We are the Champions!

Well---The nursery  (which is really the kitchen) ----is now closed off--and there is another gate--to the dining room---a "gated community."
-and--that is Bristal board strung between the rungs---  because Lopez Martinez Sanchez --can fit between those rungs and escape into the Dining Room., where he could "Do his business" without me seeing him--Son #3, the Policeman son, come out yesterday afternoon and put up the barriers-

In case some of you haven't followed who Lopez is--well, he is the wee little fella who now lives with us--a Chihuahua- A friend asked me yesterday why we decided to get such a small pup --going from enormous German Shepherds --to Lopez-- "-BECAUSE WE ARE OLD"--is what I told her--and these wee little Chihuahuas live between 14 to 20 years--Lord love a Duck! --- -IF WE Are LUCKY! --I forgot that part!---

My weight is now ------(Get This!)---  191.5 ----I stepped onto the scales at 6am--then I stopped on them again---because , it is hard to believe that I might weigh  into the 180's , one day--sooner than later--I do find even my shoes are fitting better!

We have rain--- leaves all over the place--and dark cloudy skies-- outside!---And, tomorrow is Thanksgiving----and on the 13th , Lopez visits the vet for his shots--

Notice---  Lopez is now wearing a cat collar---which he does not like-- ut I can put a very light leash on him, and he can't run as fast, in the dark mornings while outside doing his business---Beau continues to lick him--and Sushi still is not happy with the whole situation--nor is Himself, ---but--himself will come around--I know he will---
I saw this  and thought of these "Pandemic Days" and how we have all adapted and are survivors-- It is quite amazing! ---  Hugs to all----We are the Champions---  (Isn't that a song?)

  1. Your little dog looks so bright! I hope Sushi and your husband come around soon and appreciate him, because he is so adorable and he sounds really sweet! So Beau is acting like he's a new daddy? Wow!

  3. Bit by bit, the adjustments are being made. Wee Lopez is adding much joy to your home, even with the disruption of having to make those adjustments.

Sushi will at best come to a form of detente with him, and Himself will at least do so... he always does come around when you add a new pet to the mix!

Have a wonderful Sunday! Have the grandchildren fallen in love with little Lopez?

  4. Such a cute photo of Lopez! We had to put a gate up to the room downstairs where we have the cat's dry food because Daisy was sneaking down and eating it when we weren't home. Then one day my husband was downstairs and she didn't see him - he caught her trying to squeeze her way underneath the gate. So now we've had to lower the gate!!! Great news on the weight loss - good for you!

  5. How do you get in and out of the kitchen. Does Lopez not sneak through when you open the gate to get yourself through. My niece used a playpen till the puppies were trained.

  6. Congrats on new number from scale. Keep up the good work. 180s are CLOSE.
Lopez Martinez Sanchez is now on lock down. I do hope Fred warms up to the little guy. Sushi will learn to tolerate him and Beau...well Beau has a new job...licking little LMS lol. I like your cat collar and baby proofing techniques. LMS is keeping you busy.
    Have a great day.
    Hugs

  7. I do not miss those times trying to potty train puppy's.

I stepped on my scales the other day and noticed that I lost 3 pounds, was hard for me to believe.

    Have a great Sunday

  8. Looks like things are improving daily and great news about the weight loss. I’m sure himself will come around but not sure about Sushi. Our Siamese Oakley never did get used to our German Shepard Kaedo but they did come to a truce. When our daughter married she left Oakley with us as her husband is allergic to cats and Oakley was much happier. Sorry to say neither is with us anymore and our African Grey parrot is now 22 and I’m sure he will be around after we are. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿฝ

  10. Little Lopez is helping the local economy, you may soon buy yet another gate. It’s amazing what ideas these pups come up with, to get around the house. Glad he has a collar and leash. Get some of those pee pads, get him used to those, you will not want to go out in a blizzard with him. Good luck!

  12. I am glad that Beau gets along with Lopez. Sushi may or may not come around. At least, I am sure, she will tolerate the little guy.

    Happy Thanksgiving for tomorrow!

Today is my day to play Bingo with my friends in our Community Room.

    Just try, my dear friend, to BE HAPPY! {{{HUGS}}}

  17. Oh, I feel like I'm back on SP reading your daily blog again. It's been kind of hit and miss, but your link on FB led me here. Your little addition is so cute. Congrats ....almost 180's!

  18. Doing fantastic with the weight. Gates are good. I've used them too. Just hope himself doesn't leave a gate open when he comes in/leaves the kitchen when you are outside. According to weather forecasts you're supposed to keep getting more rain - what a drag. Lopez will get used to the collar. I've had a couple of dogs that hated them too. One destroyed a few before she finally settled in to them.

  20. Lopes is such a cutie! He's bringing joy to your life. I think that's exactly what you needed. That is great that the others are getting along.

  21. Good job of correling Lopez! Just a thought. A Chihuahua's throat is very soft and if he is a puller at the lease, it could damage the throat. Look for a cat harness which goes around the shoulders and also the belly area. 2 straps around with a lease hook on a center bar. We went to those with our littlest one.
