I have been tracking Son#2 the air Canada Pilot- en route from Denmark, back to Toronto---One site I usually find him on, could not find his 'plane-- (a bit upsetting-)-so, I went to Flight Aware , another site, and there he was--late leaving Copenhagen---He had sent some pictures of food, in the night--
This was breakfast from a buffet table--Below is a jar of Scandinavian Pickled Herring--he is taking that home I presume-It really feels like winter here , outside-- Little Lopez, the Chihuahua, born in Toronto, which is really in Southern Ontario, who now lives in Northern Ontario--where our winters are much much colder than where he comes from, is such a trouper--(I keep telling you all that!)- I put on his Parka, and the 2 of us hoofed it up the back road and it was so cold and windy-- His little toes must freeze!--- AND--he did his business--, bless his heart! The weekend just flies by-Do you find that also?-To-morrow will be a new week--already---one very good thing is that Himself seems good (for him)-He doesn't seem to like the cold too much--keeps turning up the heat, which I have to put down to a more livable temperature---next week, we hope to get our flu shots-Have all of you had them?--Did it cause any illness ?--Are you still wearing masks--I wear a mask-- when I shop ---- If you are flying anywhere , you might see this guy--This is Son#2 the Air Canada Pilot--with his daughter---I have a Birthday coming up in December--AND--- if you all can come, he will be your Pilot-will pick you up at your closest airport--- He might even give you food!-LOLIt's too quiet downstairs-- I must investigate what is going on-- To-morrow--is-Mooooooooooooooonday----- Lord love a Duck-- another week ---
At our house most days are all the same . . . I have to try and remember it is the weekend and stay home . . . the stores and everything is so busy here on the weekend when most people are off. Not cold here yet but it is supposed to start tonight. . . maybe a dusting of snow by Wednesday but then that will melt of again because the daytimes are supposed to be in the 40s. I would love to come for your birthday . . . as I recall it is on or near one of my sisters. Have Son #2 pick me up in Manchester NH. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI wrote it down--Manchester, NH --- It is the 16th of December--my Birthday--and I was born in '42 which should make me--Holy cow! --80 years-- How did I ever get that old?-- YU know, my brother , Wayne, lives in NH --so nice to hear from yu-Lynda-
DeleteWell, the salmon looks good, pickled herring – think that would be a HARD no. LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, cold here too. Had snow overnight and it stuck to the grass. Just a harbinger of things to come.
Gooooood job, Lopez! You made your Mom happy!
Good luck w/the flu shot. Had ours a little earlier. It did nothing but make me a tad tired. That was it
OHhhhhhhh, that time of year again! Yeah! Put me on Son #2’s list! Your granddaughter is beautiful!
It is -10C by you. That is 14F. It is 29F here currently, but was colder when I awoke.
ReplyDeleteThe fruit Son#2 sent looks great! Nature's candy. What is the other? Looks like salmon?
Very few people here wear masks. Healthcare places still require them.
I did get my flue shot. No side effects. A nurse when I got my Covid shot gave me a hint: she said if you move your arm around a lot the first few minutes after you get your shot, you will have hardly any soreness.
Do you put petroleum jelly on the pads of your dogs' feet before they go out in the cold? It helps protect them. By the time they are ready to come in, most of it has worn off so you don't need to worry about your floors.
Oh, yes the weekend goes fast. With the time change, though, the days seem so long. It has never taken me so long to get used to it...and it's the last time!
Oh, well, we deal, don't we? {{{HUGS}}}
Re oof da. I FOUND IT ONLINE. Here it is for your giggles: Why do Minnesotans say uff da?
ReplyDeleteUffda means everything and nothing in Minnesota and other parts of the Upper Midwest where it's a stereotypical expression. The phrase is used to express surprise, annoyance, relief, exhaustion, disappointment, astonishment, exasperation and dismay. People use the word when things are good and when things are bad, {{{HUGS}}}
Yep, got my flu shot some weeks ago. No ill effects from it. Wishing the same for you and Himself.
ReplyDeleteTime seems to fly for me no matter weekday or weekend. "Has it been a week already?" is a thought that traipses through my head, regularly.
Wishing you and your family well!
Good looking salmon, I would love that! No one else in the family would have it though. I enjoy kippered sharks from the can, but never tried any in white sauce. Would you enjoy that? Thanks for showing us the pictures! At least your son should be home now. Bundle up when you are out! Ethel merz
ReplyDeleteYes he is home--well--landed--and now driving home--says he iOS off now for a bit--has ground school next week----LyndA
DeleteIt must be fun to have a son who gets to travel all over the place and send home wonderful photos. I'm glad himself is doing better today. I haven't yet gotten a flu shot but I see my doctor in a couple of weeks and I imagine she will try and talk me into it. I usually don't get one because I don't go much in the winter but maybe this year... I am not wearing a mask anymore expect when I go to the doctor's office which has been a lot lately. I am now schedule for cataract surgery on 12/13 & 12/27. Not looking forward to it but may as well get it all done in 2022!!!
ReplyDeleteI had the Cataract surgery-- on both eyes-a month apart-and it was so amazing because the following day after the surgery everything was so bright and shiny-- Let me know how yu do--Lynda
DeleteLynda glad himself is havng a good day after a ruff one. sorry i am still sick with all these infections at the same time..........also sorry your brother asked you...he must be frightened....sad for you because I know you felt bad to say no.
ReplyDeleteYes I realize that my brother is frightened--Poor soul! But I know I cannot take care of anyone else-- SDad to get old eh?-Lynda
DeleteGot flu shot mid October along with Covid booster. No issues. I still wear mask in stores.
ReplyDeleteNorwegian food likely isn't my cup of tea.
Please have pilot son pick me up on Sr.Louis, MO for your party. Cant wait. Cant believe you'll be 80.
All days go too fast.
Hugs
Nice picture of Son #2 and his daughter. I went on a wait list at Rexall for my flu shot and got it a few weeks back. They also gave me the new covid vaccine at the same time as they had it too. And no reactions to either. I still wear my mask all the time. Hope himself continues to have a good day. Would love to come to your party. Have a good evening.
ReplyDeleteIt must be so nice and exciting to track you Pilot Son everywhere he goes, cool! Yummy food. His DD is gorgeous. Sweet Lopez. You are an Awesome Woman.
ReplyDeleteYes, my husband and I wear a mask everywhere!!! I rarely see anyone else but most counties in our state is going up, up and up and most are high transmission! I wish it was mandatory so it would get under control. Otherwise, it never will. I especially worry seeing elserly with no mask! I get so sad!
