Make this next trip around the sun about you--

It is "HAIR DAY"--that is--if the weather co-operates-We are expecting a bad snow storm, and according to Son#2, it is sitting on our doorstep--
If you look closely yu can see "Elliot Lake" just above the blue- and to the rt-
In this picture, the storm is closer  so yu  only see Sault St Marie--We are 2 hrs to the west of the Sault-and looking outside right now, I see freezing rain falling, so it looks like the storm is here!-- (which probably means --No Hair  done to-day!)

Son #2 theAir Canada Pilot  is at the training centre , in a simulator--  training  how to open the escape hatch,   how to open water rafts-- and how to use the fire extinguisher --plus more-He said the flight Attendants usually  do all that, but the pilots need to know -- below are pictures of the Simulator-

I'm sure he is also getting the plane ready to pick everyone up for the big party to-morrow-- I told him that Jill and Nola are in Australia so he must go to Perth first.

Oh--Now I see snow falling outside---Lord love Duck! It seems that a storm is moving in here quickly!

Yesterday, buying groceries was  kinda awful--  $274 --- Lettuce is sky high in price--well, everything has gone up in price and by a lot!--It makes me wonder when this'll ever end?--  There were a few foods that I looked at--went to reach for, and then thought, "Do I really need that, at that price?"--so--I left whatever it was on the shelf--Of course , there were a couple more stops to pick up this or that--- so, of course I came home , tired---  AND--then had to drag it all into the house, and run up and down to get it  away--Do you find grocery shopping exhausting?---  kinda depressing?---I just wondered---Of course we are so fortunate that we have food-- I know that--

Maybe it's my age eh?----  NO--That couldn't be-Could it?---

-Oh my goodness!--It is snowing like a Banshee out there now!--  (Mom's expression of course!)--I wonder what a Banshee even is?--LOL--
I have posted the above before----  but isn't it an excellent thing to read again , and think about?-"Focus on what makes YOU Happy"---"What makes your Soul Feel at Peace"----"You are your biggest commitment"--

- In this Christmas season, do we ever think about ourselves?-- Life becomes so much more fulfilling when we are just simply ourselves, whether people understand us or not.

  1. Our NOAA weather radio went off so many times over night I lost count. We had thunder storms, tornado watches and warnings for all the counties around us and even our county at one point. I hope you have a wonderful birthday Lynda. Sorry you may not get a hair cut and style this week. ((Hugs))

  3. Oh, sorry to hear of the storm. YUCK – not a fan of winter.

Yes, son #2 has to get that jet warmed up and the engines revved up! We’re a’coming!

Yes, passed on a LOT of things due to the prices – had to be savvy in your purchases.

Hope that you don't get too much snow from this storm. We did get 2 in. of heavy, wet snow, but that's NOTHING.

Take good care a and see you tomorrow!

    Hugs

  5. So... will we all be snowed in together for your party? That could be kind of fun, don't you know? My sis in North Dakota sent photos of the snow there, and the road conditions maps, that basically said to the residents of the state "STAY HOME". I was watching flurries here in Nebraska ten minutes ago, but they seem to have stopped now. Mid-December... how typical!

Hang in there, all of us!

  6. We have had snow for about 18 hours now and it's still coming down. We had to go to my daughter's home to watch the little boys while she went to the doctor - so glad my husband is a good driver. I would have been a nervous wreck driving. Yes, it's exhausting to go to the grocery store - partly because we don't go as often as we used to so there's always so much more in the cart, and partly because of the high cost of so many things now! YIKES!!! Stay in and stay warm until the snow stops!

  7. Did you ever think about not using the fridge in the basement? So you would not have to go up/down steps? Just wondering.
I will be at the airport early for # 2 to pick me up, just taxi to a stop, drop the stairs and I'm onboard. #2 is super son for all this extra flying.
I quit going to the store as much...it is too awful when you go to check out.
PS: I have a friend in Minnesota who has lotsa snow and ice and freezing rain on top of that.
Lets build a snowman while we are at your house.....we are expecting
colder weather for Christmas, but we won't be here, be up at the family getogether in Illinois.

  8. Happy birthday eve Lynda
Sorry you couldn't get hair outing but you'll be beautiful for your party irregardless.
YES, I pick things up at grocery store and put them back down. Prices are so high
Grocery shopping is tiring.. i tend to go frequently as the total cost isn't as shocking. Seems I'm buying bananas at least every other day.
    Stay warm and safe.
Looking forward to the party, your piano playing, seeing everyone and building a snowman.
    Hugs
