Yesterday evening, a terrific thunderstorm hit, just as I was taking the dogs out before their bedtime-in fact the 4 of them ran ahead of me, and just as I opened the door to go down the steps, a huge flash of light, and an enormous boom--It seemed like it happened right in front of my face---Apollo ran right back in, and following him, were Lola and big Beau and then Lopez--
I figured we were going to lose power so I ran upstairs to turn off the IMAC--and--- guess what?---This morning the I Mac would not connect to the internet-so----I called Son#2, the Air Canada Pilot who told me, "Well, you must not be connected to the internet."----- How does he know all this stuff?--- I looked at the symbol at the top of the screen, and sure enough, I was not connected to the server that I use--after clicking on that, everything was OK--What on earth would I do with out this Pilot son?---He also told me that when I turn off the computer, everything gets messed up and yu have to correct it all-- I usually just put the computer in "sleep mode"--There are times I think that life might be so much easier if I had married a Computer geek--
Lola and Lopez-
Speaking of hugs ... I have a Handyman that's so good - he's rather busy. But if I need him, he finds a way to come take care of whatever disaster is happening or this past week, he hung up a large TV a friend gave me on my bedroom wall. He was in the habit of doing a fist bump as a way of saying hello and g'bye. After getting to know him, and I have lunch with his parents once a month - I informed him in a no nonsense way that no more fist bumps. Hugs are the currency! I don't get daily hugs anymore so I'll take any I can get, and it turns out he's a pretty good hugger. I'm enjoying the large TV - I've gone 5yrs without a tv at all and this came with an Apple TV so I have access to all the fun stuff. It's been a really nice stress reliever for me. And no, of course I'm not watching any news at all. I get news in my Email and that's enough for me. Anyway (((Big Hugs))) ❤️
ReplyDeleteHey--so good to see yu before your bedtime!--I have your last email sitting in my email--but those 2 dogs were kinda sent my way--- to have me dog sit them--so there your email sits--LOL
DeleteI am happy for yu to have that large TV and yes, it will take you into another world for sure-- Good for yu! How did you ever go 5 yrs without a TV?--Anyway--I do enjoy hearing what goes on in Australia--and I shall send you a big hug-- *S*--Lynda
We have had some bad storms here but we needed the rain so not gonna complain.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of computers, yesterday caught a speaker wire in the vacumn,
presto-my speakers quit, so I have no sound on my computer. Ordered a new set last night.
Oh my goodness--Ive done that too--caught a wire in the vacuum and its always something important-- LOL--Lynda
DeleteOH I LOVE that Daffy Duck meme!
ReplyDeleteChuckling @ your story about the 4some heading back in with that crack of thunder and lightening. I was out in our front yard w/Miss Lilly to give her the last potty break of the day and the clouds and wind came rolling in and a crack of thunder and lightening. Well, she did her job zip zip and she ran for the door. LOL We can be fast when we need to be! We didn’t have any damage, but north of us got whacked.
Yes, love that awesomeness meme, too. It’s exactly right.
HUGS right back to you, always!
hugs

same here Barb--- that thunder, and in all the dogs came--A huge tree limb fell off a tree in front of the house---big time wind-Lynda
DeleteGood morning. Loved the inserts. Apparently, I'm extra awesome as I have extra fluff.
ReplyDeleteI also liked the slap an idiot insert...of course I won't do that but there are times I'd like too.
Pilot son is a keeper. He's so helpful and thoughtful...always checking on you two. I need a tekkie grandkid...I have no grandkids. When computer doesn't work...I'm done. I barely know my way around the phone. Dinosaur
I'll be happy for you when the extra paws go back home. Maybe a niece or nephew could stay at sons house to care for the dogs next time or he could hire a dog sitter to stay with them. Not too much longer so hang in. I bet the dogs were frightened by the storm. Many dogs get extreme anxiety in storms.
Have a great day. Be safe....can't have the dogs tripping either of you. I'm pretty sure himself is ready for the extra pets to go home.
Hugs
It has been a difficult day with Himself today--I guess I just need to get him out--and yes, son#2 is a big help to me--but he lives so far--The storm last nite was terrible--loud with lotza lightning--Lynda
DeleteGood morning! Glad the dogs are being "good" and that the days with them are waning down to when it will be "just you all". Even two GOOD dogs are two more dogs to care for!
ReplyDeleteI think we all love routine more the old-er we get.
