Here are some of the Grandchildren--with Gramma--(ME)--and a few dogs--big Beau and Lopez with Tyson, our daughter's dog-as you can see, the Grandkids have grown--they have turned into young adults , it seems now--We ate outside on the deck yesterday------AND-----to-day is "hair Day"----- I shall pick up the dog's Tick Medicine from the vet when I go into town--- Their 1st dose lasted 12 weeks--time for this next dose--Time to get moving here before everyone descends upon us---It looks mighty much like we will have a rainy day here---- don't forget--- You are strong--oh----one more thing---yesterday I learned how do something---- You see, we have 3 bathrooms--The most popular one, just inside the front door--well, the toilet seat was hanging --half off--No-one could sit on it--so, I pulled it right off--- then asked if anyone knew how to fix the situation--No-one replied--dead silence-
Yesterday I decided it could not be that difficult to install--- AND IT WASN"T! --a couple of bolts in the back-and there it was--sitting where it was supposed to be---first time ever, an 80 yr old woman, ever did that!
They never taught us , in Home Economics, how to do such useful stuff---WE learned how to sew an apron, but "How to install things that break in a home" never came up--- Too bad !---
Grands are gorgeous and so big..and I love Tyson.
ReplyDeleteGood on you with toilet seat. I DO know how to do that. You were lucky to find the right fit first try as lids/bowls are shaped differently. Good on you!
Enjoy hair day!!!
Hugs
I too am impressed that you got the right size seat on the first try! Little things mean a lot some days. How is Himself handling the increased activity and confusion in the house with all the company? Maybe it will wear him out so much he will be too tired to complain. I just hope he doesn't get his worst with the kids. They are jewels!
ReplyDeleteD.
This is why I love libraries and the internet... they teach me how to fix things, used things, set things up, etc. Good job on your foray into plumbing!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos of the grands... they are... well, grand... aren't they?
Have a wonderful weekend (said on a Thursday that for some odd reason feels like a Monday).
Awesome pics of the grandkids enjoying their lake-time; you look great and happy!! Installed a toilet seat, huh?? Nice work! Hope that you are having another lovely visiting day….Eissa7
ReplyDeleteLynda, as always the photos are terrific!
ReplyDeleteI have done toilet seats, too. Not hard, but you gotta be sure to tighten your bolts (or screws), otherwise it will wiggle.
Dinner outside sounds marvelous. I miss that. We have a nice patio here outside our community room. There's a nice garden that one of the residents planted, gliders, umbrella tables and a nice grill. Before covid, we had barbeques, celebrations and such out there in the summer. It hasn't picked up again.
Memories. Someone from my work gave me a gift during a holiday gift exchange. It is a set of 3 little plaques: Remember Yesterday, Live Today and Dream Tomorrow.
We do what we need to do to keep ourselves on track with chores, pets and family. We ARE strong!

Same thing here, in my condo community. We had a yearly 4th of July bbq, bingo, went out to eat monthly, etc. Since COVID, none of that has picked back up. I'm very upset about it. That's how I used to meet people here, other than the dog walkers.
DeleteNice pictures. Good for you to go get a new toilet seat and then change it yourself. You'd think some male members of the family could help you! We got some rain this afternoon - all of a sudden it really came down and my sunroof and windows were open!! Have a good day. Brenda
ReplyDeleteBefore I was married, and now 10 yrs after my husband passed, I've had to be the woman AND man around here, so if it's simple to fix, it's me who fixes it. We also have a resident who is a handyman and for a small fee, he comes around and installs and/or fixes things for us.
DeleteBrenda--10 yrs after yer hubby passed?--Wow!--I didnt realize--Yu area "super" woman--- Lynda
DeleteNo---- The members of the family--- do not like to help too much-- so--Its just easier to try to do stuff me self--Lynda
DeleteYes, your grandkids are young adults now. **SIGH** Where does the time go. I can only IMAGINE the amt. of food those young ones consume in a day!!!!
ReplyDeleteHURRAY for you for being able to replace that toilet seat! Goooooood job. Agreed. In school home econ we learned cooking and sewing . . . that was it. Life has a way of teaching us the other skills, doesn’t it! Well done.
Enjoy the day and time w/your family.
OH, and have to chime in . . . you DO look great!

DeleteLynda, a BIG High Five to you for getting that toilet seat replaced yourself! Wonderful job! Good for You!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about not learning things that are used when in school. Good going!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Kathy - and I missed yesterday. So much going on with my children in town. They have just stopped by to say goodbye to Grandma and Daisy and now I feel so lonely. It will pass, I'm sure. It was a whirlwind three days with lots of visiting and eating, as I'm sure you know all too well. Love these photos, especially you, Beau and some grandchildren! You look great! I also love that you figured out all by yourself how to put the toilet seat on - I'm very impressed!!!
