I like you because you Join in on my Weirdness!

I hope that you all are "up and at-er"---  coz---  you know who, will be here sooner than you can say "Johnny Robinson"--(Mom's expression again!)---of course it is snowing  here this AM--so, I was out , clearing the bricks-- and a couple Chihuahua trails on the lawn--and--  Lopez pitter pattered  outside with me, on the back road, with his parka on--  AND HE DID HIS BUSINESS--Lord love a duck eh?-- a wee little fella from the tropics, living near the North Pole, and adapting--unbelievable!

So, I have figured out Christmas , on a budget , with a million people in our family-- A  Xmas Flower Arrangement to the parents ---  and $$$ to the Grand Children --AND, yesterday Himself and I expedited  a Birthday gift card to Son #2 that Air Canada Pilot--

--and Himself and I now have presents under our tree--  LOL---  3 of them---which is a big deal when one is 80 and 94 yrs old-(Note--No wrapping-- which again is totally unnecessary when we are older than old! )

So, you best get offa here--  get ready for that jolly old man--
I am going to sit at the piano, all Christmas Day---  so, if you listen carefully, you will hear Christmas music , coming from our house, to your ears--

I believe the best thing we can do this Christmas, is to be happy-- even if one is alone-- get the music rolling--SING---  LOUDLY---  and --think of us --because I shall be thinking of all of you!--

  1. I would love to listen to you play on Christmas Day!
Enjoy the peace and the scenery outside. I am NOT a snow person, but your pictures are so pretty.
We still have snow on the ground and it is so cold outside. Even my pup runs inside and he loves the cold! Today I will take him to doggy daycare so that he can play. Although, he just loves to sit on top of a toy so that he can overlook his subjects! He is a goofball! What would we do without them?
Have a delightful day. And yes, Christmas presents sure put the squeeze on the budget. I’ve been trying to keep the budget on my Grandsons. I only have two boys and you know us Grandmothers… always trying to spoil! Ha ha

  2. I agree with the Christmas singing. On Sunday night we went to an event at our church. They set up a Potato Bar which was yummy but then 3 members of the church band/choir got on stage to play so we all could sing along. It has been years since I've sang Christmas songs and it was so much fun. When I grew up we always sang while my mom played the piano - didn't realize how much I missed that!

  4. I wonder what it says about me that reading "AND HE DID HIS BUSINESS" makes me laugh every time I read it. We can depend on Beau, but Lopez is the wild card, for sure. Snuggle in for the rest of the day, read, play your piano, and know that your friends are thinking of you.

  5. Awwww, so glad that Lopez is doing his business . . . even in the cold! Good boy!

Glad you got the Christmas situation under hand! Good job.

After all the planning here, ours will have to be postponed. Bad weather (as in blizzard conditions) and now Clara is sick. Ah well, we can celebrate next week.

HUGS and will listen for the music!

  6. Lopez seems to be turning into a real good boy. Sounds like you have the presents pretty much looked after. That must be a relief! Yes, on Xmas you should sit there and play the piano and enjoy yourself. 's supposed to do here.Sounds like the weather is going to be terrible at the end of the week. Please be careful especially if it gets icy like it's supposed to do here on Friday.

  7. Snow here was awful yesterday. Today was just COLD! Going to my daughter's house in Savage (closer to Minneapolis) on Saturday. Bought gifts for the three of them...4 including the dog. 2 or 3 of my friends here and my 'adopted' daughters in town (one winterized my car for me free!).
I will be listening for your Christmas music. Please play I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day. An oldie that I just don't hear anymore.

  8. This Arctic freeze coming is changing plans for lots of folks. I only have one grandson, Lego lover, so that was easy to pick out. The parents get a check, and books. Been baking, haven’t baked since dh passed almost 7 years ago. Seems to take longer to do anything now, mixing the dough, etc. Not as fun as it used to be. Your tree looks good, cheerful! Yes, play your piano and sing all night! Be happy!

  9. I like your arrangement/flower idea for the adult kids. Good choice.
Love your sense of adventure and wonderment.
Wish I could be at your house in person to enjoy your playing. I'd love that!
