"What we do to-day is what matters most"

Happy freezing cold Thursday-- It is minus 7C--and we had about 3 inches of snow over night- --I was out clearing the bricks in front of the garage-and made a couple Chihuahua trails over the grass--  but -- Guess what?--  The Chihuahua--Lopez--in his parka-and,  bare toe toes--decided to plough his way out to the back road--in the snow up to his tummy--AND _-HE DID HIS BUSINESS ---  in the snow--  Bless his heart eh?-- Right now he is all snuggled up in My afghan on MY couch---

So, I spent the past hour pouring over the bank statement, just to make sure that everything is paid with $$$$ left over for groceries.  I never used to worry about all that. There was always more than enough coming in --but--- not  "more" than enough anymore-- Am I the only one in this world who has to "go over everything  " ---like I do?--  I suppose it is harder now than it used to be too, as I am the one  that pays attention to all of this--Himself hasn't a care in the world---  lucky him eh?--

It is "HAIR DAY"--- I look just like the Lady in the picture-- the Lady whose hair looks pretty bushy--

Anyway,  big Beau was at the groomer yesterday-- Himself sat in the back seat  of the car, with him. He had that tether attached to his harness so he could not climb into the front seat---That is the same strap that people use to secure a baby seat in a vehicle---He did well , the Grooming Lady told me-- I helped him up the ramp , into the tub--  He looks absolutely gorgeous now-- all silky and clean--not shedding anymore-
We have sunshine-- with snow on the ground--the sun always makes difference doesn't it?

So how are you all?--  I had that flu shot about 2-3 weeks ago-- and FINALLY , that crazy cough that developed with that shot, is gone-- Praise the Lord!-- Did you get yer flu shot?---Are yu still wearing a mask?--   I do when I go in a store--

So, I must get offa here-- help Sadie vacuum a bit---Hopefully I will not resemble the wild woman in the picture when I return home--- I hope your day is absolutely the best !-- Only we can make it that way!

To-day is a new day---We area part of it-- We really are so fortunate!

  1. It is a cold day here today also. Boots, scarf and gloves weather. I find now when I get groceries I only buy things that I need and not any extras. It adds so quickly and you don't realize it until you get to the cashier. It sounds like Beau and Lopez are both doing well. I hope you enjoyed your time at the hairdresser today with other ladies to talk to. Enjoy today.

  2. I'm glad your cough finally cleared up, Lynda. Yes, I've had my flu shot. And we're up to five on the Covid ones. And I do still mask when I go into a store. We even masked at Thanksgiving last week, except for when we sat down to dinner. But we had very good cause because my son had been in "close contact" with a co-worker who tested positive. It's now been 8 days and he and his fiance are still testing negative, so I'm thinking we dodged that bullet.

Sunshine makes a huge difference, even when it's cold! Beau looks happy to be cleaned up, and hopefully you'll be just as happy after visiting the hair lady.

Have a good today and a great weekend ahead!

  3. It’s 34 and sunny. I bet Beau looks lovely and yay for little Lopez doing so well in that snow. Yes, I mask everywhere and don’t go out much and not around friends or family unless I am masked. The numbers come out every Thursday in Ohio. They almost doubled from last week! I am sure your daughter can tell you. I had covid in June and now have long covid. Not worth getting again for me. Smart that you are masking. I am sure your hair is beautiful. Stay warm!:)

  4. OH my, does sound cold! And look @ wee Lopez . . . plowing thru the snow and doing his business!

YES, I spend 1 day/week making sure finances are in order. I am always grateful . . . enough to pay the bills and enough to eat. Life is good.

Glad Beau (and YOU) survived his grooming. Yeah!

Yup . . . boosted, got the flu shot, wearing a mask. Definitely. Glad you cough stopped. How aggravating.

  5. Hope your hair appt went well! Little Lopez seems to be doing great! Yes, that grocery bill seems to rise every week down here, too. We are having leftovers from the Turkey breast we had on Sunday. Have plenty of gravy. Simple leftovers. Nothing fancy. Take care.

  6. Hope that you enjoyed your hair-outing! Glad Beau did well at the groomers and Lopez is a little trooper to ploughing thru the snow, isn’t he?! It was a pretty, sunny day in central FL although there was a bit of chill in the air…you’d probably have thought it was hot LOL!
And YES…the price of everything is thru the roof!! ❤️Eissa7

  7. Thank you for that comment about the flu shot and the cough. I had mine about 10 days ago and ever since I've had a cough and a little bit of congestion. Today my husband wondered if it was the shots (I also had my Covid booster). I spent my afternoon going over our finances. I track every cent and my husband also doesn't worry. I know this when he asks to buy a $200 thing that I KNOW won't get $200 worth of use! And every time we go to the grocery store he notices how much higher the prices are. I notice too but not sure what we can do about it - we do need to eat! I am just grateful that so far we can keep our house warm and have hot water!

Yes, I review the $$, hubs pays no attention whatsoever.
Yes, got flu shots and Covid boosters. Yes. I wear a mask in public...never stopped wearing one. We seldom go out but I do go to the store and other errands.
Hope you got a chance to play your piano.
Glad your cough is gone. I've had a sniffly nose for 6 wks. but thats no big deal.

  9. Not going great for me. Got my tree up two days ago and the bottom section of lights are not working! Think my kitties had something to do with it....but went out and bought a $27 light gun to try to figure out where the problem light/lights might be. So frustrating! Can't decorate until lights are all working. sigh - just bought this tree new last year.....and I am feeling overwhelmed....Maybe I shouldn't have spent a wonderful week in CA visiting son #3 - it was great, but now back at home I am frustrated and overwhelmed....so much to do....so far behind where I want to be. I feel like I am 8 days behind in everything! Yikes! Glad your little Lopez is being such a good boy! And Beau looks gorgeous!

  11. Very cold with the wind here, too. Wasn't this cold earlier. We even had some melting. Now everything is freezing again. It's very slippery out. I had a friend that was coming to visit from the far side of town. She changed her mind.
You always look great after your hair day. Probably even better than Beau!
    Don't let Sadie work too hard. Nap with a book or play the piano...or both! {{{HUGS}}}
