Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year!

It's a weekend--- and make it the best weekend!!--  We are in the middle of a snowstorm ---a bad one!--

This is a view from Son #4, in his plough, looking out--He probably was up all night ploughing ! I have been out trying to keep the Chihuahua trails open, for little Lopez, but as soon as I shovel  a trail, it fills up fast--It's a hopeless situation!

We are doing pretty good tho--with 3 dogs living with us. Son#2 is still here visiting--

Here he is with Gerrard, his dog---  then we have big Beau, and wee Lopez--Lord love a duck, I hope that I don't lose my mind--let the little stuff go--(like vacuuming)---just enjoy this pilot's visit---I actually have the washing in -- lunch planned (Jamaican patties)- and I'm very happy that Son#2 is not heading back to Toronto to-day as the roads must be terrible---
Here are the2 big dogs-- a German and a blond cutie!
I saw the above and thought--YES----Write it in my heart that every day really can be the best day in the year--especially if I believe it!

  1. Don't send that snow this way . . . it is supposed to miss us . . . but holy cow it was cold this morning -15F (-26C) . . .dog didn't even care to get out of bed . . . how did she know it was that cold . . . we just took a short walk so she could do her business and cam right back in. Glad Son #2 is saying a little longer, I know you enjoy when he is there.

  2. I totally agree about making today the best day of the year. Enjoy the lovely visit of your son and forget the cleaning chores until after he leaves. So happy for you! The doggies must be having a blast too.

  4. Stay in, stay safe, and enjoy the visit with Son #2. Thank you for the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote -- it used to be the first line on my Sparkpage, and I would see it every day. (sigh) Thank you for keeping the Spark alive.

  6. Sounds like a really bad storm. We had enough earlier in the week so don't send it to Toronto. City is still cleaning up for that one! It's a long drive for there to here and Barrie area keeps getting snow squalls. Hopefully he has a small plane he can use! Glad he is staying for a longer visit since you hardly ever get to see him. And Gerrard seems to get along with your dogs so that's good. If it keeps snowing poor Lopez won't want to go out til spring. Have a good day.

  8. You are right, Lynda...our lives, the kind of day we have...all of it IS ABOUT WHAT WE BELIEVE!

Better your son be safe than travel in the terrible weather. There are people that love this weather, though. We gotta just go with it...after all, we CHOSE to live where we do.

Take care with the shoveling. You need to stay healthy.

  9. Yes! We got up and are breathing, and that automatically makes it a good day. Being surrounded by loved ones as you are, makes it extra good! Hugs to all (virtual, antiseptic, of course) from you Spark friends, refugees as we all may be!

  10. Get out the doggie pads! No point in humans going out with dogs all the time. So glad your son is still there, since it’s hard to get together with him. Keep warm, enjoy the food, the cleaning will be there after he is gone. Think fun and smiles…..

  12. Enjoy time with pilot son and his cute puppy. Glad he's staying longer. The cleaning will be there another day. Play the piano, play cards, laugh.
City worker son will be busy for quite a while from the looks of things.
    Be safe, warm and well.
    Hugs

  13. I think what you have gotten in the same storm that was going though our area as well. Or it's yet to come tomorrow. We are not home so not having problems and worries about driving. But do think of our kids that live near our home. We are in TX. and the temps are cold for here of 40 to 47 degrees. Lots of clouds and winds. Snow wouldn't be good with the winds. Take care and enjoy your family!

  15. How great to be visiting with your son and that you got the bonus of him staying over. It was probably best, I heard that the roads were really terrible, lots of hidden ice under the snow.
