It's a "does not play well with others" kinda day-

-I really didn't sleep in--well--maybe an extra hour--I usually get up at 5am-- to-day,  it was 6am--I began to get up earlier than I ever did in my life, when Himself  retired and became 95 yrs young--- and wasn't a happy camper--You see, he enjoyed being a Doctor--absolutely was proud to help people stay well--and helping them get well-----and--well, you all know the story-- He is now 95 yrs young---He retired at 91 yrs-----so, the both of us have had to accept and deal with retirement, plus  an older age--  I call it "Old Timers" condition now for the both of us!---

I really am grateful to be the woman who can make his life as normal as possible--so he can live in his own home, here--and not in a long term care place yet--

I have no idea why I got onto all the above--I wanted to tell you why on earth I am so late posting--- -and--the reason is------ (Drum roll please)---  I MADE BANANA BREAD and the best part is--It turned out-- I made 2 loaves --Later on this afternoon-I shall take a loaf to Son#1 and his family --they both work hard  and probably never do much baking--plus --he is helping me with the driveway--so-- it's kinda "tit for tat"---- (Mom just put that expression in my head---She must be reading this--LOL--She was a beautiful soul for sure!)---

There is more good news--IT IS NOT SNOWING---  but--It is cold--The both dogs have been out-- with me-- I never put them out alone because of the wildlife which may be lurking  in the bush around here--

So, are you having a good day?----Are you happy?----Sunday is a good day to be happy----If you do not feel like doing whatever, you can always blame it on Sunday, a day of rest---stay home, and relax--forget about the world troubles--just sit on your stool and veg----and forget about about  the world around us--

---but-----remember you are braver than you really know, and smarter than you think, and, never forget  that you  are loved more than you realize--

HAPPY SUNDAY TO YOU ALL--- and--if you pop over and plough our driveway, I might make you some banana bread too!

  1. Happy Sunday, Lynda! It is our favorite day. Really foggy and light drizzle here in Ohio. I just made a banana cream pie. I do make banana bread, too. Sometimes, I make it chocolate bread with banana and chocolate chips. My husband prefers it that way. I am resting today but doing some things in between. My sister from Virginia may come next weekend for my birthday so I am getting a bit ready in case. I hope you get rest and enjoy your day. The sun is coming out. Yay!

  2. It's Kathy. Yes, I am taking this Sunday as a day of rest! It's cold and gloomy outside so little Daisy will have to miss her walk. I'm trying to plan my meals for the coming week - things have gotten a little challenging because I am now taking a late afternoon class at the gym on Monday's and Thursday's. So I have to think ahead or we'd be eating so late! I just found a wonderful hot dish I can put together and have my husband put in the oven! We're working more as a team these days! Finally - after 28 years! I'm sure it's difficult for himself to have retired - I lost my job at 59, couldn't find another one and didn't know what to do with myself for a long time! But not I'm happy to be able to be home all day if I want to! Good for you for making Banana Bread - I'm going to put together my overnight coffee cake today so we have something wonderful in the morning! Have a good day.

I was up all night, could not sleep, should have known what it was, I have a sinus infection, so slept in today.
If I can work up enough enthusiasm, I may have to go to the store
and get lunch meat, on the other hand, I have Cheerios....so we shall see how I do.
Have a wonderful Sunday Lynda and Fred. You are wonderfully patient with him.

  5. Loved all the inserts!
Wahoo that son will plow for bread lol. Nice trade off. I hate that you get out there and fight the snow. Hoping son will routinely show up with his Kubota and do the big stuff. Thats worth moms homemade bananna bread.
Its ok to have a day where you don't play well with others. I hope to never grow up lol.
Enjoy your evening. Play the piano.

  6. Lynda, reading your blog is just delightful!
Saved 2 memes. Loved the Maya quote. Had the Pooh one already.
It's almost a 10 hour drive, but I would come help you with snow. I'd have to use your tools, though. Maybe your son could pick me up in his Dreamliner?
I am doing a do nothing Sunday just like you say! I had several things I wanted to accomplish today, but I said to myself, some religions believe that Sunday is a day of rest!
We didn't go to karaoke last night. Didn't realize there are 4 Saturdays this month. Our favorite deejays are doing the last 5!
    Hope your week goes as you'd like it to do. Mine too, and all of your followers. {{{HUGS}}}

Pretty quiet day. DD came for a visit (which translates to, Can I do laundry here, Mom?) LOL She did her laundry but we also had a good visit. It’s nice to have time w/your kids.

  9. All the baking some of you did made me wish I had done something today! After church and lunch I just vegetated for the rest of the time. Lots of reading, knitting, and thinking. I have someplace to go almost everyday this week so I wanted to rest up for it - at least that's my excuse. Lynda, you are doing great to keep Fred home with you despite the trials it causes. You are to be commended.

Have a great week coming up. Hope the snow stays away from all of you. D
