Somewhere over the Rainbow--

Somewhere--- sometime.  over the Rainbow, our dreams really will come true--What are your dreams?---Mine are that one day my grown children will wonder how their Mother is doing all she is doing?--maybe even tell me that--It seems like a lot to ask  doesn't it?---I look back at my Mom--who was legally blind and trying to cook --trying to read her recipes--  I saw all this going on when she moved to town here, but, I didn't volunteer to give her a hand.--Why?? And when my Dad asked how to get to the Eye DR in Sudbury--a long way from here, I just told him where to turn off the highway--Why on earth didn't I drive him there myself?--It never crossed my mind. And now, I am "older than old"--and I wonder why my grown children are like I used to be---. They are busy and just never think of it----Crazy!

And so we  try  to be strong ----stronger than we ever knew we could be-- and that's OK---Yesterday I picked up my Cell phone #12--took it to a cell store who laid it beside the #8 I used to have, and everything magically transferred from the #8 to the #12--and the #12 really is crisp and amazing--I paired it up in the car also--  but---  most of yesterday was getting used to all the new features--I called Son#2 who had set up the cameras on the house, and he helped me move  them to operate with the new phone-(-after 12,052 tries)--but-eventually I did type in all the right symbols etc--Lord love a Duck--technology to-day is amazing --and it makes one feel good when it all works-

Our Hummingbirds are STILL here--This morning I filled their 4 feeders and Hopefully this might be the last time for this year----and wee Lopez  walked AND did his business but found it cold--The temperature has dropped significantly this morning--kinda nice-

I hope that your day is going well--REMIND YOURSELF__

  1. Yes, the nice thing about getting the same phone, just the newer version, is the ease of adjusting!

The cooler weather sounds delicious to me ... we are in the several weeks of 'monsoon' season here on my desert. Temperature highs in 90-105 range with higner than usual humidity. While our weather gradually cools down, it can still be pretty warm through the end of October.

    Happy Friday!

  3. Lynda, I remind myself the same for my kids. And I think of my grandma wanting me to give her time to go over newspaper cuttings, recipes, etc. she had saved for me. I told her I would later, I was busy now. There was no later for her. Sad
Honey, I do have a car. It works. Sometimes has acceleration problems, the undercarriage came off. It was zip tied up my my mechanic. I am just afraid driving over Minnesota snow, that the engine will give way and fall out on the ground.
I am still working on how to get another.
The softest thing in my world is laying on the desk by me. I am petting him (when I'm not typing) and it is SUCH a pleasure. I will post the photo I just took for you on Messenger.
Sadie is here chomping at the bit to help me with chores. (bills, vacuuming, bathroom, etc. and maybe laundry, too.
Glad you love your new phone. Tech is great...the kids are better with it cuz they grew up with it.
Sis, hope the rest of your day proves just as you want it to. {{{HUGS}}} Love, Maggie

    2. Me again Maggie-- Yu don't want the engine to fall out--Maggie---Lordy Be! --No chance to get another older vehicle?---So hard eh?--stuff breaking and trying to balance the bank books and keep living--so difficult and you do so well Maggie-----I can say a wee prayer--In fact I will, but realistically that is not going to help--Lordy Be!!! -----Lynda

  4. Hi Lynda, sounds like you skated through your phone change with very little help. Proud of you. Technology is great, when I can figure out what to do. You've done great!
I helped my mom all the time after my dad passed. She lived with us the last 5 years of her life. Would she have preferred her own home...absolutely but she was no longer safe alone. She was my blessing. I "guess" our kids figure we're doing all that needs done and we don't need help, not sure. I am glad for you that you have 3 sons nearby....just in case.
Sadie and I need to hit it. I walked 2 miles at park first so I'm way behind schedule.
Hoping your dreams do come true!
Have an amazing day. Stay healthy, strong, positive and loving.
Hugs and blessings to you, doc and fur kids.

  5. Well, good luck to you w/your new phone! DH is itching for a new phone, but . . . I’m not itching for the learning curve, so . . . will wait!

Good job, well Lopez! You make your Mom happy!

Miss Lilly had her physical and vaccinations. Her flu vaccine has made her sick, so she's on an anti-nausea med and a fever reducer. She's feeling a little better. Poor little one. She will not be getting it next year!

    Hang in there!

    1. Barb this "I-phone" was not difficult to set up-- The store laid the 2 phones side by side--everything went to the new phone--I just had to tweek it a bit at home and the 12 is very similar to the 8- If I can do it, it must be pretty easy__ Lynda

  7. Hi Lynda: I helped my mom with everything when she was alone because I knew my brother never would. Too bad your daughter didn't live closer! Glad you got your new phone all set up. I have to go to the Apple store now when I get a new one as I have no one else to help me. S I know how you feel about getting help. Supposed to be cooler this weekend which is not my preference! Have a good night. Brenda

  8. Hi Lynda! Hope you had a great day. It’s been rainy this evening in Ohio. I have a baby blue spruce to plant tomorrow so that will make it easier. I’ve been resting with a muscle relaxer today. Tight shoulders with my tinnitus and a headache. Guess we can’t feel well all the time. Hugs to you and yours!

    2. Lynda, I know what you mean about the kids, but I had to laugh, my son treats me like I'm still the strong Mom he had, except the other day we went out to eat and he held out his hand to help me down a double step down...he is thoughtful...and I think in some ways daughter is, because she knows my skin tears so easily, so she tries to limit me helping outside sometimes. I sold my lawnmower, because the grand-dog would not quit barking at my tires even when going down a hill...I guess my other 2 don't think as much, one is in Maryland, the other Massachusetts..
Have a great weekend and good going on the phone. I hate
      changing phones or doing updates...lol
