Let a smile be your Umbrella!

You beautiful person you!--- Hopefully, soon I can get outta here to get groceries--I have to get Lopez out to do his business---  He has been out  already with big Beau.--- and, speaking of big Beau, he did well at the groomers yesterday--Because I do not dry him after being in the lake, he has developed "hot spots"--which cause him to scratch--a lot---  she gave me some special cream to put on them. Yesterday I did not allow him to go to the lake and he wanted to---

So all the "fun and hoopla" with the family, is over, for now---so quiet here---  nice---  but, I sure enjoyed everyone  coming home. They  are a good bunch!---We had a lot of fun--- the Grandkids went from son#1's dock, just around the corner from us, to the island, and back to our dock-It was so much fun to watch them!

So, I must get the bed made--- take Lopez out one more time, and hit the grocery---

"YES, WE GOT NO BANANAS"--I can sing that song to-day for sure! ----  because of the price of foods, I have decided to eliminate ice cream, cookies, everything sweet, and G'ale, from  my food list--- hopefully I can keep the price down somewhat.  Are any of you doing that?---It would be nice to pay $200---not $300-----

One more thing-- Lopez, the Chihuahua, has not turned into Cujo now for 5 days--nor has he bitten me---I am really trying to be more dominant than him!--LOL---- great big me, and little wee him--You would think it would be easy---but--it takes a lot of "mind over matter" on my part--- to deal with this  sweet little guy--  Man oh man!----I hear we will have Lola and Pips, Son#3's dogs next week and they will help me deal with this Chihuahua--

OK--- Grocery time---  WE HAVE SMOKE IN THE AIR TOO--AGAIN---I just hope it's not from any fire near us!----So--Get up and at 'er---

Our daughter took this picture while here---  over Elliot Lake---  When yu look at that, no question there is a God in HEAVEN----

We are supposed to have rain for several days now---  so----  SMILE-----and of course, Be Strong!

  1. Boy can I relate about not letting Beau do something he wants to do. And my critter with the "cat-itude" is The Prisoner, because he's healing stitches, so I have to keep him inside. I'm also out of an abundance of caution keeping him separated from Rubia (by feeding her outside). Don't want any dust-ups between them until those stitches are well-healed.

Here's to an umbrella-turned-smile kind of a day! Go, team bananas!

  2. The picture your daughter took is beautiful! I am not buying as many groceries as I did before. Now I buy only what I need for the week and not some of the items on sale that I think I'll use later. Quite often those things sit in the fridge or cupboard because I changed my mind. I am glad to hear that Lopez is behaving himself and that Beau was fine at the groomers. Enjoy your day.

  3. I am trying to do as you with not buying sweets. I need to use up what I had and get serious about taking off some pounds - they have been creeping up as I don't get the exercise I used to. Any sodas (coke, pepsi or whatever) seem to be making me light headed and so it is as good a reason as any to quit them too. We'll see how long this lasts!!

  4. Lynda, the first thing I need to comment on is that photo by your daughter! SO beautiful. I bet she could send it to a magazine or something and get paid for it. My daughter is an amateur photographer, too. She has submitted a photo for, I believe, a Minnesota calendar on line.
I am glad Lopez is behaving. What might have helped is staying out of the way of Himself. Hope you leave him in his crate when you leave him with Himself.
You have such a wonderful family! The kids, the dogs...the lake activities.
I sure can understand why you are willing to stay.
I only have one banana on its last legs...also need TP and my Nice Cream (plant based ice cream). I will go out today or tomorrow.
It's hazy sun here, too. No rain yet. We have an air quality alert. It seems it will not be necessary to run the A/C for a few days. Maybe a fan in the afternoon. I also use my window fan at night. The white noise is nice, and I love the movement of the air.
Good luck with that grocery bill! Don't eliminate all your favorites, though.

  5. Well, good that Beau did well with the grooming. Poor guy . . . . hot spots are so uncomfortable. Hope that the cream helps.

I imagine it is very quiet with family gone now. (((HUGS)))

Oh yes, there are lots of foods off the list for now. No sweets, that’s for sure, and no soda. Made a little bit of a difference.

Yeah for 5 days of no Cujo for Lopez! You’re doing a good job.

Smoke in the air here, too. Not pleasant. Supposed to have rain tonight, and I sure hope so.

    HUGS and blessings

  7. It's Kathy - what a beautiful picture over your lake. I'm so glad Beau was good at the groomers. Daisy goes in a couple of weeks - she really needs it she is so hot all the time. I'm going to have her cut a bit more than usual. Yes, our grocery bill is ridiculous! We wanted to go out to eat today and every place we looked at on-line the prices were so high for not much. I sure hope things come down again soon!
