The three stages of life

I want to choose happiness and I hope that to-day I can---  so much going on,  here to-day -I have hired workmen to come and clear out the wood room --and the fruit cellar-----I must have at least 20 cans of old paint that must be disposed of properly also-- Over the years why on earth did we never get rid of all of this before now?--

Himself is at his Day Program--Thank goodness that he is , or he would be dragging all the junk back inside--

I had a message from my new Dr.--- My immediate thought was, "Oh no--  He probably found some problem with my blood work--so I called the clinic back and he had received my message that "please could I have more refills on my meds"--and he will do that--One refill doesn't hack it!

Son#2 , that Air Canada  Pilot, is back inToronto-from Brazil--long flight---He must be tired as I haven't heard from him to-day yet--

How are you to-day?-Are you feeling good about all the chores ahead of you ?---Do you ever feel like "running away" might be a good alternative?-- It never is, you know--- but it does cross my mind sometimes. ---Perhaps a bit of craziness might help the attitude--Maybe we all could  go a tad crazy together---( I bet you now are wondering if I have flipped my lid!--LOL)
-So--- I see the relics in the basement,"WOOD ROOM" are being dragged out and into these guys truck-- Funny how one keeps all this stuff until  its almost "Doomsday"--The boxes and boxes of Photo albums are going to be dropped at the kids houses---(unbeknownst to them)-

The above must be me---in that 3rd stage of life-
Lord love a Duck--
"Keep your Chin up"--as Dad always told me--- and---  HAVA GOOD DAY and--- don't accumulate-any more stuff--

  2. Good morning, Lynda! You sound busy already! I call it MANIC Monday because my husband is off on Mondays so that is our/yorkies appointments, groceries, all the crazy stuff day! Those three stages are about right. I am always looking around wondering what I can get rid of. Take it easy today. You will feel better when it’s done. Glad you got more refills. Convenience is what we need. Hugs!

  3. It's Kathy. Good for you for getting some things cleaned out. And doing it without himself I'm sure makes it easier. My husband is a keeper of things. I keep saying "we need to get rid of things" and often I just find it in the garage rather than going in the garbage! Very frustrating. He keeps old, broken things in case he needs the parts - like he's ever tried to fix anything with old parts. Hasn't happened in 29 years, so probably not happening any time soon. But I have a whole lot of things to clear out myself and today I'm starting. Tom is teaching all day so I have the house to myself and it feels pretty good! I'm also choosing to be happy today! Oh, and no, I never did get a nap yesterday but I started a new book and read for about an hour! And we got so much rain, starting right about supper time. Two more days of rain on and off! It's so wet outside.

  4. Lynda, accumulating stuff is what we do, but I'm gradually getting rid of lots, too. Figure I'm almost 78 with (supposedly) 'conditions.' One of these days, my daughter will be left with it all. I want to make it easier for her.
We had a huge lightening storm last night. There was a fire...one of our electric sub-stations was hit by the lightening. Our elevator is out because of that. I am facing lugging my garbage and recyclables down 3 flights of stairs if the elevator man doesn't get here quickly.
Other than that, my day is going fine.
Have to take my wheeless friend to the chiropractor. I'll do my errand then, too.
Himself should be tired and happy after his program, right? So after your busy morning, maybe you can get some rest.
I am sure you'll hear from your son soon.
Saved a couple memes today!{{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

  5. Sometimes we reach the point in life where all those things we thought we might need "some day when I get around to project X"... well, we realize that we won't get around to project X, and they simply must go!

I'm investing in making my place more livable for Ember and me, you are working on the same for you, Fred, Sushi and Lopez. We can be in paralysis of decisions for years before the point is reached, but reached it is!

Here's wishing you a good Monday and a good week ahead!

  6. Hi Lynda, great inserts and great message today.
Glad you are getting serious about getting rid of useless junk. I'm in the minority, it sounds, but I don't keep stuff I'm not using. I purge, cabinets and closets at least once a year. Always find items to donate. I like my space simple and uncluttered with :stuff". No collections of knick knacks etc. Makes my life and cleaning so much easier.
Hoping Fred returns in a good mood that lasts.
Oh YES, sometimes I do want to run away bit can't figure out where I'd go plus himself is totally dependent on me. Is what it is. We all have trials and tribulations and many people have it so much worse than i do. I'm blessed and grateful.
    Glad pilot is safely home.
I giggled about all the photos going to the kids home. Way to go Lynda.
    Hot in St.Louis...rain later
I'm still waking up early. 4am, and can't go back to sleep. I do get house chores done and make lists of things I need to or things to pick up at store.
    Hope your resting now.
    Hugs

    2. Yep! I am definitely in Stage 3 of my life! Wishing I could get rid of all the stuff - I am trying, but I am a "saver" - always thinking I might need that some day - so it is hard for me to let go of some things.....like how many skillets do I need? Maybe one or two, but I think I have 5 or 6! And I have tons of pictures of my 4 kids too! I keep thinking I will sort through them and give them to the kids - but I just never seem to find the energy to sort them! Hot day here in Illinois - one of the grandkids brought a couple of friends over and they had a good time in the pool. I opened the pool May 16th and this is the first day that anyone has been in it! It will get used a lot in a couple of days when my son and family from CA are here for 10 days! I have been busy preparing for company and doing lots of yard work! And sure do sleep well at night as I usually fall asleep in my chair after I sit down for a few minutes! hahaha! I wake up and stumble off to bed!

    3. Oh you are so wise to have hired that decluttering to get things OUT OF THE HOUSE. Good job.

And what a great idea to have it done while Himself is @ the Lodge. Brilliant. He won’t even know what you’ve done! My Himself would be bringing things back into the house, too. OY.

Glad that the phone call from the Dr. was in re: your rx refill. PHEW.

Happy that son #2 made it back from Brazil. Good job.

Oh my . . . . some days it DOES look like a good alternative to r un away. But, never works out that way. LOL I’ll join you in crazy! The best friends are the ones who go crazy with you!

And definitely good idea to drop the photo albums off @ the kids’ houses!

      HUGS and blessings
