Another day--- another dollar--(well, maybe!)--The sun is out-cooler than it has been-- Big beau has been out--Lopez walked but has to be "re-walked-"- The house seems very quiet with only 2 canines---but--much more restful---The news of the day here is that Gas prices are up--and will climb even higher I hear, on Friday-- (What else is new I guess)--
Well, son#3, and family, arrived home--- have their dogs, Apollo and Lola, but, left Toronto, after a 1054 hour flight from Hawaii to Toronto-- (well it must've seemed that long--but it wasn't really) --then, jumped in their SUV, and drove north--a long drive, to here in Elliot Lake--and-----in the dark, also--They avoided colliding with a Moose (which is larger than a horse)-right in the middle of the highway, and then hit the baby moose who was following its Mom--They are all OK--- Their vehicle was drivable---so they made it home, but all were pretty shook up---- happy the accident wasn't worse--extremely happy that they didn't hit Mrs Moose or the whole story would've been much worse--sad about the young moose, who did run into the bush--
I wondered why it took Son#3 all day to get out here to get his dogs--totally not like him--and I had a nagging feeling that something was wrong--but I kept trying to dismiss that terrible feeling--
They are all OK---It could've been worse--There is a GOD up in Heaven, for sure--We are grateful for that!--- I do miss Lola and Apollo a lot, but ---4 dogs is a lot of animals in one's living room--I would keep them again however (NOT NOW THO!)---as boarding a pet is so hard on that pet---So happy that all that is over and "all's well, that ends well"---(Mom's expression!)
I am happy to hear that your son and his family are all okay after their run in with the moose. That could have had a terrible ending and I can imagine that it was very traumatic for them. I love your posters today especially the little girl praying. Have a relaxing time getting your hair done today. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteMadeline--- I had such a terrible feeling all day--because he never came out to get the dogs till around 4pm-- so not like him--- As soon a he got here, he told me to look at his wife's SUV-- then I saw all the front end was smashed in---- He was pretty much not himself ---He said, "All I wanted was to get home"--- He shudda stayed in Toronto , before driving north in the middle of the nite----- SO so happy they are all OK--He felt sad that he hit the baby--said he was quite sure it would not live as he hit it hard--missed the Mom-hit the baby--but--if he had hit the Mom, his vehicle probably wud've rolled over--said the 2 girls were crying and crying-- Lynda
DeleteIt's Kathy. I'm so glad no one was hurt with the Moose experience. We've seen Moose occasionally when we go up North (which we haven't done in years) and they are very big! I nearly hit a deer a couple weeks ago. I picked my son up at the auto repair where he left his car. We were driving along the river road and all of a sudden a deer jumped right in front of me. Poor Daisy went to the floor as I slammed on my brakes. We live in a very urban area - never expected to see a deer in my neighborhood! I'm also glad that you can relax a bit now with only Beau and Lopez. Lately when I take Daisy out in the mornings she looks at me like - did I say I had to go??? There's no arguing with her these days! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from yu Kathy-- Awful about the Deer eh?--Glad yu didn't hit it--- I usually have to take Lopez out twice, early in the morning--He never completes it all in one outing--crazy little guy Lynda--
DeleteI'm so sorry your son and family had the accident. I know they must be upset about the baby and the vehicle doesn't help either but glad all is ok and they made it home.I hope you enjoy your hair day and a couple less dogs. lol I know they are good dogs and you don't mind but it can get tiring. My little one is big ball of energy but good when he sleeps. lol Actually, he is training quite well and that makes me happy as I have been confined to training him for almost a month now. I do get very tired as the older one is 7 and she and I were great at doing our own thing. It's 77 here in Ohio. It looks very nice. I so need to get out. I do go to the dentist Monday to get my temporary crown on and the real one on. It is supposed to be rainy. I have one more set of metal to get out and will be all done. I dread it, as I left it until last because it has a lot of metal! The drill last time felt like jack hammering. Drove me nuts! Has your daughter mentioned if she thinks this new variant is a concern for worry here in Ohio? I sure hope not! Celebrate less dogs with some ice cream today! lol
ReplyDeleteI understand how yu feel--an older dog is all trained--understands--then we get this new little one (We must be crazy eh?)-and the new dog knows nothing-I hope you do well with that last tooth--It will look so good when everything is white--worth the pain--LyndA
DeleteWhat an awful experience for your son and family! They will remember it for a long time. We had a mother moose and baby in the road, years ago when we went to Yellowstone Park. Did not hit them, but they kept running next to us. Glad you are getting your hair done, you are lucky to do it. Take care.
ReplyDeleteso happy the son and family are OK--THey still look tired!--LyndA
DeleteSo glad your son and family made it home ok. A moose has got to be the worst thing to hit - they are sooo big. At least the baby was smaller and may have survived since it ran away. Better to avoid nighttime travel up there as that is so possible. Fortunately they missed the mom or you could be missing some family members today! And after they seemed to havve just missed the forest fires in Hawaii- what a scary week for them. I'm sure the bill to fix the SUV will be big. And I'm sure the pups were real happy to see them. Hope you had a good trip to get your hair done. Have a good evening. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteBrenda--getting out and having the new hair is wonderful--I feel sorry for son#3 -- They shudda stayed in Toronto for the nite--Lynda
DeleteOh my goodness. Thank God son and family are safe. Cars can be fixed. I'm glad he didn't hit momma Moose but I feel sad for the baby. Im glad the 124 dogs went home.
ReplyDeleteSounds like himself stopped making the bed. I was hoping the adult care would be up and running when you go to hair appointments so you could take more time for yourself. I'm hoping arrangements will work out soon after you have time for your drop in visits to the center.
Play your piano.
Relax
Hugs
no adult day care-- i should enrol for me--leave himself at home--LOL_- Yes son#3 is ok--but shocked looking-- looks tired too-Lynda
DeleteAha! Himself didn't accomplish his new job of bed making. You probably knew it wouldn't be all the time.
ReplyDeleteHope the baby moose is ok. Poor mama probably went after him. Must have been super scary for the people in the car!
Don't work Sadie too hard. Remember the relaxing part and letting go...
Went to the Cassino today (Mystic Lake). My friend won at bingo twice. I did not win, but got a card for $10 slots free for my birthday. I played one with Buddha on it. He failed me, too.
Had fun though, a good lunch and great time with my friend.
Lucky is throwing up. Better get to it.
{{{HUGS}}}
Now, who is Lucky??-- Why is he/she throwing up?-- And no, Himself 's bed making ios kinda "hit and miss"-- oh well--Sounds like you had fun at the bingo----or the casino--lynda
DeleteHave a great weekend Lynda.
