I hear Santa is relaxin' in Florida!

We are in a really bad snow storm here--so far , it seems like about 2 ft of the white stuff has fallen-there is no way I can shovel it--I will soon,  break out the  snowblower , just to keep a path open--So far, we still have power---  AMAZING!---

And--Beau has been out with me--AND LOPEZ---  who had to hop over the snow--It was about 2-3 ft deep--  and--HE DID HIS BUSINESS-- Whatta good little guy eh?--Good thing we got out yesterday because it's not going to happen to-day-- AND--my hair is once again a big mess--I call it "snow plough" hair.

When we were kids, I lived in London, ON., and on a snowy day like this, we loved it--ran around  tunnels that we dug on the front lawn, shouting--B-L-I-ZZ-A-R-D-------WE thought all the snow was fun--- Lordy Be eh?---  How one changes as open ages--

So--if the power hangs in, I will return----One more day and the jolly old guy will be here--I think-- altho--I heard he was down in Florida right now, soaking up the sun----Well. I don't blame him!---I suppose he must need the rest before his long trip around the world.---  What is he bringing you?---Have you asked him for anything? I really hope he stops in Ukraine first--

"Keep yer Chin up"---  My Dad is shouting this to you all--lets all be merry and gay-(-By the way, my Dad never did like Christmas)-Funny that I remember that! --He used to say, "Bahhh--Humbug!"

I wish you'll health----- happiness---and- strength  to carry on, --even when you are "too pooped to pop"-

  1. Be careful outside today and take your time clearing the snow away. It is probably best to do a little at a time rather than try and do it all at once. Your health is more important than anything else. Hopefully one of your sons will come over and help you. Stay warm and safe.

  2. I hope the power will not go off and that someone will come cleaning the snow from your entrance. Stay safe, warm, and happy.

What a laugh - Lopez jumping over large snowbanks to do his business - he really is a good boy, I really hope your power stays on. Hope son #2 made it back from Florida safely.

  5. You got the snow we didn't get, but we got the cold temperatures, and that's a fact! The sun is shining, but it's not warming up a whole lot... but we SHALL get above zero today (we didn't yesterday). And that's us folks on the Fahrenheit scale!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas eve, eve-eve, and day up there where Santa lives year-round. By the way, your theory about him being in Florida might explain their frigid (for them) temperatures down there. My cousin is threatening to go out to the strawberry fields to catch photos of their ice jackets again! Last time we did this was in 2015.

  6. OH MY GOSH! 2 ft of snow. We have 4 in but the wind is whipping it into 2 ft. drifts. Have not been out there to deal with it yet, either. Way too cold.

Yup, I recall thinking snow was fun as a kid, too. Oh boy

Wishing you health, happiness and strength, too.

Have a wonderful Christmas Eve EVE.

  7. Please get your son or snow plow guy to tackle that driveway.
We have a dusting of snow over ice but the wind is horrendous and the temperatures deadly. I don't know how you do this. The wind chill is minus 30 F. Its horrible. I haven't been out as roads are too dangerous.
Yes, as a kid, snow was fun. Not now.
I wish you health, happiness and strength today and every day.
I hope our power stays on. Yours too.
    Hugs

  8. Hi Lynda,
We are having horrible weather here in SW Michigan. The wind chill is -40 we are having Blizzard conditions here. I have been filling my bird feeders. I am afraid the rate they are going I will run out. This wind is supposed to die down around 1PM tomorrow. But then the lake effect snow is to really kick in. I am hoping I will be able to go to church for midnight mass. (Which is now at 6 PM) They have closed off parts of I-94. Stay safe and call your snow plow guy to do his thing. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  9. The snow sounds horrible. We got about 8" on Wednesday and today the wind is just howling through the trees. Sounds like my wind chimes are going to jump right off. We are staying indoors for the foreseeable future. Hope things quiet by Christmas day!

  10. Take care, you guys, and Merry Christmas! We have blowing snow here in Central Ohio, about 3" and -5 degrees with a terrible wind chill.
Stay safe! No travel at all is better than an accident or worse. Love to all! :)

  11. Lynda….Please don’t wear yourself out snow-blowing….I worry about you doing hard labor out in those frigid temps!! Yes, I remember loving snow as a child, all the neighborhood kids would ride their sleds well into the dark of evening….great memories! Merry Christmas Eve, Eve!

  12. Lynda, how sweet your greeting is. And to you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and healthy, prosperous New Year.
Lopez IS a good boy. Haven't heard of an accident in the house in ages.
Honey, please be careful shoveling or snow blowing. I am sure with both of you having had medical careers you know about how to take it easy, hydrate, rest when you're tired, and if there's even a hint of chest pain STOP!
    I'm asking Santa for a place to live without such severe winter weather...maybe Hawaii...but for now just make it an early spring! {{{HUGS}}}

  14. Lynda, we spent 5 days in the hospital, left on Thursday for Illinois(500 miles north)in rain and drizzle all the way to Illinois, when we got off the interstate to go the "back way" to the daughter & soninlaw's house we hit snow, and 40 mph winds, the temperature dropped to 4 degrees above zero, and of course(Davids' Dr. approved his trip) David stepped out of the truck and on icy running board and
fell. It took me, soninlaw and daughter to get him up off the snowy ground into his wheelchair, and in the house. So we had a White Christmas...................came home on Weds. 12/28.
