The good good pig-

Good morning-- It is cold outside--so far--no snow-- Himself was telling me that January the 10th, we will get 10 inches of the white stuff--I hope I have no plans for that day! ---  But---  I will worry about that --then--I guess-

Have you ever had a mixed up day?--like -it seems that I take one step forward and 20 steps back--I don't know whether I am coming or going---  Lopez was up twice in the night--out I was on the front lawn, in the dark, in my night gown--as he seemed to have "the runs"-I believe Himself fed him too much meat---- I tried to just pat him back to sleep, but that only worked for 2 minutes, and then the familiar  whining would begin again---until I knew I had to get up--Poor little fellow--It was not his fault really--

Himself was not Himself yesterday either-- You see, the Pharmacy had called me,  to say that she had my eye drops in and if I didn't want them., there were other people she would call--LATE IN THE AFTERNOON---so--- I loaded our car, WITH HIMSELF--even tho I know he does not do well late in the day--I picked up the drops, and nothing went well after that--according to Himself--and--I was  to blame----Life is tough some days isn't it?
but--- sometimes its best just to ignore everything---and carry on the best one can---and I did-

-and--everything turned out alright--------sorta---  LOL----but--- life goes on---so---the groceries will be purchased to-morrow-- and not to-day---  LOL---and-one more thing--- I am reading a cute book---Books carry one away---They transport you to another place---

This book is quite funny----I can understand why it is a "Best Seller"--written by an author with a great sense of humour who decided to bring a wee piglet home , and all the trials she had  , raising it--
--New Year's Eve--- --soon----like to-morrow night---  I guess I am spending it in our living room--so, until to-morrow--- more advice here, since we were talking about "PIGS"

  1. Lynda, glad yesterday with its stress is over for you and me both.
I bought the piggy book. I love all animals. I can read it on the PC or on my Kindle.
We are having a meal together in our Community Room tomorrow. Besides that, nothing is 'up' for me. I am sure I told you a week or more ago that I was to go to karaoke tonight. That has changed. I just have to find something easy to prepare to bring to the meal. My friend says, "it is optional, you know, to bring something. You have done it every other get together. You don't have to this time." I may consider that. We always have so much food at these things.
I am a bit better...slowly...every day and after the morning's Tylenol kicks in.
We have a 50% chance of snow this evening. My weather app doesn't say how much. I have everything I need for a few days, though, so I am not concerned. We have been so lucky with out weather. Either we will have an easy, gentle winter OR we will soon be hit hard and the winter will last til mid May. Whatcha think?
Himself needs to be careful with Lopez. He needs you, and you are so good to him. Poor baby.
    All for now. Sadie has to get to work soon in the kitchen. {{{HUGS}}}

    2. I've read about 3 chapters. She sounds like me...so comfortable around animals. I've never had her experiences in wild areas, though.
I found I have enough ingredients to bring a large bowl of salad with dressing.
      Bedtime for me! zzzz

  2. Hi Lynda! It's mild, cloudy and 38 in Ohio. I hope you get a nap today after being out with Lopez. Is he feeling better? I sure hope so! Sorry Himself was not so good yesterday. Hope he is doing better. Yes, tomorrow is New Year's Eve. I will make some appetizers in the evening. It will just be me, my husband and nephew along with the fur babies Tommy and Kloi. Just a simple evening to enjoy before the New Year and nephew leaving on Monday. I dread it but he must get back to school on Tuesday. I won't see him until Easter break. I will be sad but these yorkies will keep me busy. You know all about that! lol Have a super Saturday!

  3. I think you are really working hard to get along with Himself's mood swings and I really am impressed that you are learning to not take his cranky comments personally.
Hope you have an enjoyable holiday weekend and that 2024 brings you continued good health and patience. And maybe more time to enjoy life!

    1. Snowed here yesterday for about 90 minutes, was quite pretty, then it quit and went to rain again. Temperature is fluctuating I guess. We need snow badly for the ground moisture...our pasture is gone and been feeding hay for over a month..
Happy New Year and today is actually my mothers birthday.

    2. I am learning that he cannot go out in the late afternoon--He can be downright "mean"--and he doesn't remember being that way--no Day Program this week either and that has really affected him--Lynda

  4. It's Kathy. I love the quote about controlling how we react to things. That truly is the best - although probably the hardest - way to handle the things we can't control. My husband and I did some major shopping this morning. Now we're in for the rest of the day and I don't even have to cook dinner. We bought a large pizza yesterday and have enough over for tonight! I remember you mentioned milk in bottles and milkmen - my mom had a milkman when I was growing up. She had a little box by the back door that he would pick up the empty bottles and leave the new bottles. I still have it but I keep my gardening tools in it! We are expecting snow by this evening. I guess we can't avoid it forever. Have a wonderful day!

  5. hi Lynda: Hope himself is wrong about the snow. 10 inches is an awful lot.In Toronto we'd be in real trouble with that much. I know how you feel with taking Lopez out in the middle of the night. I've had to do that a few times for diarreaha as well. Last night I had to go out at 3:30 as my dog had tests and lots of drugs and finally had to go then. Will know better this Friday when the test is redone if she needs a liquid diet the rest of her life. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda

  6. Oh my goodness! Sy Montgomery wrote your book "The good good pig"... and she also wrote mine: "How to be a Good Creature: A memoir in 13 animals". Christopher Hogwood is in that one, too, which is pretty much a positive life story of the author, and how animals impacted her life. I'm sure you'd like it, too!

I know how much you love the creatures, and I read this book in just a couple of days. My daughter in law gave it to me for Christmas.

Hope you have a good New Year's Weekend, the not-Chinese one!
