Always remember that "You Can"-

Good morning to people in the heat dome---  and everyone else----  We have sunshine -and lollipops--We are alive-----I have the AC on already--I hope that you always remember at you are a unique individual----  That is your power-----

Son #2 is still in Brazil---      AND--HE SENT FOOD PICTURES---Are you surprised?--LOL
I have no idea what is on each plate
He says they eat a lot of fruits----pineapple and papaya----

Himself goes to his day program this am---It has helped him a lot---just to see and talk to other people--and--last night, for Father's Day, we all gathered at Son#1's place for dinner---Socializing is so good for older folks---(which includes me too!) LOL---The boys helped him in as getting from our car to Son#1's house is a bit of a challenge as it's all on a hill, looking down over the lake---

Did you know how important affection is in our happiness in our lives? It is responsible for nine tenths of our happiness--Good thing we have so many pets  in our lives---'specially after our children leave home-

No matter what you have planned for to-day--Lord love a duck! Never forget-----

.   no more tears----  and "Why Me"-syndrome--just get out there and "DO IT!

  1. Playing catch up this morning! Kids from CA left to go back home Sat. evening. It was a great visit and lots of good times with my youngest son and his wife and my youngest grandson! He spent lots of time in the pool! Yesterday I mowed all 4+ acres - and it was hot, hot, hot! 97 degrees! It was kind of a sad day as without my hubby, Father's Day is bittersweet! He was such a great dad to my 4 kids! So keeping busy mowing was a good thing for me to do yesterday.....I listened to some podcasts on my noise cancelling headphones as I mowed! Just wondering - did you finish reading The Women? Did you like it? Headed out to an early yoga class this morning and then weed eating and will jump in pool to cool off! :-)

  2. Happy it sounds like you had a great day yesterday, Lynda, and will have today, too.
We only had yesterday afternoon for heat. Today it is only 15C. It started storming again last night, and is continuing today and tonight. Must be that La Nina thing (can't figure out how to get the tilde over the 'n'.)
Still, we deal with what Mother Nature gives us.
The food photos look great. Can almost distinguish what some of them are. I LOVE pineapple, and almost all fruits. I seem to eat more veggies in the winter, though. I am waiting now for local melons and strawberries!
Isn't this week the pets' vet appointment? I've been thinking to take a poo sample of Lucky's in. Since I put him on older kitty food, it has changed...formed but very soft.
Wonder what your followers will think of that comment? Maybe no one else will read it but you ;-)
Sadie has a bit of stuff to help me with, but not too much.
Got 2 more pair of denim crops and 2 new tee shirts yesterday...from a friend. I may have told you that myself and 2 friends here on the 3rd floor...well, no matter where we get them (Walmart, online, Goodwill, etc.) if we lose or gain weight, or can't take return them...we trade.
It's really a great plan! I have some on now from Blair. They are pull on and have 2 pockets each front and back!
I am glad you saw the link to the Fly Girls. If you get it, let me know what you think. My mom was first lieutenant in a division called the Civil Air Patrol...my dad, step-dad and ex-husband as well as myself (Women's Army Corps) were all military. None of the kids followed in our footsteps.
Sis, I saved the meme of that precious little girl with her equally precious little kitten.
Have a marvelous day. Hope you get done what you want to while Himself is at his program and a rest later on. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  3. Yes, we’re in the heat dome and have our a/c on, too. Tis summer. Hate to see what the energy bill will be! But . . . have to be comfortable.

Oh my! That food looks delicious!

How lovely that you and Himself were able to get together @ son #1’2 house for Father’s Day. Yes, socializing is so important!

YES! Having pets in the house is such a source of affection! They are a treasure!

Hugs and hope Himself does well @ the Lodge.

  4. It's a good day to be mentally sharp, here! The prep day is always the "fun" one, huh? Anyway, Ember will go be cared for elsewhere while I do what I need to do, I just have to remember "clear liquid only" until all is said and done!

I always enjoy your Son #2's food pictures, and what a blessing Himself's day program is for all of you!

  6. I think it must be hot everywhere now. Strange year for weather, for sure. Everything is so early - flowers and crops that it makes me wonder what it will be like in the fall. The blueberries and peaches are both ready in this area - We used to pick ourselves but now it is sure a lot easier to buy them already done. The blueberries especially they do a better job than I do! I figured out once that I saved about $5 per hour by picking and decided it wasn't worth it.

Have a relaxing evening and enjoy whatever book you are reading now. Dot

  7. I learned something really cool the other day that a friend shared. If you place your hand in the center of your chest and hold it there you will feel the same benefits as a hug. It really does work! It is so soothing. The study showed that people need loving touch every day! If there isn't anyone to give you a hug, do this as often as you need to to feel centered!

    1. It is hot here also...I don't like the high humidity at all...went out with Barbara this morning and trimmed a couple trees, andPaul cut one with a big dead limb on it, if it broke off might fall across the little bridge in our driveway.
#2 sure has a way with photography ....love the sunset.
      Have a good week.

  8. Hi Lynda, another great post. You are the best. Your inserts are always great. You already know I really like the slightly nauty ones lol. Thanks for sharing every day. I've followed you since Spark People and feel so blessed to know ...well you know what I mean...you and your family and fur babies. Thanks for being there.
I am so happy #1 invited you over for dinner on Fathers Day. Great.. So good to get out and socialize. Nice the boys got Fred in and out of #1s house.
Yep, HOT. the poor roofers are up top since 5:45 am. Poor guys. They normally work until 8 or 9 pm...no idea how they can keep the pace, especially in the heat.
Brazil food....looks good whatever it is. Has to be better than McDonalds.
    Who doesn't love fresh pineapple?
I'm thinking Fred's home after lodge and resting. I do hope your doing the same.
Give Sushi some extra loving from me.
Are your daughter and grandsons planning a drive up anytime soon?
Kind of being a slug this afternoon. Did house chores early. Did weights class at gym, dinner is made so I'm caught up for a bit.
    Stay cool.
Many big hugs coming to you.
    Blessings

  9. Hi Lynda: The food pictures are different: I can tell the tomato slice and what I think is pasta. That's all! Glad your son had a Fathers Day dinner. I guess himself was real pleased. Glad he want to daycare today. It's hot here today too and apparently will be all week. My kind of weather! Have a good night. Take care. Brenda

  11. It's Kathy caught up at last. Yes, as we get older we need socialization and it seems sometimes very hard. That has been the best part of this trip, visiting with the kids. Today, Monday, was our 29th anniversary and we spent it all day in the car! I love that you had a lovely Father's Day dinner at your son's and I'm happy to hear that the boys helped their dad into the house. I also love the food photos! Hopefully I'll be back sometime tomorrow.
