"Look --"Someone left a dog in the car and look at him--He is way too hot."----I said that to Himself--and Himself said--- "Go on--You can't save the world--The dog is OK."------
And I replied-"I am memorizing his licence, and getting the owner paged."
And Himself said--- "Forget the dog (who looked terrible)--The dog is OK."
So, I trotted off with my bins under my arm, and in I went to the store--and over I went to a cashier, and asked if she could page the licence, for the owner of that car, because there was a dog left in his vehicle.
And--then-- I shopped for my groceries--took me about an hour--never heard any page , but the store was busy--loud-
Out I went to our car, pushing my cart--AND--- THERE WAS THAT SAME CAR WITH THE SAME DOG LOOKING NOT GOOD__
Back I went into the store and told a druggist this time about the dog--"P{LEASE PAGE THE OWNER", I said--
Now HIMSELF was really really in a very bad mood--- keeping him waiting , over a dog does not go well with this man--And--there he was in the parking area telling me what a nutty person I was --and on and on and on--
There is no end to this story-- because--- I was a bad person--I LEFT THE AREA--I LEFT THE POOR DOG PANTING AWAY__
After dinner, I called Son#2, the Pilot, who seems to understand my love of animals--He told me that I should've called 911--a Police Officer would've taken the dog away and out of the heat--and the vehicle-
END OF STORY
----That is why I look like this--sorta----- still--Whatta crazy day! I guess I did what I could---- but----- I still think I could've done more-- Lord love a Duck! --So, remember---- call 911--if you see what I saw--
I am so sorry about that dog, too! You did what you could... at least they left the window down, but that's not enough in this heat! I picked up my groceries yesterday, curbside, and left the car running and the AC on the whole time. No dogs in my car, but I was. Hope there was a decent rescue for that dog, in the end.
ReplyDeleteHopefully that owner returned soon-----kinda still think about it Barb--Lynda
DeleteIt is amazing how many people still leave animals in a hot car even with all the messages sent out each year. There are a lot of people that should not be allowed to own animals. I would have done the same thing that you did and I am glad of the reminder to call 911 if ever in that situation. Himself should have been proud of you for your concern over a living thing whether it is human or animal. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteit really was sad to see this poor big animal panting like he was-- Lynda
DeleteAww I'm sorry about that dog. Hoping the owner returned soon. Sorry himself got impatient with you about dog
ReplyDeleteIts terribly hot in St.Louis....predicting air temps of 100 this week.
Stay cool and safe.
Hope you find time to play your piano.
Hugs
Margene--very hot here today --specially in the afternoon--Lynda
DeleteThat's good advice from your son. I probably would have done exactly what you did without thinking about the police. That poor dog. We won't even take Daisy with us when it's this hot - not even leaving her for 5 minutes. It's just too hot and windows down doesn't help! You tried, I say good for you. I'm sorry it upset himself!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is Kathy. I log in but my name never shows up anymore!
DeleteKathy--It was upsetting--- The poor dog looked bad---Lynda
DeleteYou were right Lynda!
ReplyDeleteit was sad to see this big dog panting like he was--Lynda

Hard to see an animal suffer and yu can't do anythingLynda--
DeleteYou done so good to help that poor dog. Sorry you had to see that because I know it is upsetting! How awful of that owner! It is going to feel like 100 in Ohio this week. Hope you’re having a better day! Hugs!
ReplyDeletesad to see an animal suffer --- in heat--- and yu feel so helpless-- Lynda
DeleteOh, Lynda, the poor dog! And what an irresponsible owner! I would have probably remembered to call 911...and somehow got the dog some water! Awful what people do to animals. Some people oughta just not even have pets! I wish that I could rescue all the feral cats and roaming homeless dogs!
ReplyDeleteAt least you got your bananas. Me, too. Today I got more watermelon, cat food, an entree for dinner and a couple other things. I forget what already. Geesh!
It's hot here, too. When I got in the car, it said the temp was 97F! That's 36.111C...according to a chart on google. Humid, too.
Hey! You got that owners license plate...you could still report whoever it is to the police. Here in most places in the US animal cruelty is against the law! There are penalties from fines to jail time.
{{{HUGS}}}
I asked the Policeman son and he said if one window is open , they do nothing-- sad eh?--It was 98 --hot hot --and the dog looked bad-- Lynda
DeleteYou did what you could. I used to work near a parking area and police do not always think that dogs are in danger that are reported in hot cars and they sometimes just checked on the dog and went on, so calling 911 may have not solved the issue. Some people should not have pets.
ReplyDeleteEven my son the Policeman told me today that if one widow is open they will not do anything--Terrible-- One window was half way down-- The dog looked bad-Lynda
DeleteLynda, you did what you could. I can't believe how stupid people are. These must be the same type of people that leave their dogs in parks. If you were in town maybe you could also call your policeman son to put a call out.Hopefully himself has calmed down now. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteHimself is not too good this evening -I only hope that dog survived-Lynda
DeleteToo bad the owner could not be placed inside that car and left there! It has been proven that a window open is not enough air, for child or dog!
