Yes, I am learning to speak up-- I am learning that 2-3 errands in one outing is about all I can do in a day--(I read all yer comments yesterday, and it seems we are all the same)---So, I WILL just tell Himself that, and when he announces that I must go to another place, after being in 653 stores already, I HAVE TO SPEAK UP--He will have to listen to me as I am the driver! -
We just returned home from getting our flu shots--It was a Walk-in clinic----I am relieved that we got it--have had 5 Covid shots-----Hopefully that shot to-day will keep the Flu away--There were 3 babies there--so cute--- all dressed in winter wear--hats and boots--They were happy till the DR gave each one their needle--then the crying began--I wanted to squeeze them!
Yesterday when I left Himself here with Lopez and Beau, so I could get my hair done, Himself said that Lopez sat at the top of the stairs to the garage and just waited for me-- so cute! He absolutely loves me-- (but would still bite me--)----- These wee Chihuahuas are certainly a very different breed of dog--
We have sunshine with Lollipops outside (a song !)_Himself is good -so far---- and it seems like a good day to have a good day-
I cannot ever be weak--- crying will not help---I can feel my Mom and Dad telling me this-- Do yu ever feel your ancestors speaking in yer head?--Sometimes I wonder if I am "losing it"--- but-- then I hear Mom telling me, (as she always did)-to "Stand on your own 2 feet"-- Lord love a Duck!
Good day, Lynda. Glad you're all set with the flu shots. I hope they won't give you much of a reaction. Awww, how adorable Lopez waiting for you. Have a pretty Friday.
ReplyDeleteHi Patricia--No--No reaction to that flu shot---- Have yu had a flu shot?-Lynda
DeleteNot only do I hear mom and grandma and great-grandma in my head... they tend to leak out of my mouth at times, too. Which is one of the reasons I love your blogs, Lynda! Your mom talks through you, too.
ReplyDeleteAs for Lopez being willing to bite even those he loves, that's a really nice way to look at it. My kitties do not hesitate to use tooth and claw if they don't like what I'm imposing on them, either (like squirting Rubia's prescribed meds into her throat!) So care is required.
so good to hear that yu listen to your relatives--Your comments have made my day-Lynda
DeleteI hear my Dad telling me things, and he was always right.
ReplyDeleteWow--- I love that yu hear yer Dad-- Thank yu for telling ,me that-Lynda
DeleteAMEN, Lynda. You are the driver, you are in control, as much as Himself may not like it. YOU have to take care of yourself, or who will take care of Him!!!??
ReplyDeleteHappy you got the flu shot. It is rampant here and the season is just beginning!
Yeah for sunshine! We have some too, but it is cold.
OH I definitely hear my Mom and Dad and paternal Grandmother EVERY DAY! They are so wise! I will tell you, though, it is OK to cry when you need to! No it won’t solve the situation, but it will help you feel more calm. So . . . allow yourself to cry when you need to. You are entitled.
Hope it’s a peaceful weekend and may that little Lopez continue to love you but not BITE!

Glad you got your flu vaccines. They do say it's really bad this year and the hospitals are full too. Sounds like Lopez is settling into himself! That's good if you are limiting the stops - as we get older it gets harder to make too many stops and get in and out of the car each time.
ReplyDeleteLopez has cone long way-- Lynda
DeleteWishing you a peaceful night. Yes, I hear my husband’s words of advice and so forth, and my son hear his advice in their heads, too. It is normal for sure. Take care, keep listening.
ReplyDeleteso good to hear that we hear our ancestors- Lynda
DeleteLynda, if Lopez would bite you, it would probably be food aggression or you moving him about in a way that is uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteHappy Himself is ok so far today. Maybe it will last the weekend! Let's hope.
I know what you mean about speaking up for yourself. It's hard for me to say, "No," too.
Do I hear my ancestors? Oh yes! It's either them, a guardian angel or my own inner guide (same thing, maybe). My mom, especially. Sometimes I form a question and immediately the answer is given to me. I would say I hear 'speaking.' It's more the answer pops. A knowing, kinda.
Cold here! 17F today. Some sun came out this afternoon. We saw the beautiful blue sky! My mom used to say that blue and green don't go together. Mother Nature sure disagrees!
Let's do our best to think positively, trust that all will continue to do well and be happy.
Prayers, light and love going up for your brother. {{{HUGS}}}
Forgot to put my name in! The above comment is ME.
DeleteYer comments are so precious-- so, yu hear yer ancestors too -- so neat!--Lynda
DeleteI hope that your day was peaceful and calm…you deserve it!!
ReplyDeleteI think it’s wonderful that your Mom and Dad gave you such useful advice that you can still rely on! ❤️ Eissa7
Well, I hear her words so often-- LOL-- lynda
DeleteWhen I leave the house my Daisy is always mad at me and goes into her kennel. She won't even let me pet her to say goodbye. But she then moves to the back door and hears when the garage goes up. She is waiting for me with a lot of love and kisses! Dogs can be so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute-She waits for yu-Lynda
DeleteHope your day was peaceful.
ReplyDeleteYes, I often hear my moms words.
No affects from flu shot other than a bit of a sore arm. We have 5 covid shots plus flu shot and I wear a mask when out in public. Not much else I can do.
Take care of YOU.
Lopez is a character. Hes lucky to have y. Cry when you need to.
Hugs
oh Margene--same here --5 Covid shots and now a flu shot-- Nice yu hear yer Mom -- Lynda
DeleteGot my flu shot back at the end of September - was not sure if I wanted or needed 5th Covid booster.....but finally broke down and got it on Monday because I am flying to CA next week to be with son#3 and his family. His wife is a type I diabetic and high risk and I reasoned to myself that since I would be flying 4 hours with all kinds of germs on the flight, that I should do it to protect my sweet daughter in law. No side effects except for the sore spot on my arm!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think I hear my late husband's voice helping me get through a difficult situation. I don't hear my mom's voice, but I see myself doing and saying some of the things she said and did! They are with us in spirit!
