a tad late here--- Himself is at his Day Program--I dropped him, and then went to the Deli to get some fresh roast beef for lunch-He likes that with fresh bread, which I will pick up when I go to pick him up--
As soon as I got home, I took both dogs out AGAIN-----You can see that there is never enough time , in the mornings when Himself is at the lodge-It is a mad rush--
This morning, slicing a banana, I sliced my finger-- -Lord love a duck!---Silly thing to do--So I am operating with 9 fingers now--
Son#2 , the Air Canada Pilot flew out to Calgary last night--left Toronto--balmy Toronto--and found a mess of snow in Calgary---He was there all night, but heads on to Vancouver to-day-
-- I must carry on --before I know it, it will be time to go get the man----"Tempus Fugit"---- "Time flies " in Latin---- Did any of you study Latin in High School?-- Amo Amos Amot --- LOL---- I used to like Latin--
----or--when my sister emails me-- my little sister--- I love her to the moon and back--Remember to not take any "guff" from anyone---- remember how special that "you" are ---
Happy Friday to you, Lynda! Hope it turns into a fine day and you get "enough" done to feel that sense of accomplishment without wearing yourself to a frazzle. I totally resonate about being upset by the news... it just makes the pit of my stomach sink. So lately I've been burying myself in schmaltzy Christmas movies. Fell asleep last night to A Biltmore Christmas, which has a couple of Star Trek TNG actors in it... which I was tipped off to by some FB group post! LOL! The things we do to maintain an even strain in these trying times!

Yes--Xmas movies so much better than that war going on--I must change what I watch-- It was a good day here-- busy--but all good-Lynda
DeleteOH yes, sounds like Lopez is like my kids – neither would willing do anything til they were ready to! OY
ReplyDeleteFor sure, when I let things stress me, I pay the price. So, I ask myself “is it worth stressing about? Is stressing going to change it?” Usually the answer is NO to those 2 questions. I have learned that I cannot watch a lot of news. It DOES make me stress and that’s not good.
I remember growing up sometimes my parents would have the news on. This was during the days of the VietNam war. Soooooo horrible. And now we have the war in the Ukraine and the Israeli/Hamas war. My prayers for EVERYONE on both sides of these conflicts. Sometimes I wonder if we had more women leaders if there’d be fewer conflicts.
I'm w/Barb/OKM . . . I am choosing to watch Christmas movies -- anything uplifting!
Hugs and peace

Hope you got out for your hair do yesterday! You need that.

DeleteIt's Kathy. Yes, we have to take one day at a time and consider it a success if we make it to the end of the day. I love evenings. I get into my pj's, put the heating pad on my chair (back still bothering me - but also it feels cold in the house) and read a book or watch some silly Hallmark movie! Just time to relax and if things don't get done, well they just don't. I'm not putting up any decorations this year. My husband is the original Grinch at Christmas time and I understand after spending many Christmases with his family! So if I want the tree and decorations up I have to do it myself - and it's just too much work these days. No one will even be here to enjoy it but me! So what I'm saying to you, dear Lynda, is that it's okay if everything doesn't get done! Do what you enjoy and let the rest be. We've earned it at our ages!!! Wishing you a very good day - hoping that himself comes home from daycare in a really great mood! Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteAnd I celebrate on the days when my comments to you actually post!!!
DeleteHimself really seemed to enjoy his time at the Lodge-- me too!--And I sat at the piano and played---- On the whole, it was a very good day--Son#2 is en route from Vancouver to Toronto--will fly most of night-- Lynda
DeleteNow, on my own with Lucky, I rarely stress. With the Law of Attraction, I have learned to trust..."things always work out for me." It's true. Following my intuitional guidance, sometimes an answer comes to me almost before I have even figured out the question I want an answer to. Hope that's not confusing.
ReplyDeleteOh, I am not saying that I do not have stressful times...things work out, but it can seem it's taking a long time.
Happy Himself is getting to daycare. He enjoys it, and it gives you a little 'time out' to do something else.
Yesterday was very busy as will be tomorrow. Today I'm trying to be stress free. Got my leather protectant, so I must figure out how to protect my new coat before the weather here gets ferocious.
May even get a nap in...or during the time I would...start completing holiday cards.
I haven't found my little tree to put up. I used to do a week or so before Christmas to the day after New Year's.
It's always interesting to read what your kids are up to.
Hope the rest of your day proceeds well for all five of you. {{{HUGS}}}
Things do always work out--I really do know that--Son#2 , the Pilot. is now en route from Vancouver to Toronto--- And, by the way, yer new coat must be lovely!--- Hugs--- rained here all day--- Lynda
DeleteHad to laugh about the Latin. I had 2 years in H.S. and all I can remember is the Amo, Amas, Amat, etc. You know, that really doesn't do me much good! Except, I took one semester of Spanish at the college about 25 years ago and the word endings rang a bell with me. But, again, no use now. Oh well, not all knowledge is usefull. I haven't watched the news for about 5 years and really don't miss it. I got so tired of the polilticians and the lies they would tell that I feel that ignorance is bliss. Enough is Enough. D.
ReplyDeleteYu are the 2nd person who does not watch the news--I must try that--- but --I'd probably worry that I'd miss something--See?---- I am justa worry wart--Lynda
DeleteHad to laugh, the posting about stress is so you (and me). Poor Lopez, sounds like he kind of stresses til he realizes te situation. Latin, had to take it for a year or so and i hated it. Never saw any value in it. Hope himself did ok at daycare! Fearlessness is a muscle I need to use more instead of stressing. Have a good evening. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteYes Ive always been a worrier--and Himself did enjoy his Day Program--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda! Hope you had a great day! The pilot pic is neat. I love that he shares his places with you/us. Lopez is SO cute! I just love him. My yorkies are a little sick right now with bathroom issues. I hope they feel better soon or off to the vet we go. They haven't felt well since going to the groomer. I will get my trees up this coming up week. So much to do this coming week and then my nephew will be here on the 20th. We make it happen somehow! I have a list, redone the list and now trying to get it done! lol So easy to stress and I do just that! I hope Himself enjoyed his outing and has been in a good mood. Sunny all day in Ohio but rainy tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted. Enjoy your evening!
ReplyDeleteWe had rain here all day-- I hope your pooches get better Lynda--
DeleteThank you, Lynda!
DeleteHi Lynda, glad you got himself to day program although its extra work for you.
ReplyDeleteThe stress insert...well getting worked up changes nothing. There are few things I can change or control. All I can control is my reaction to things.
I dont watch the news aside from weather. Haven't watched it for years. You might want to turn off the TV and read a book or play your piano. I do watch mindless TV lol. That doesn't cause me any stress.
I liked the fearless insert.
Lopez is such a stinker.
Sorry about your thumb. Hate when that happens.
Tree gets up when it gets up OR put up a smaller tree. These days, I put up a 4ft pre decorated, pre lit tree that folds down into a wreath size box. You assemble the stand and pull it up DONE. I smooth out the ribbon garland as that's all there is to do. When its time to take tree down you fold it down and back in box
Hope your day went well.
Hugs
Your tree sounds like my kind of tree--I thought about our half a tree good, buts yers sounds easier--and yes, I must turn off that news-Lynda
