Be Kind... but with spine.

7-30am---  DARK! ---- -The temp. is around zero-- with rain falling--  this evening--SNOW! ---It is  "Day Program" at Himself's Lodge---which means I have to get up even earlier  to get the animals fed, the wash in before 7am--the bed made--the animals out--then back in--the dishwasher emptied--The list is endless--

I see that Son#2, the Pilot is still en route-- It says 2 more hrs , before he arrives at the airport in Sao Palo, Brazil----always I'm happy when he has landed--

Son#3 was out yesterday-clipped his 2 dogs nails--and then our 2 dogs nails--so nice of him! He brought a box of Donuts and a box of muffins--AND --of course I ate a creamy donut----  Lord love a Duck! My poor heart!--Now it is going to have  to chug away even harder---- and this morning--the ol' scales are UP---(Why am I not surprised!)-- I just have to smell sweet stuff and up those scales go-- Maybe taking them to Himself's Day Program  might be a good idea!

You know, it is still dark here outside--- VERY DARK--at 10 to 8 -AM--  The dogs have not been out yet---in case of animals--
We can choose "JOY"--"-Positive thoughts"--"Kindness"---"Smiles" for people you meet to-day---Make to-day special in some way--It is our day to enjoy--"WE "are a part of to-day----Sometimes life --our days--are so busy, we do not see  other people who are alone--a smile --or a cheery hello might make their day also--
-I saw something interesting--wondered if the  below, is set up in your  area--  If you cannot speak, and you need help--- AND--if you have your phone with you, there is a number one can call for help--how will I ever remember this?----dial-- 999----- when they answer press 55-Maybe you might even meet our policeman SON-----LOL

OK--- Daughter just called--  We were laughing about getting that tree up---  Imust get offa here--I love you all--Be careful--  and enjoy this day--

Playing the piano sounds wonderful! I used to play the organ. My pup used to sit and hang out with me as well. Our dogs are the best!
Watching what you eat this time of the year is terrible! Cookies everywhere! I don’t bake but my friends are master bakers and I enjoy every morsel!
May your year be filled with fun and laughter! 81 years young!!!
Love and good wishes sent from Idaho. -Jacquie

Glad son #3 clipped the dogs’ nails! That is a job.

Glad you got to talk w/your DD. That helps, I am sure.

  4. It's Kathy. I hope all went okay getting himself to the Lodge. It's good that he looks forward to this and it gives you a little time to relax and take care of yourself. It's very cold here today with the wind just whipping around like crazy! Daisy has decided that if she goes outside she should get a treat - so she asks to go outside often. I hope we're done for awhile! Have a great day.

  5. Loved today's heading...be kind but with spina. Ya know Lynda, some people view kindness as weakness...as sad as that is.
Yep, eating junk will derail good efforts. Taking the stuff to lodgr is a great idea.
Always lots going on at your house. I made a big pot of chili at 4am. Yep, insomnia still hanging in.
Glad officer son trimmed all the doggies. Kind of him to bring treats. At least you see your boys and talk to them often. Thats great.
Enjoy your day. LOVE YOUR POSITIVE ATTITUDE. YOU MAKE MY DAY.
30F in St.Louis but the winds are 40mph. Freakin COLD.

  6. My goodness, Lynda, you really have a busy day today!
I know you are glad when your son has landed, when your policeman son is done with his shift, etc. Being a mommy never ends.
My daughter sent a cute post card photo of them today. Printed words say, "Look whose on the naughty list again this year." Then are photos of them looking like they are taped up with red and green tape to a wall. My son-in-law has green tape over his mouth. My grandson has his shoes taped up...and the dog? Stepping with his front paws up on a little step ladder just looking smug. He's not on the naughty list even when he tears apart every toy he gets?
Have most of the gifts wrapped. just need to do the larger sized ones now...about 5 of them. Will have to give them out here as there's no room to put them up from Lucky!
My friend with the bariatric walker is getting a talking watch from me. It has a big analog dial, too. I believe I will need help setting it for her.
My grandson is getting a light up, hovering soccer ball I saw on Amazon. Must remember the 4 AA batteries to go with it.
Himself will love his day program. They're probably doing something Christmasy.
Hope you get some leisure time today amid all your chores. I will be cuddling with Lucy soon. What would we ever do without the unconditional love of our pets? Maybe just fade away...

  7. You are one very busy lady! I seem to be getting a lot done today. I'm sure it is because my #3 son's family will be here in 2 more days! Company is a good motivator for me! Almost done wrapping Christmas gifts too - just waiting on a couple of things to arrive today and tomorrow! So nice of your son to cut your dogs' nails! I cut both my cat's nails....vet showed me how when they were tiny kittens and now I do it once a month (if I remember)! They are very calm about it. Time to go get sheets out of dryer and onto the beds upstairs! Hope you find some "down time" to rest, read, and play the piano today!

  8. Of course our phone setup is quite different down in the States. Isn't your 999 our 911? We now have an 888 for suicide help. But I really like the concept for a code where you can indicate you can't talk!

What a kindness of your son #3 to clip the dogs' nails. That's a job and a half! And I understand you always feeling better when son #2 reports in his safe arrival, wherever in the world he's flying. That's motherhood!

I'm trying to breathe for a couple of days after the busyness of the past week or so. And there is more to come with family holidays... so trying to store up energy.

Hope your week ahead is a good one!

  9. Hi Lynda: I like the good friends mime. I haven't heard of the new 999 number and why would you have to enter 2 more numbers after they answer - which would be difficult if you can't talk for whatever reason? Nice that your son came to help out with the dogs. You are certainly a busy lady. Doing all that first thing in the morning. Good to take the sweet treats to the lodge. Have a good night. Brenda

  10. Hi Lynda! I hope your trip out went well. It has been snowing and windy here in Ohio. My nephew 6 hours away was on a 3 hour early dismissal today. Hope he can make it here on Wednesday. It's so good you can track your pilot son and know he has landed. I bet the fur babies feel better with clipped nails. It seems they grow so fast. I have to let the vet do that. So nice of your son to bring the donuts and muffins. I guess. lol So good with coffee but I know that does not help your mission right now. I gain anything I look at, too. Geez! I have not heard of the 999 help number here in the US. It is a great thing I would say. Enjoy your evening.

  11. How wonderful to have the dogs nails cut, important stuff. Hope Himself had a good time. Who taught you to punish yourself so often? You don’t deserve it at all. Life is short, enjoy something good every day.
