Thoughts about a New Year-

Any New Years resolutions?---perhaps casual promises--that you may or may not fulfill?--Anyway, we have a couple days to think about it.--I try not to make too many New Year's Resolutions , as I never seem to  keep them--These I believe I can keep--

Did you know that the first full moon will be on Jan.6th at 6:08 pm EST. ?   It is known as the Wolf  Moon, as it's the time of year when wolves howl most often. I found that out in Harrowsmith's  Almanac 2023 wee book--This book is full of info that we don't really know about, plus so ,many weather predictions for the new year.

I was out blowing snow already--It has turned mild however and the snow sticks to the blades underneath the machine, so I finally quit. And--IT IS HAIR DAY_-Hopefully I can do a few errands while in town too!

What do you all do on New Years's Eve?---Are you planning on going  out?--Are you just happy to be in your own living room?--(I guess that is where I am going )-Years and years ago, we always " dressed to the hilt" and went to a dance , or a house party--Times change as one ages doesn't it?--
Lotza thoughts with the beginning of a new year-
-think about this--

  1. Happy hair day. I'm actually glad you had to stop snowblowing. I wish the boys would have helped but there will be other opportunities.
I liked your inserts. You are always positive and I admire that.
I'll be dressing for the living room on NY Eve. Never in my life did I go out to celebrate.
    Enjoy today. Stay strong.
    Hugs

  2. Lynda, that last statement is a great one! I don't make any resolutions because I don't stick to them, so what I'll say is that I'm going to work on doing better in 2023.

I remember back when we'd doll all up and go out on New Years Eve. Those days are gone for me too, I'll be here in my living room when the bells chime 12 times on Dec 31st. I doubt I'll be awake but believe me, I'm going to try to watch the new year come in on TV!

Enjoy the hair pampering, I get mine done every two weeks, it always needs it and feels good having it done.

Much love and many hugs coming to you, Fred, your family and your fur babies. xoxo

  3. No New Year's resolutions here. We will be doing as any other normal day, going to bed early and hoping there are not too many fireworks at midnight for the animals sake. Cool info about the moon. Happy Thursday.

  4. Glad you have your hair and care day! No going out for New Years for me, have NO desire to do any of that. Hate the idiots that do fireworks, too. They should sit on their fireworks! It will be a normal day. Hoping you and Himself will be safe!

  5. I will be making appetizers and snacks and staying home where it is warm and safe. No resolutions, just positive thoughts and hope we all have a better year!:) Happy New Year!

  6. No resolutions for me, although I like the idea of casual promises that I may or may not keep. I am ending a very challenging year with a knee replacement, spinal fusion, and 2 cataract surgeries. My only goal in 2023 is to enjoy my life and maybe plant a garden, now that I'm no longer in so much pain! I can begin the year enjoying things but the garden will have to wait until Spring!

  7. I know we’re going to spend New Years Eve comfy and cozy @ home. Back ‘in the day’ we would go to a dance or house party, too. Then marriages and kids, skipped the dance, just did the house party. THEN even that dwindled. That’s ok. Had fun and have those memories.

I hope that your hair day went well and you had a chance to do some chores, too.

  8. Hard to believe that there is only 2 days left of this year! I have around 10 people coming over. No one stays until midnight. I think that I am the only one in the group that will stay up! Traditional, I say! There are so many fireworks around that I probably wouldn’t sleep anyway.
Our snow is finally melted. I hear that will probably change tonight. We will see.
Have a great rest of the day and I hope that you had fun on your hair day!

  9. Funny, the trainer and I were asking one another about New Year's Eve plans... and we both are early to bed folks. We'll be likely doing nothing special. It was actually nice enough for a walk this afternoon, here. We'll see what happens overnight and tomorrow. I mean, after all, it is still December!

  10. We have lots of melting snow here, but more is due to come
Hope you get your hair and errands done. Must be easier without Lopez and Himself.
New Year's resolutions? I heard this on the radio: 12% of people plan to spend more time on their looks, and 3% want to spend less time. Wonder where that leaves the other 85%? Maybe like me: I want to be neat, clean and matching when I will see others, but very, very rarely try very hard to pretty myself up.
There is karaoke at our Eagles Saturday night, but we don't plan to go. Unlike some, we do not pour alcohol down our throats and act crazy (well, not much). There will be so many rowdies. AND I am pet sitting four cats and two dogs that I will have to do a nighttime run for. That's after one in the morning and one at supper time.
    In the old days when I was a young married woman, we had a party for the kids. All four were allowed to invite one friend. We had all kinds of snacks and sweets. We put out the new Christmas games and videos and let them stay up until midnight. Lots of times they all were asleep by then. It was lots of fun for them, not so much for mom and dad. {{{HUGS}}}

  11. Boyfriend will drive here from Columbus (Ohio) on Saturday, and we will watch the OSU Buckeyes play Georgia, I think it is. We will drink some champagne, and I will buy a cheese ball and crackers. New Years Day we will make a pork tenderloin and sauerkraut, along with some other yummy's. I get Monday off from work, he will drive back, and I will rest, most likely, or, my elderly neighbor may want me to come over and help her tear down her decorations. Bah, I don't make any resolutions anymore. If my health were better, I'd like to make a resolution to go to the gym every day after work, but most days I can hardly walk on my foot, let alone exercise on it.
