Thanksgiving Day in Canada and all was good!

Various images from a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner at Son #2's house-We all brought food --I took pies-- Son#4 brought a cooked Turkey--Son#1 the potatoes---  --It was wonderful!

We are all double vaccinated so hopefully we will not get that virus! ---Oh--and I brought Lopez who was a hit with all the children.----

Once again, it is a rainy day here!---I managed to get a walk in before the rain began to come down in torrents---And I have blown a few leaves off the driveway this AM----  Lord love a Duck!---There are so many leaves!---- They are all down now but are everywhere--

To-morrow Lopez goes to the vet for his 1st shots--  whatever they are !---

It was a sad morning , sorta--  Himself helped me dismantle the huge dog crate in the upstairs hall. It was Tess' safe space--- She hated "wind"--and thunder, so always felt safe in her crate--It's nice to have the extra space, but, it brings back memories of a wonderful German---as in dog! --you know, one never gets over losing a dog---- Hopefully those memories fade  somewhat as time goes by--

So, I see on Facebook, Spark people saying they miss  the many teams and their members--(THAT IS US!)----I am pretty good about it now, I think, because I can meet most of yu on facebook, or on BlogSpot----  It seems like the whole Spark thing has changed so much!

--Mom used to say, "A change is as good as a rest!"---Lord love a Duck---  This was a huge change for me, not to Spark---not a  change of my choosing, really, in my life, but it seems that I learned a lot-- enough that I am still losing weight-

Isn't life so  weird?---  i like the "same old"--- same old----but--change , I suppose is good for me! Maybe Mom was right????

  1. Gorgeous pictures of your family Thanksgiving! Wasn’t it wonderful to be able to visit family on a holiday again! Sad memories of Tess but things will get better with time and now Lopez is keeping you busy so less time to be sad. I do miss SparkPeople too but Facebook and your blog is keeping us in touch. I like the myfitnesspal but just use it to count the calories and exercise. Have a good day! 👍 đŸ’Ļ

  3. Happy you had such a great holiday! (and that Lopez was a hit with the kids!)

Yes, change can be difficult...but it is what makes life interesting, and change is the only thing that stays the same. That's from a song.

    Have some pie for me. It's ok to skip the whipped cream! {{{HUGS}}}

  4. Loved the photos, thank you for sharing with us. Yes, I too miss the teams and the blogs and the people. I have so many email addresses but it's just not the same. I appreciate you posting your blog address every day - I click on it right away! Yes, it is so hard saying goodbye to a beloved friend, and our pets really are our friends. I still have some memories of Ginger and she's been bone for over 20 years.

  6. What a lovely family, together, and vaxxed, and loving on Lopez, who no doubt laps it right up! Yes, we are surviving, post-Spark, but we are still Sparking, just don't have a single big-tent web site for it.

Happy Thanksgiving... so much to be grateful for!

  9. Lynda, I just read your blog from yesterday but it wouldn't let me comment. I loved that pumpkin pie you baked and can just see a slice of it with whipped cream piled high on it.
I get frustrated too, at being limited in what I can do. So I wonder if that is what bothers Fred & makes him grouchy? (I'm not grouchy with my frustration, I grumble, lol)

What wonderful photos of your Thanksgiving and so nice that a son had it at his home. Gives parents a bit of a break by not having to cook and decorate for the occasion.

SP, what's SP? LOL I've gotten over it, it's gone and I'm okay with it, lots of friends from there are now keeping in touch on facebook.

Lopez would love being with children, lots of them to fuss over him and play with him.

Your mom's sayings are ones I used too. Am I really that old? Yep, I am. Smiling while I write that. Hugs to you and Fred.

  13. Looks like a family tradition is a change in progress, yet being together, which is most important, is still intact.

At some point both of our mothers had been in the hospital for surgeries shortly before Thanksgiving so we hosted here for both sides of the family, pot-luck style. It went over so well, Mom announced that we should make this our new family tradition. The in-laws preferred to do their own thing the next year, but we added a sister's in-laws for a few years since the mother-in-law who had always hosted was struggling with rapid Alzheimer's. Change can be good.

  24. What a wonderful Thanksgiving! You have such a great looking family. I had 12 here for dinner that day 2/4 of my grown children that live in this province and their families including mothers-in-law and friends. We missed those who are no longer with us as well as those in distant provinces- but maybe, next year! 🍁đŸĻĢđŸĻƒđŸŊ🍁

  25. The pictures look great and looks like everyone had a good time.
Have your children noticed differences in Himself yet?
We will likely go out for Thanksgiving when it gets here...unless we
decide to cook something at home...no longer have a dining table so if we invite the neighbors, will use fold up tables...LOL
