Sadie the cleaning Lady comes on a cold day!

Probably it will be "Sadie", the cleaning Lady  who will be here--who, as yu all know, is really me! --

We have a ridiculously cold morning here-minus--MINUS 24 C---and that is cold! -but-- (that big butt!)-we do have sun WITH NO SNOW FALLING--YET!---  Poor wee Lopez , went out to do his business  at 6am--in the dark (with me!)---and ran back in--We have a break thru tho-- I looked at him about an hour later, and there he was sitting inside the front door, staring at me--FINALLY! He has associated the front door with  "doing his business outside and me"-----It has taken almost 5 mos to get to this point!--There is hope!

It's quite a procedure to get him outside-- I struggle with bis parka as he chews on my hand as I try to get his 2 front feet into the leg holes--then the harness--then my parka-- and my boots-- and this morning a face mask--Lord love a Duck! --With Beau, we just open the door and he runs outside--

The trees were banging , across in the bush , outside to-day. When it is this cold. the wood contracts (or something) and yu can hear huge loud bangs--So, on a day like this, it has to be memories of summer time, to keep one going--

Dock days---
---warm summer days on the lake--and daydreaming  in the sun!
The best is yet to come---  Lord love a Duck! --so, until to-morrow, I hope we all stay safe-- and if yu are en route to Vancouver, you might meet Son#2, the Air Canada Pilot---winging his way west!

  2. Stay warm up there! Sounds like Lopez is learning the drill... and it's quite a drill this time of year.

  3. Good job Mom and Little Lopez. He has you trained . .. oops . . . NO . . . you have him trained, right!?! Had the same struggle w/Miss Lilly. Got her a new, heavier winter coat. She was chewing @ me the whole time I'm getting her front paws through the legs. OY. Made a 2 min. job 5 minutes, but it got done. She has a hooe on her coat, too, but she is a maniac with that on, so I just keep it off her head unless truly needed. This morning was frigid here, too, but the sun is out, so didn't feel that bad!

    Continued luck w/Little Lopez!

  4. It sure is cold. It was -15 here this morning but has gone up a bit now. Mine doesn't even like to have her coat on. Sometimes it takes longer to put it on than the trip does. Good thing she has tons of fur to keep her warm. So at least Lopez let you know and then went out. Things are looking up! Hope it continues. Have a good day.

  5. Our morning started at -19 Fahrenheit and isn't going to warm up to even 0 today. I do have a sweater for Daisy but she has a lot of fur and it's even fluffier than usual. This morning she didn't mess around - ran outside, took care of business, and ran back inside with her ears flopping. Can't say as I blame her! Stay safe!

  6. Our two dogs, rescue Maltipoo's that joined our household when way beyond the potty training stages, each STARE at us when it's time to go outside. One sits at the patio door and waits for a human to appear and one finds a human and STARES intently as if inviting one to read their mind. Now, if there is a squirrel in the yard it is a different matter. Keep warm.

  7. So he's 5 or 6 months old now. He's at the age where housebreaking will be a breeze because like I said before, this is when dogs can control their bladders and such. Accidents will probably be less and less because he is growing out of the "baby" puppy stage. Keep working with him. Also the coat which I can understand but there has to be a warmer and easier to put on and off. I'd do some shopping on the internet to see what's out there. Our friend had one that just had a Velcro strap that went around the body. Never had to fuss with putting in legs.

  8. Cold here too -11C this afternoon. I have supper ready to put in the oven and my house has been cleaned so my chores are done. Now I will just stay in and read today. Take care and try not to let anyone freeze especially Lopez.

  10. It was -27.222 her this morning. I am NOT going out! That's one think about keeping an indoor kitty as a pet.

I dream of summertime, too. It's beautiful then. Not that the snow's not lovely. It is, but has it more headaches.

We have hot water heat in our building, and it does NOT maintain a steady temperature in anyone's apartment. We all suffer cold at one time or another...different times for different apartments. Some residents boil water to add heat and humiity, some turn their ovens on. I have a great space heater, but it make the electricity bill soar!

I just add and take off clothes depending on the comfort of the temperature and the activity level I'm maintaining.

Yes. Getting rid of covid and masks...and winter's cold; welcoming in spring and summer, hugs and seeing people's smiles...nothing could be better!

What happened to getting Lopez to use the bell? Didn't work for him, huh?

  13. Glad Lopez is finally making headway with the potty outside.
Putting on his coat, complete with bites of appreciation LOL. The two of you sound like quite the pair in your winter attire.
Crazy cold single digit temps in St.Louis.
Glad to hear pilot son is recovered and back working.
    Come on Spring.
    Stay warm well and safe
    Hugs
