Hurray--It's a brand new year!

It's a brand new year---and we all hope that it will be different--'specially from last year! ----So far--no virus here--so that is a good thing--altho , Himself and I did not stay up till midnight--  I went to bed with my book and Himself tried to sit in front of the TV, but kept falling asleep--so--  he come to bed too!--

And--we have snow--and cold temps--It is minus 9C-----To change the subject here, Himself commented on the 2 new pillows on his side of the bed--He noticed!--  He didn't object tho-- just said they were quite puffy--I told him that with age, they will squish down--and pointed out that there are much cleaner than the old ones and he agreed that just might be better for him! ---so--they stayed on the bed! Lord love a Duck!---What a house wife has to do eh???---

We had a whole day yesterday, without Lopez doing his business in the house--I put the timer on the stove on, every 90 minutes-- It seemed to work--I really should buy a book on these little Chihuahuas --They are extremely  different than a Shepherd! ---  His sweetest time in the day is when he falls asleep in my arms--which is becoming less and less as he  ages--  I think he must be over 8 lbs now!

--A new day--a new year--- and  new determination to get healthy---Oh--I read that Spark just might extend their membership to other countries--  I really must give that some thought--  What do all of you think?- So--until to-morrow--  "Keep your chin up" as Dad used to say -----

  1. Oooh. Tough call on Spark. They sure disengaged with us 'from other countries' quite easily. And you have done so WELL (losing weight - wise) without Spark. But that could be because you're very mindful it's up to each of us to keep on doing our best for ourselves.

So glad Himself thought having new clean pillows might be good for him - and you know, he just might have thought those new ones felt better too! I try to change mine out every couple of years. I used to sleep with 3 pillows to sleep upright but now it's just two. The top-most being the newest and the older ones get relegated to the bottom. It's after 1:30am. I MUST drag myself to bed. G'night from down under! ((Hugs)) ❤️

  3. I won't ever go back to Spark after the way they treated the "foreigners"
I could have stayed but they are also fixed on groups like work places and areas like cities... I didn't like what they did to change it at all.
Happy New Year and new us!

  4. Really? The so-called "new Spark"? I haven't gone over there in probably a month. They even renamed it: PeopleOne health. It's connected to a medical practice.

I was not happy with it in early days. It had no social / blogging element, and that has always been my most useful bit.

    1. I will not go over either to Spark Barb--- They haven't exactly said we would be welcome but they kinda talked around it--I too enjoyed the "social" element--"---

  5. Spark??? What's that? Actually doing better about tracking food and exercise than I was before. Guess it's that old bookkeeper in me. Keep a log of all that I want to count. Have lost 4.2 lbs. since going it alone. Hope you and Himself have a very blessed and prosperous New Year.
    Hugs to the fur babies.

  6. Yes, surely hope 2022 is a kinder, gentler, healthier year!

Hurray that little Lopez had a good day! Good boy!

Glad Himself accept the new pillows! Good boy!

Have to look into Spark. Haven’t seen that they are considering including those not in the US. The current PeopleOne Health (the newest Spark version), though, still is not equipped for members to communicate w/each other. **SIGH** That was the huge bonus w/Sparks.

It is going to be cold here, too. Snow overnight. Well, supposed to start tonight through tomorrow. We’ll see how much we end up. And WELL below zero temps.

  7. Happy New Year, Lynda! I sure HOPE for good health and happiness in the New Year for all! My friend (who I haven't seen in months, as she lives in Columbus), went to her parent's for the New Year and came down with COVID, she and her son went straight home and they will quarantine for 5 days. Her Dad had gone to his brother's who was ill and that's all it took. She just had one day of flu-like symptoms. At least for those who have their vaccines it seems to be much more mild.
I STILL don't want to catch it, as I am just recovering from bronchitis.

  8. Nah...Spark is too corporate and hated the way they broke up communities. Cause we were friends across many nations.

  9. You mean Spark is updating again? Hurrah (maybe). Where did you read it.

Love the blog today...even more so than some other days. It is full of great news: pillow, Lopez, no virus, Himself not complaining...

Let's hope it continues like that, huh?

Our get together in our Community room is cancelled due to the Bingo caller being ill. She can hardly talk.

Cold here, too. -8F. Google says that's -.22.22 celcius. Brr... Needless to say, I am NOT going out.

    You and yours have a wonderful week ahead. New Year, some same goals, some new ones...and a positive attitude. I love it! {{{HUGS}}}

  10. Spark doesn’t deserve you and all the other people they dumped. I chose to leave them because reading the blogs was the best part of it for me. Happy New Year!

  11. Yes you heard right, when they get all the new IT people to make changes they would have the rest of the world join the new People One Health. Chris Downie said they still need to make more money to be able to hire those peeps. You have to understand there is still no social element as yet. I only hear when Chris Downie makes a post on Facebook Spark Alumni. However I still check in with the new People One Health everyday to hold some accountabiity. It helps keep me on the straight and narrow!
    Happy New Year all!!!

  12. Happy New Year Lynda. Spark probably wants us to come back so they can charge us to do so and they can make more money. We weren't good enough for them earlier in the year so why now? Glad Fred liked the pillows and Lopez had a whole good day. How is Beau? you never mention him anymore. It's getting real cold and will be snowing in southern ON soon but you're still way ahead of us! Stay well.

  13. So glad Himself enjoys the new, clean pillows now! A good idea. Old Spark, their so called new, corporate thing is not great, folks that work for companies, are filing lawsuits against companies trying to force them to undergo healthy living rules, find it that kind of thing is illegal!! So Spark cannot make enough money that way. Human nature wins out.

  14. I have no interest in going back to Spark. I missed it when we were let go because I enjoyed the chats. But now I am on here with you. Also 7 of us from a team I was on started a wee chat line and I am quite enjoying it. It does not take nearly as much of my time and I also have managed to lose a few pounds.

  16. Happy New Year, Lynda! I hope 2022 proves to be a much better year - we've all earned it!

  17. We have earned a better year with dealing with the last 2.
I believe I can get to my goal weight this year.

  18. Time to celebrate Lopez's success. He's getting there. The timer helps I'm sure.
    Have a good evening

  19. Happy New Year to one and all.

Glad Fred liked the pillows. Bet the other ones were bothering him but he didn't want a new one....

Keep it up with the timer and Lopez. I am sure Lopez does not want to go outside in the cold. So just keep doing what you are doing.

I have mixed emotions about the new Sparks. I keep thinking how much you have been losing with out Sparks. But it is your choice. I am just not happy with how they treated everyone outside the US. I know they need to make money but I wished they had let us know a lot of people I am sure would have been glad to pay a little something. Those are just my thoughts. I have no desire to go back to Sparks.

  22. Happy New Year to you and Fred! I don’t post often, but I read your blog every day. I even tell my family about you! You’re doing great with your weight loss. I know you’ll reach your goal!😊

  23. A great new year day! Lopez was behaving accordingly. Yay!

  24. Yay for Lopez being more successful! Double Yay for the pillow win! As for Spark, I missed them at first, but wasn't too interested in going with them because they dumped the pretty much the entire world. I actually like MFPal's food diary and recipe apps better. And, I still get to read your blogs!!
