Sometimes you gotta be your own hero!

Good Morning!--  we have mild temperatures ---rain yesterday--and I hear it is going to be mild for the nest few days-The snow is even melting--

Lopez and I braced the Coyote threat, and hoofed it up the back road-- and bless this wee fella's heart, he did his business. Beau was out with me around the yard here just before that--  so, the day has begun and I hear it is "Black Friday"- which doesn't mean too much in Canada, but it seems to be a shopping day in the US.---

Yesterday was my one day to get out alone--meet the other women  getting the hair done--and of course the HAIR LADY, did a fabulous job--from this--

--to this-----

Well--not too different, but I feel SO much better--  just to talk to a few friends , there, having a new hair-do, too! It is amazing how much it lifts one's spirits-And I made a trip to the pet store as it was "Seniors Day" there. Do any of you try to  get to Seniors Day at the various stores?--  I try to as sometimes it does save quite a bit--

This morning I poured over the bank books, just to make sure everything balances, as the $$$ goes out . Doncha jess wish  we all had a million dollars?--again, after an outing, when I get back home, I am completely pooped!--

There are days that I must make up my mind to be happy--no matter what! ---after all, I am NOT having to fill those Hummingbird feeders --They are all gone---  nor am I buying as much sugar to fill them-- I am NOT cutting grass --nor weeding gardens--  and most of the snow here has melted--

Dec. 6th I have booked an oil change for the car. I tried to get it sooner, but they tell me there is a shortage of mechanics. Did you know that?--I never heard of that before. -----We do NOT have any hurricanes heading this way--nor major snow storms--so--Life should be good now for while---  SO_---WE CAN BE HAPPY--Even Himself is OK for now! -

Let your smile change the world! --- good advice!---I wish I could help those people in Ukraine--- but I suppose in a way, we are all helping them, with our very high cost of living right now--

It really is a GOOD DAY TO HAVE A GOOD DAY_

Sometimes you just gotta be your Own Hero--

  1. Wow! So nice that you got out by yourself for a bit and the hair dresser did a fabulous job!

**SIGH** Yes, always have to keep an eagle eye on the finances. It makes the heart go thumpity-thump sometimes.

Glad that Himself is good for today. Blessings!

I know . . . there are all kinds of shortages. **SIGH** Makes life interesting.

    1. Yes, I still look for some things that have not returned to the shelves! --- And yes, it really was good to get away from himself for a couple, hours-Lynda

  2. The budget thing did actually come up at Thanksgiving dinner as we discussed taking advantage of sales and coupons and how we, the older generation, had lived through some hard times before, and learned to budget. The sooner one learns this the better, right?

Anyway, I'm not out doing that Black Friday thing myself. But it is a thing. I think I've only done it once, as a "warm body" for my youngest sis who was picking up a bargain for a charity she participates in.

  3. I used to work for walmart, and that was enough Black Friday shopping for me...lol......after you have to work with the public it does alter your perception of fun shopping. I have never gone shopping on a Black Friday...prefer to stay home where it is safe....ha
The hair looks good Lynda, and yes, getting out to talk to others is very helpful and makes one feel better. You definitely are not the only one trying to work a workable budget.

  5. Your hair looks nice, enjoy the whole thing about getting your hair done. I still have not gone inside a grocery store to shop, still having Covid stuff going around in Texas, land of people running around infecting each other and not caring. So home I will stay, still getting grocery delivery. No Black Friday shopping going on, haven’t done that in decades, when they didn’t call it that, lol. Have a good day!

  7. Dear Lynda you look Fabulous! An outing, some talking with others and a new hairdo...its all good.
I dont do Black Friday shopping..
Nothing that can't wait for another day. I do prefer to see, touch and examine items so I'm not great on ordering on line as I'm usually disappointed and end up returning whatever. Yes. Stores are STILL out of things. Doubt certain items will ever return after this long.
Yes, shortage of mechanics just like many workers. Not sure where everyone went?
The budget...thats tough. I could really use that half a million
    ..really use it.
    Enjoy your day.

  8. Good evening, Lynda,
I love your haircut and it also looks like you have lost weight!
I am glad the weather there is giving you a break. We are having nice weather here in Michigan.
Be careful w/those coyote's, we have them in our back woods. I throw scraps of meat etc. in the back. Hubby has caught them visiting the pile. Mostly it is raccoons that show up.
Have a good evening, play that piano and relax.

  9. Your hair looks very nice. It's supposed to get much warmer tomorrow for one day only - then rain Sunday and starting to get cooler again. I went to the mall as I had to get something. It was not real busy. Probably the increase in the cost of everything has made Black Friday not as attractive or affordable. Watch those coyotes and never feed or you will have them forever. Enjoy the evening.

  10. When my children were younger I did go out a couple times on Black Friday but that was when things were a little bit saner. A few years ago I got a job at a Fabric store and had to work a 6 hour shift on Black Friday. It was the worst day EVER! Shortly after that I quit even though most of the time I liked the work. Now I am just at home. In fact, my family came over today for our Thanksgiving celebration! It's always fun to see them but also nice when they all go home!

  11. You do look lovely with your hair and great smile!
I had my haircut (free) on Veteran's Day as I am a veteran of the Womens Army Corps.
    Weather was great here, too.
    Happy the day was good for you. Me, too. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's worse. Then we just gotta remember the better! {{{HUGS}}}
