Have you ever had a day when you did not know if you were coming --or going?--Crazy !---- I think there is too much happening in my life right now--Maybe a lot of dogs-----you see, I fed one dog and the wrong dog ate that meal--Then I fed another dog---and the wrong dog ate another dog's meal--so---- outside a couple of them went , while the smaller dogs could eat--I guess they should be fed in stages--with me on guard--
I began to realize , having a painter Lady in, to do the main level, at this time , is just not going to work, if I want to preserve my sanity----at least, while these dogs are here for the week--
So--I called the paint Lady who kinda "hit the roof"--told me this week was her only time she could fit me in----- and meanwhile, before she gets here, I should be removing all the pictures on the walls, taking down light fixtures---ready for her to paint--Now, as if I can do that with 4 dogs panting at my feet----needing to go in--then out--- then for a run down to the lake etc etc etc--
I tried to be as nice as I could to this PAINT PERSON----to let her know , that in a week I will be almost dog less---ready for her---but I knew from her tone of voice , she was not hearing anything !
So, this is a day, I do not know whether I am coming--or going--- or, to put it differently, staying here in our 50 year old house, which we do love---or moving , to goodness knows where--and into what?--
Maybe I need to find that penny tossed down for me---- Maybe I have to have more faith, that life will turn out the way it is meant to be-- Maybe that paint Lady is not supposed to come--Maybe she will appear in a week--- Lord love a Duck-Who knows eh?--Stuff usually turns out for whatever way it is supposed to-- you gotta have that faith----Right?--
In order to run a paint business one would need to stick to a schedule. Probably has bookings for the next few weeks and so she has to plan ahead. Last minute changes are not workable.
ReplyDeleteI understand your predicament. I am not sure that I could look after 4 dogs, let alone 4 dogs and Himself!
DeletePainters in our area are hard to come by and scheduled months in advance. If you want the painting done, you better figure out how to make it work as scheduled. Sorry, but otherwise forget about getting it done anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I thought you decided that you would stay in the house…
Painting should be done in this house, even if we stay here--which I think we will be doing--I know--too bad I had to change her coming--thought I could not handle her here --AND 4 dogs-- I used to be able to--but--these dogs are older now---I do feel bad about it all--Lynda
DeleteLord, you have a lot of puppy patrolling to do!
ReplyDeleteLord! You have to remove the light fixtures, too??? Hmmmmmm. . . well, I think you made the right choice for now with all the critters there to wait.
OMG I read the penny meme and it brought me to tears. That is my brother’s sign to me! I am sometimes finding pennies from him and I KNOW they’re from him by looking @ the dates on the pennies. And he collected pennies. So that meme hit home for me. Thank you.
LOVE the 6 little stories, too. ALL true!
HUGS my dear. Take care of yourself. Your hands are beyond full.

Barb--Of course--that is your brother---'specially with the dates--Amazing! --There really is more to "Heaven"" than we realize isn't there?=-=- Too bad we don't know all about it now--- hugs Barb--Happy I put that on the blog--the meme-- Lynda
Deleteabsolutely true____ Lord love a duck eh!!! Thank yu-=-Wish yu were closer--Lynda
ReplyDeleteIt's Kathy. I am in agreement with those who said not to feel bad about canceling the painter, especially when there are so many things that YOU have to do ahead of time. There are so many things in and around my home that have had to wait for a better time because I am still not 100% after all those surgeries last year. I take a deep breath and tell myself that no one will die if this project doesn't get done until next year! You have so many things to take care of every day, I'm sure you feel very overwhelmed. When we take care of Annie, Daisy's sister, I always put Annie's bowl down first because Daisy knows her bowl is coming. But the first time Annie stayed with us we had the same issue - both dogs thought the other dog was getting something better. I love the penny from heaven meme. The morning of the day my dad died, I found a penny. It's nice to believe that he was saying goodbye to me that way!
ReplyDeleteawwwww Kathy--- That penny was from your Dad--- Yes--the feeding of these dogs this AM was mass confusion--- It went a lot better this evening-- because I was aware of this happening----It has been a terrible day--feel so bad about the paint Lady-and I now realize that it would be total bedlam- with her here--AND 4 dogs----- big Beau would be the worst--the Shepherd--probably barking viciously--with Lopez following-- anyway--too bad about the painting not getting done -at this time--Thanks for writing-Lynda
DeleteLynda, find another painter! When you're in business, you're supposed to go by the axion, "The customer is always right." even if they're not.
ReplyDeleteTerrible reaction to your predicament! I would highly advise you to no longer deal with her!
Doggies galore! What fun...but what a lot of work! How does Himself react to all of them and them to him?
I have a warning light on the dashboard I need to figure out, today taking a friend to the food pantry for her to get some free food, tomorrow (my birthday) taking 2 more friends shopping all around town. They usually give me $20 for gas. And IS GAS EXPENSIVE! It goes up and down then up again! I remember when it was $.35 a gallon as was a pack of cigarettes. That shows my age!
Thanks for the great memes.
Honey, it will be ok! Remember to live in the moment while planning your next steps for the immediate future.
{{{HUGS}}}
OMG--YU have made my day--- Thank yu-Thank yu--Thank yu--I feel so bad --really really bad--that I had to change her coming and messing up her schedule--
Delete"Live in the moment"--- great idea-- and yes, gas here is really expensive-- lynda
We all have life changes that can impact businesses we arrange things with... and sometimes that means we have to be patient for when they can next "fit us in". But it doesn't mean you should beat yourself up about life happening! Hang in there, Lynda, you are not alone.
ReplyDeleteThank yu so much Barb--- and yes I can be [pAtient as to when she can fit me in again--if she will--Thank yu-Lynda
DeleteLynda i was wondering how you planned to have a painter and 4 dogs. I had no idea painter also expected you to take down fixtures. This isnt a good week for a paint project. No need to feel bad about changing dates BUT you will need to either get on her schedule or another painters schedule as holidays are coming and painters will be extremely busy all the way into next year. Its not uncommon for painters to be booked months in advance.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the dog feeding schedule figured out. Four dogs is a LOT to handle with everything else you do.
I love finding pennies as I know they are from my mom.
Hang in. Crisis averted with paint and pups lol. Or at least postponed.
Hugs
Crazy eh--?-- a painter here with 4 dogs--I never knew she would come so fast when she planned it--and I already had promised Son#3 I'd keep his dogs so--what a mess I caused-- keep his dogs--and she got pretty angry-- completely wrecked my day--lynda
DeleteHi Lynda: With the painter you are the customer and that is not how you treat a customer. And she wants you to remove all light fixtures as well as everything else. I'd be telling her to hit the road! But maybe she's the only one in town and you have to be nicer than that. Having all those dogs to look after plus himself, another time is definitely better. You gotta find a few pennies to pick up - which is hard to do since the government go rid of them! Good luck. Have a good evening. Hugs Brenda
ReplyDeleteLOLOL---- but the pennies are dropping from Heaven-so god to hear from yu and that it was OK to change the painter's plans-Thank yu for writing-Lynda
DeleteThe painter should not have talked to you the customer like that.
ReplyDeleteI would find another painter. I never heard of the customer having to take light fixtures down....pictures and such yes.
I believe I'd find a new painter who has manners.
Oh Darlene-Thank yu so much fo saying that--It sure has made my day pretty terrible--feel quite terrible about changing her plans--Lynda
