Hi Lynda, it's Kathy. I understand the back and forth about selling/moving versus staying put. My husband and I go through that about every few months. Yet, I KNOW staying here is the right decision. Right now I'm trying to get him to help me clear out a lot of the excess things that we have. My husband is a keeper of things - even though he rarely needs/uses them anymore. But I'd like to clear away some space so if/when it becomes necessary to move, we don't have so much stuff! It does sound like quite a hassle to get ready to show the house, I don't think I'm up for that myself! One day at a time - I know you'll make the right decision for you and himself!
ReplyDeleteJust a suggestion. If you have decided to stay in the house, contact the realtor and take it off the market. You are wasting your time and theirs. Someone might actually decide to make an offer, and then what are you going to do? I agree with your decision to stay at this time. I don’t think either one of you really want to leave.:)
ReplyDeleteYes, we took it off--- good advice tho--Lynda
DeleteOH my goodness . . . a family certainly would be a better fit for your home. And getting NO FEEDBACK?? Wow, that agent is not on the ball. NOTHING is wrong with you. You are trying to make a HUGE decision and sometimes changing your mind is all apart of it.
ReplyDeleteHOPE that you get your bananas! Just got some yesterday.
HUGS and stay cool.

We took it opff the market--for now--LOLOL--- Lordy be!-- Lynda
DeleteThose are the worst Realtors ever I have heard of, good grief! And they are cagey, not telling you it was only a couple!! Such greedy realtors! It will be Mother Nature allowing one of you to pass, that will decide when you will move. And then it will happen swiftly. So keep getting rid of stuff. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYes---- We are here for now-Lynda
DeleteMy realtor was focused on getting the end result. Maybe you can ask how much longer your contract goes? I know it is disappointing to go thru all the prep only to hear that they were not interested. Better luck next time if you still want to sell. Donna_cps2
ReplyDeleteI do agree--Lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: You have a terrible real estate agent. And if you guys are reakky sure you want to stay there & it seems like you do & it makes sense to me as well, take it off the market. It's not a house for a couple, it should be a family. I expect moving would not be good for himself.Hope you get some shopping although it's too hot for anyone to stay in the car.Hope tomorrow is better. Brenda
ReplyDeleteI agree Brenda-Lynda
DeleteMargene--The listing goes till the end of October--I agree --she isn' too good at getting back to us--Is there a penalty if we take it away from her--discontinue it?-- I cannot find it on the agreement-- Lynda
ReplyDeleteIt should say something about penalties in the agreement for cancelling or withdrawing. If you find nothing, you could call the realtor and say that as far as you can tell, there is no penalty, and you would like to cancel if that is the case. It would get the conversation started. Penalties can be a percentage of asking price, so you probably should avoid that. Good luck.
DeleteYes--it says nothing--- and it is cancelled--Lynda
DeleteI really think we should take it off the market--- but--is there a penalty if we do that? Lynda--
ReplyDeleteHey---- I got bananas too to-day--- and yes we are staying in this house-I think--LOL--Hugs-- and more hugs-Lynda -
ReplyDeleteOh dear, oh dear... decisions this big are SO hard. I know. I get little urges to "downsize" / "relocate", too. But in the end, I generally decide that it is just too much work.
ReplyDeleteOh, reading the prior comment from LOAGrandma reminds me: I got bananas yesterday, too! We should call ourselves "The Banana Gang"!
Hope your Tuesday goes well!
