-- I just might be in the Depths of despair!

It is minus 30C--- Horrible! --not fit for man nor beast--but---WE are having a great time with Son #2 the Pilot--who will be heading back to Toronto to-day  with Gerrard, his dog.
Tis was Gerard this AM --He is like a "human"----likes to sit on a chair like people---

Last night we went to Son #1's place to eat dinner-- I had fresh pickerel--- so good! - All the Grandchildren were there --- That is the first time we have been out with them, in 3 years-- It was so so nice!

Here is Himself with Son #1 and Son #4  ----
-some of the Grandchildren, who are growing--
So to-day I am happy--- This afternoon I will be so sad as Son #2 that Pilot guy will be heading back home--- WE shall miss him --

My Mom used to say, "It's nice to see them come, and nice to see them go"----  but--I am afraid I sink to the depths op despair when they leave--Lord love a Duck!----

  1. It was nice of him to come and break up the monotony of this pandemic . . . and bonus with dinner out and grands.

  4. How wonderful that you were all able to be together, if only for a few hours. My children were all here this summer for a dinner celebration of their dad's 70th birthday. As much as I have been angry with that man, he did give me 5 wonderful children and it was so nice that we were all together!

  5. So glad you ALL could get together, wonderful! It does your heart good to be there. This Covid stuff has messed up so many people, even if they never caught it! Enjoy it all, even if you have to say goodbye, too.

  8. Oh, that picture of you is cute!! And Gerard ... funny that he likes to sit in a chair like a person. So glad you were able to spend extended time with Son #2 and get together with a larger group of family. It does feel lonely when family is there to visit and they drive away.

Hopefully you can regularly make time for some of the things you enjoy, and text to the kids and grands a bit to stay in touch. It seems with the younger folks that texting is preferred and responses more likely ... I actually pretty much prefer it or Zoom myself if I can't chat with someone in person. Do you think Himself would feel a bit happier if you all were able to have short Zoom/Facetime (or whatever you all use) with kids and grands on a regular basis?

Hope you have cheered up by now.

  9. Too bad son #2 has to leave already. Hope he doesn't have to drive all the way. That is very cold it's bad enough here but not as bad as you. Poor Lopez must be very unhappy with it. Gerrard is such a cutie and looks very well behaved. At least son #2 keeps in touch all the time.

  13. It makes me happy that you had this time with your family, I know what you mean about being in the depths of despair when the leave. Its never easy to see them leave and even harder when you don's see them as often as you would like. Chin up, my friend, It is not forever.

  17. How wonderful that the family was able to get together -- I can just imagine how it was to have them with you, all talking at once, smiling and laughing and eating. We're almost through January: "If Winter comes, can Spring be far behind?" (Percy Bysshe Shelley). Thank you for sharing the photos of those happy faces.
