Life is tough but so are you-

WE HAVE SUNSHINE--with no snow falling--green grass--- and mild temps--well-- mild for us, this time of year--like---maybe minus 2C---

Both Xmas trees are down---  Himself just took the outside one down, (that was inside the sunroom)---dismantled it , and put it in it's box for another year---I was cleaning out the can cupboard----checking dates , and getting rid of a lot of cans which were older then old---terrible job--- but someone had to do it--"ME"---

Son#2. the Pilot, is in Las Vegas--just sent a pic of the McDee's, as he calls it--Of course his flight was delayed getting there last night--  Christmas people flying I guess--

some very large hotels there--

Both boys (as in dogs)- have been out, and both did their business-a miracle for sure--

So, now we are waiting for this year to end, and a new year to begin--Did you make any NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS?-----  I am thinking about it--maybe, just to survive, might be a good one---
--perhaps to not eat ice cream??----(dunno if I can make that one work tho!)---
-- and--I guess to try to not get grouchy--which seems to happen here sometimes--
Have you thought about New Years yet??----
"Olive" as in, POPPY____seems to think that we can do it----keep the resolutions going----that we are strong ----Hmmmmm-

Now, what if we simply devoted this next year to "loving ourselves"- more---????---The year, 2024   is just around the corner--Is it really possible to pamper ourselves?----HMMmmm--It will not happen if we don't try--

Yesterday was  marvellous--  talking "girl talk" with the Hair Lady -felt so good!-----And I did get to the pet store--looking for a new cat tree  for Sushi --which I want to place where she can look downstairs, and Lopez will not be able to pester her-- haven't found it yet-

Where ever you are, I hope you make it your best day ever---Only you can decide how--and don't allow the bastards get you down-------(a little advice  here---well, yu never know eh--)-

  1. Hi Lynda. Loved you message and inserts today. Don't let the bastards get you down made me giggle.
Finally figured a way to post. Takes an extra step on this goofy new phone but hoping it works.
Las Vegas is a very interesting place. Very different.
Had to laugh at your old canned goods. Purging leads to all sorts of discoveries. Keep up the good work.
No, I don't make resolutions. I try to live in today and be kind. It's not easy, as you know, dealing with dementia in mate but most days are ok. They can't help it.
Enjoy today. Glad you got recharged at hairdresser yesterday. Play your piano.
    Hugs

    1. Totally agree with you....no resolutions here, just love others and be kind, as we never know what someone else is going thru behind that face....

  2. Resolutions, ah, yes! Traditional "I'll treat myself and my body better this next year..." promises. It seems odd to me, the flurry of activity that is the holidays comes rushing to a sudden HALT! And now it's about to open the door to 2024... a leap year!

For 2023 I set a modest goal to read 12 books, and I'm almost finished with the last of them... I think I'll make it!

My next week is kind of full, with more sister medicalizing taxi, and then in another week and a half my own collection of appointments will begin with the annual checkups.

Glad you got to see the hair lady... that's always a nice luxury thing, letting someone else "do" the hair!

Happy New Year to you and your whole family. (( hugs ))

    1. It is odd that we make all these decisions to do good things in the New Year--Yu are right--Next year is a LEAP YEAR--Lynda

  3. Glad you got those cans out, I did that because of looking for other stuff and happened to spot the dates! Out they went. Lucky the trees are gone now, so you don’t have to see them and worry. My tradition is never make resolutions, they are guaranteed to be broken…just add stress and then bring in the old „punish yourself“ mentally syndrome, which helps no one. Nice pictures your son sent from Vegas! Hope he has a safe trip back home.

  4. Hi Lynda, it's Kathy. I guess I missed yesterday - it was my birthday and the whole day was mixed up. I didn't get up until 9:30 am, my ex-husband came by at 10 to pick up Annie - Daisy's sister, my son's dog. The day just got more hectic from there with a visit from my daughter and her 2 little boys. I did read yesterday's blog just now - we don't have any snow either and finally, after about 8 cloudy days, we are seeing the sunshine! Love seeing the Los Vegas McDonald's! I also totally am on board with devoting 2024 to taking care of me! Have a lovely day!

  5. Lynda, you're funny! I remember Olive Oyl and Popeye!

The only resolution I have set since I discovered the Law of Attraction teachings is, Be Happy. And there are tricks to help you do that, of course. I've shared some with you.
You may have to look online to find Sushi's new tree. Amazon has lots!
Went in the car today for the first time since my fall. The driving isn't hard. The hard part is getting in and out of the car and the gas station to pay. I won't be doing that again for a while.
New Year's Eve we are having a party in our Community Room. We are invited to bring a dish to share, but I may not be able to find anything. I have added to the menu every other time.
I was going to go to karaoke after. That won't be for a while either.
I'm glad our weather is holding, aren't you?
We have good pets. Even if they do something we don't want them to do, they are just being themselves and following their instincts.
Check out my FB page for a post on how animals speak. It is fantastic.
    Your son knows...there must be a McD's everywhere. On the moon, even. {{{HUGS}}}

  6. Happy Friday, Lynda! Just a cloudy day in Ohio with some big snow flakes for about 5 minutes earlier and 36 degrees. The pilot loves to find McDonald's! lol That palm tree is lovely! I hope he had a wonderful birthday. He sure didn't get much time to enjoy it and back to flying! Yes, it is almost 2024. No resolutions yet. My nephew leaves Monday and I will get the trees down and the house back together. Then maybe wrap my mind around 2024. I hope we all have a lovely year with a little pampering. I know you enjoy your hair days and getting out and about. I hope it's not a long Winter and we all keep our sanity. lol A little ice cream does taste delicious! Enjoy your evening!

  7. New Years Eve, Eve…when I look back on this year ALL I think of is how incredibly busy.it was …we sold our house, redid another, moved.around 8 times while that was happening with all of our belongings in storage and literally nothing but our cars and some clothes… had Covid, fell and had a concussion and a bruised face and, had our rental car stolen when we were visiting Cincinnati in October…whew….what a year!! Yes, we are strong!! You are wayyyy ahead of me….all of our holiday decor is still up!

  8. Glad the trees are down for another year. And nice that DH was able to help. PHEW

Las Vegas . . . fun place to go, but wouldn’t want to live there. Great pictures.

Glad that the fur babies did their business! Yeah.

Olive Oyl is right . . . we can do it!

Yes! WE DO need to love ourselves more . . . be sure to pamper ourselves! Then we have more to give to others.

So glad you had fun w/your stylist. YOU DESERVE it.

Good luck finding a cat tree. Clara is looking for one for her 2 cats, too.

    Yup . . . I can identify w/Snoopy . . . . definitely naps rule! LOL

No resolutions. Don’t work for me. But will work on small goals.

hugs to you and Himself. Have a wonderful weekend.

  9. Hi Lynda: Love Vegas. Had relatives who actually retired there and it was great there. They have some really huge hotels. Spent the day at a specialty vet clinic. Very Expensive and seems like my little girl may have to eat only blender food for the rest of her life - depressing! Love this warmer weather but it's supposed to start getting colder tomorrow. Glad you got your trees down. Have a good night. Hugs Brenda