So true Barb--We enjoy routine-- not much longer and these wee dogs will go home--- It has been a difficult day with Himself-- which adds to the chaos-- There are days I'm not sure how long I can handle him--Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy - love the first meme! So true. I especially get frustrated with bad drivers. Many a time I'd like to get out and ask "what are you doing???" Last night, about an hour after I watered the flowers, just as little Daisy wanted to go outside our sky opened up and dropped a load of rain on us. She went off the step, realized it was raining and came right back inside! She's not a fan of rain. She's 10 now and such a sweetheart. I brought her to the groomer's yesterday and the house was so empty for 3 hours! I'm glad you got to get away for a bit yesterday. I just had an hour conversation with my youngest daughter who has a 3 and 4 1/2 very busy boys. All she wants is some time to herself. Their father is abusive to her so she has a restraining order against him but he is suppose to have supervised visitation - he hasn't seen his sons in weeks! Too much trouble for him I guess. Everyone needs some time to themselves now and then!
ReplyDeleteOh yu are so right--- I just decided this morning that Himself must goto a day program which he will not like--but--it is more for ME--- to get me away from him--He can be very abusive--Your wee Daisy sounds so sweet--We had a storm pass thru here last nite also-- Lynda
DeleteYou were early blogging today! I know what you mean about computers and the internet! Two of my son's both work in the computer field! They help me a lot! Sometimes I feel so dumb because I can't figure out the technology of my phone or watch or email or computer etc! And today will be awesome! My son and grandson are here with me for a week. They live in CA and my other kids that live closer will all be getting together this week! So nice to have a full house! I will be tired when they leave, but I am going to enjoy not being alone and having company while they are here!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful that your family will be there!--I really hope that you can just sit back and enjoy them---Yu certainly deserve that Sandra--Lynda
DeleteI knew we had a lot in common. I just had trouble connecting to the internet myself! I use a wi-fi unit. The PC said it could not connect to it. I was lucky this time. I just turned it off for a couple minutes, turned it back on and...voila!...I was connected. In the past I've had to call for help. You hope someone answers and you don't need to leave a message!
ReplyDeleteMy check did post so now I have to pay bills. That's online, too. Sure glad my connection came back. I'll also do some shopping. I only have one dying banana.
I love it when it storms...UNLESS it's 'right in front of my face' or very nearby. That's must have scared all of you! Hope the dogs were able to hold it until the worst of the storm passed.
Need to go the the UPS store, too, to return something to Amazon. They send it for you at no charge.
I trust you, Himself and Sushi are all fine. How does Sushi react to the additional dogs?
All for now. {{{HUGS}}}
Yes as soon as our cheque comes in, I pay bills also--and always hope there is enough for groceries after--and there usually is-Funny that yu had computer problems also-- --One more thing--Sushi is afraid of Lopez-- I need to put her cat tree where she can see downstairs so she would get used to him---
DeleteIt has been a "trying" day with Himself--- hate that!'Hugs--Heading to the bath--Lynda
Extra awesomeness is a good thing! Lol Those doggies are so cute! Lopez will miss his company. I struggled with internet on my phone today. My 15 year old nephew helped me. He unplugged the router. Lol So nice of your son to help you. He is great! Hot in Ohio today. I did get 20 minutes of vitamin D on the deck. That was nice. Enjoy your evening!
ReplyDeleteIsnt it funny how these kids are so computer literate?--Lynda
DeleteI love the meme about the weight and the little girl, also the one about an idiot! Your pilot son is a man of many talents. You're lucky you have him to help. The dogs are cute. Mine won't even go out at the first sign of thunder or lightening - even if it's 4 in the afternoon - that's it for the day. We had a bit of a storm last night but not til about 8 or 9. Have a good evening. Brenda
ReplyDeleteOh Brenda--It has been a "trying Day" with Himself-- Some days go so well and then we have these very bad days---and there is no rhyme nor reason for the change-- We had a bad storm last night too-Lynda
DeleteOne time when I was having computer problems and had called the help desk at the company (still under warranty) the nice service desk person told me that if you UNPLUG the computer and hold in the power switch for about 30 seconds, a lot of problems will correct. Seems it clears out something. Then release the switch and turn it on. Hey, it works most of the time! Has saved me a lot of frustration. I figure it is worth a try when something isn't right. D.
ReplyDeleteJust want to add that I use a laptop computer but don't know why it wouldn't work for the other type too.
DeleteI definitely will try that also--Thank yu so much-Lynda
DeleteYes, unplugging causes it to “reset”. Same thing with a satellite dish…..
