I was standing on the bridge, at the boat launch, looking down over the river which flows out of the lake here. It was minus 26C this AM, when I was over there-- The garbage dumpsters are over there , so I was dumping garbage-- and-----then I drove into town to go to Foodland--The car was still pretty cold and stiff , even when I arrived at the store.
Up here in the North, even tho our vehicle is in our garage, we plug our cars in-- Cars here come with a plug attached to something in the motor to keep the engine warm.---I don't know how many times when the kids were small, that I'd jump in the car and drive way, with a plug dragging behind mNow I put a big sign on the steering wheel, "Unplug Car"----
So, I am late blogging--- But--I have sufficient food in the house, as we are expecting snow to fall, this evening and all day to-morrow. I will be able to stay at home-- and shovel--
I feel like I need to be a wee bit silly--dance--act up--whack away on the piano--break open a beer--just to break the everyday monotony --- I think the Pandemic is beginning to get to me-----Sometimes a "wee bit of Crazy" is good for one! Sushi--the cat who came in from the cold--well, a look-alike Sushi--So, I'm back there to the bridge again-- --I like the above--Relax---Breathe-- and be patient! Life is so precious! Lord love a Duck!---- We are so fortunate to be alive!
Toronto got about 50 to 60 CM/24 Inches of snow yesterday. Can't imagine getting that much snow in one day. Even the Expressway was closed. We had several inches here but the sun is shining today and son-in-law was here and cleaned the snow all out early this morning. Love the picture of the kitty. Reminds me of a picture of DH when he was two. He still loves kitties. Enjoy your day and don't work too hard.
ReplyDeleteYes, today was replenishing the freggies, including bananas. Green, so they should last for awhile.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you, and yes, today is a good day for a little silly!

Freezing cold front on the way to Central Texas with predicted wintry mix of sleet, rain and possible snow flurries. Soup 'in the works' in the crock pot.
ReplyDelete"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson is on a meme in my virtual folder.
Amen, we are fortunate to be alive and breathing. Extra credit for kicking!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and warm up there, my friend!
The wind is howling here and tonight is the start of another deep freeze. Our driveway and road are icy from the snow that turned to rain and then back to snow yesterday. This year I am tired of winter.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you shopped and all prepared for the next round of snow. It feels better when you know you have your usual groceries in your kitchen, come what May! We are getting the Alberta Clipper tomorrow night, another blast, so I’m ordering groceries delivered tomorrow already. Take care of yourself and Himself, and the fur babies.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you getting more snow. You've already had so much. We got dumped on big time - they actually closed 2 expressways for quite awhile and the 401 was a parking lot. Apparently some people were stuck there in their cars all day without moving. Glad I stayed home. I went out for a bit earlier for a drive of less than 10 minutes to Walmart and saw at least 8 buses stuck on the side of the road and now plowed in. Who knows when the cleanup will be finished - it will take a while. And parking lots are way worse than the streets. Hopefully we don't get much more this week. And you don't either. Now that you got groceries maybe you won't have to go anywhere for a few days - other than a walk.
ReplyDeleteLove the sanity meme!!! Exactly how I feel!!!
ReplyDeleteAlways good to be grateful for what we DO have, and do a gratitude list from time to time! :)
ReplyDeleteIts a good day for goofiness...silliness...anything to break the monotony. Loved the picture with the kitty. Adorable.
ReplyDeletePlay the piano, relax, smile and enjoy today.
Hugs
it is good to see that you are all safe and warm
ReplyDeleteAlways grateful for life. God is so good.
ReplyDeleteWe are going grocery shopping tomorrow as we are supposed to get
snow/sleet mix Thursday(doubtful) we get it but just need a loaf of
bread and some meat items....and a box of spaghetti. Hope we can find
what little is on our list.
Good Morning, Lynda
ReplyDeleteSorry It has been a while since I have been on your blog. Life has a way of getting into the mix. We are staying home also because of Covid. I feel like life is just passing me by. We have missed so much.
How are you doing with your weight? I have put on 3# since SparkPeople ended and I can't seem to get back on track. I did start a new medicine and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I still walk, when the road is not icy. I love reading about Lopez and I am glad you and himself are doing well. Take care and have a great day.
It's always great to have enough food in the house. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteGrowing up my folks always kept the car in the garage but also had it plugged in. Now I live in south central WI I do have my car in the garage but even if it hits-30 Degrees F. I have no problem getting it started. However, I envy people who can install remote electronic starters. It would be nice to have a warm car in winter!(((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteTomorrow we are going to have a high of 9. I guess I shouldn't complain because your weather is so much worse.
