And into the forest I go to gain my soul---

We all need to take time to think --and enjoy this day-- and--to-day is HAIR DAY---YEAHHHHHHH!

Right now, I look like the Lady above----------  You see, yesterday afternoon, Himself and I decided to go to town--at about 3-30pm-- NOT A GOOD IDEA! -

-You see, it begins to get dark here about 4pm--this time of year--After we had finished our errands, and I was heading north, out of town, a huge truck was just ahead of us, on a corner. and a double yellow line beside us--Himself  insisted I pass the huge truck--I did not---  We were on a corner , on a 2 lane highway---Himself became very angry-- but-- I "stuck to my guns"-(Mom used to say that)_---did not pass anything-- and followed the huge truck ahead of me-knowing there was a passing lane not too far ahead-----

Well-----That was the beginning of the end-- (Mom's expression )-----  Of course we made it home safely--thanks to me trying not to listen to  Himself, but--- the air was blue-In fact, I probably looked like the cat in this picture------

This morning , looking back over our terrible horrible evening, I have decided--Himself cannot go to town at the end of a day--Neither should either of us-- He gets very tired as the sun goes down--and I must remember his demands  at the end of a day, is not the real him--
You see, we are the people who enjoy life in the woods away from the hussel of city life--especially when one is 95---years young--Good thing there is always a new day---the world looks  shinier on that new day--
So, that is my story-- go to town in the morning----  always when one is fresh--doncha think?-----Live and Learn------ Life is better  in the early part of the day--

I must get the 2 boys out--(dogs)- and be in a good frame of mind to get to the hair Lady----  without the husband--Maybe I need more calm in my life-- Mom usrd to tell me--
"Patience is a virtue -possess it if you can--  It's often found in Women--But never in a man!"

Life is not always  easy is it--- but--- if we try, it always works out--

  1. Oh my. It is harder than hard when you’re driving NOT to listen to someone giving you directives. Glad you made it home safe and sound and glad today is a new day! PHEW.

Glad you have your hair day today. ME TOO! Hurray.

Your last meme says it all for me! Nature – there is nothing that heals our souls better!

What an adventure you had driving home. Yes, going out near or at dark is avoided by me. Sounds like it was anything but enjoyable.
HAIR DAY...time for your mental reset. Enjoy

  5. It's Kathy. I am so sorry that happened to you. You are the driver and only you should decide what to do while you are driving. I agree with you - going out later in the day is not much fun, especially in winter when it gets dark so early. I used to love going shopping in the evening but not anymore - I want to close my house up, light a candle, put on my pj's and just enjoy the evening. We had a Holiday Party to go to last Thursday and I really hated it! You are such a strong, brave woman. Yes, you need more calm in your life! I hope today is a better day and you feel refreshed after your hair is done - my mom loved her hair day!

  6. I totally agree with you about driving late in the day. Sunset is just after 430 here, too. I was to pick up a Walmart order at 4 yesterday. They brought it out at 530! I had to wear my yellow tinted night driving glasses to get home.
It is easier in the morning...after the body unstiffens and wakes up, that is.
Today is finishing wrapping, a friend coming over to help set the talking watch. garbage and recycles down and out. May go out for gas, too.
A friend said we're not going to have more than a dusting of snow until after the 1st. Hope it's true and for you, too.
I can see why Himself gets grumpier in the evenings...stress from the day, tiredness, frustration about his ideas not being accepted...We may all be grumpier under those conditions.
I know you will enjoy your hair appointment. I just keep mine short and do a comb over to cover the thinnest part. It will be time for a cut soon, though...my bangs are starting to go in my eyes.
Re abusing pets. Yes, it's terrible...but so is abusing anyone or anything.
    Better get busy or Sadie will get bored. {{{HUGS}}}

  7. One of the things about "driving while old-er" is that we each have to know our own limits. Good for you "sticking to your guns" because if anything bad happened, you would be devastated! The wheel is in your hands and you know best what you can and can't handle, including passing on a dark two-lane road. I sure wouldn't!

Hugs & have as good a TODAY as can be managed!

  8. I don't like to drive at night - trouble seeing where to turn if I need to do that. Oh well, nothing so important that I have to do it then anyway. I have been having problems doing stairs so I'm starting back to Physical Therapy. If I'd stay with the exercises, I'd be in a lot better shape but . . . Love the questions on the form I had to fill out like can you run 2 blocks. .Heck, I'm doing good to walk that & who runs anywhere. We shall see what they say or decide I should do. Gives me someone to talk to anyway.

  9. Good for you sticking to your guns when driving. I haven't driven at night for a few years now. It gets dark here early too. Thanks for not passing. That could have been deadly. Men always think they know better! Love your inserts. Hope all went well at the hairdressers. Have a good night. Brenda
