it all, Lynda. LOL.

    Hugs to all of you.

  3. I attempted to get the flu vaccine the other day. First, I forgot my insurance card & had to go back home for it. When I got back with my insurance card, there were about 25 people in line ahead of me. When there were 10 ahead of me, they ran out of the vaccine! I guess I wasn't meant to get it that day. After reading this blog, maybe I'm glad that I didn't get it!

    1. I hope you keep trying . With all the health care workers at their energy limits , I don't think this is the winter for anyone of us to get sick and end up in emergence . Take care and hope it works out for you .

  4. I think men in general think they know everything!!! But I think you may be on to something. All these things we are injecting into our bodies may be protecting us from death but they may also affect us in other ways.

  8. I am so happy for you (puppy pads)! I left my last male DR. because I thought he was not as brilliant as my BIL claims. (((HUGS)))

  9. Congrats on that 191. Good to hear the Doc is feeling better. Lopez has probably been housetrained to puppy pads. May be a good idea with winter coming on. Then in the spring you can switch to taking him outside when the weather is warmer.

  10. Good news that Fred is feeling better. I am hoping to get my flu shot soon and will stop by the pharmacy to make an appointment. Lopez is so cute! I’m sure the puppy pads will help out especially when it’s storming outside which I’m sure could be anytime now. We are expecting a lot of rain tonight and all weekend and cooler weather again. Have a good weekend! 👍 💦

  11. Good news on Himself. So glad he is feeling and doing better. Mr. Lopez is pad trained? Hmm, how do you go about breaking that? That would be something I would research, cause I'm thinking you don't want him doing this forever. Good luck with the continuing training lessons.

  12. Lynda....I think you're right. Doc likely had a reaction to flu shot. Sounds reasonable and likely.
You are really close to the 180s...yep no soda nor desserts. Hard to walk with all the activity at your house.
I have a stupid question...if Lopez is trained to the pads how do you train him to go outside for potty? Pads would be convenient for winter but you don't want them on your kitchen floor forever. I guess it will work out as he gets older. As much snow and cold as you get I don't think Lopez will want to go outside for potty.
Have a great day. Be well and happy.

  13. Well, glad that Himself is feeling better. Hmmmm . . . sounds like maybe his heart episode could have been related to the vaccination.

Sounds like little Lopez is coming along.

  14. A tiny breed like Lopez had better be pad trained, since he doesn’t have a large bladder like big dogs. You can still train him to go out through a pet door, too. But he won’t want to, in the winters that you have there. You are not able to constantly run him to the door every single time he has to go. That’s why that breed is like having a baby around the house. I am glad your Himself is better today.

  15. This is my fourth try, so here goes!
Glad to hear that Himself is "up to snuff" today.
I'm also glad that you are losing weight--and keeping it
off so far. Love the pictures of Lopez. He is adorable!!
Have a great weekend. Sharon Cyr

  16. My BFF has a bitty chihuahua, too, and hers uses puppy pads. Almost never goes outside. She needs back surgery and uses a walker so taking him out every so often would be very hard. Glad you discovered them for Lopez.

Happy Himself has returned to himself ;-)

I got my old people's flu shot today, too.

    We will be fit and healthy! Congrats on your weight! {{{HUGS}}}

  17. Love the photos of Lopez. Hubby and I will be getting the senior flu shots so I appreciate the info you shared. I'm not one to read all the side effects until I get one. Thanks.

  18. At least you can use pee pads for the winter and think about taking him out when it's warmer. You're probably right about himself but he'll never believe that! Glad he is feeling better though. I'm hoping to get my seniors flu shot on Wednesday.

  20. Little Lopez is just the cutest thing ever!
I think you figured it DH, but you know, we can’t tell them anything. Ah, old love!
DD and her young love are having a ‘staycation’ this weekend. This mama worries have I taught her enough (and well) about finances. Well, she’s grown, so it’s too late now!

  21. Doctors are the more difficult patients aren't they? Nurses can be second (wink, wink) I know because my sister and BIL are too. :D

  23. Agree that may be true. But getting to the cause may help. I am 11 years younger than that and having a rate issue too. Blessings to you both. Hugs.

  24. Not sure of the years in my comment. How old is Himself now? Stay safe.

  25. Glad Himself is more himself....no pun intended.

We always train our pups on the pads...much easier than cleaning up.
